Do you find it worth it? I rarely see doordssh to ubereats. Like I'll see 10 ubereats orders to one doordash order..I just don't to feel I absolutely have to keep status to make money if it actually does pay better to make it worth the time
@yourdrivermike
Stacks can affect your rate; at least in my area it does. Not sure how it works with that new tier system. Hope this helps.
Hey i love that it says youre getting high priority and the next delivery is 2.50 mcdonalds 6 miles into a project ridden block
I'm 'platinum ' and first couple of days of the tier system, I did great with high paying offers. Now, the offers are back to being crappy. Most are the $3.50/4.50 offer. Sometimes I'll get $6-8 offers. To me, not much different than before.
Yah my girl plat and im silver and i been getting better offer than her most the time when i started dashing 2 months ago my first month i got too dasher getting 10$ consistently
This is my favorite kind of video from you, when you're out gigging 👍🏼
Yes, I agree.
I get those safe/unsafe prompt about 25% of my deliveries. It gets rather annoying actually. Especially when it NEVER asks when it sends me to East St Louis but will bend over backwards to ensure my saftey in the suburbs.... Make it make sense....
The "did you feel safe doing this order." thing happened for me every time I took an order to a particular neighborhood, turns out drivers kept getting robbed, car jacked and or attacked left right and center in this 10 block radius. Doordash turned it into a no go zone after awhile, I got curious one day and tried to place an order using a few addresses in the area that notification popped up in and it would say "delivery is unavailable for this location." It also happens at places drivers reported as unsafe, for example there is a house we call the "pitbull house" the owner has 5 pitbulls and they are never fenced in or caged and they will jump all over your car scratch it up, I hate that house so much.
Also, DD asked me to take a picture of the Arby’s menu for an extra dollar for DD accuracy. Nice!
I believe the asking about being safe thing is something that happens when a dasher reports a customer for something, and say they felt unsafe on the delivery, then they ask every dasher that takes that order in the future. I have had it happen when someone ordered 12 fountian drinks and a dasher said they felt unsafe because they had no way to secure all those drinks. I have had it happpen on really bad orders, that dont tip, etc..
My first time as a Top Dasher this month and I am absolutely killing it. I find it really hard to take anyone seriously that say AR does not matter anymore when I've seen the results with my own 2 eyes. I was as low as 15% at one point and was about ready to quit. Wasn't getting crap. I worked back up to the 50% range and it changed everything. It is purely market dependent.
6% here. Love you guys trying to keep that meaningless stat up. Means you're all busy when the $20 orders go out that I take.
Do you dash full time?
@@Kao.s_vids Yes, for 6 years now.
AR does matter in some markets. I am a cherry picker and I can only make money during the lunch rush. Once that is over the app goes dead for me. I have some friends who are top dasher if their AR goes below 65 to 70% they will sit long periods of time with no orders being sent to them. Maybe you are in an extremely good market and a low AR is okay. I am in a very good market which is a beach market and on doordash you cant thrive here without a high AR. Doordash says AR doesn't matter, but there has been a change in algorithm for sure. As a cherry picker I'm not going to sit here and pretend there hasn't been an algorithm change like most of these youtubers do. The fact you see some of them now raiding their own AR is proof that it matters.
@@KimberlyStarr21 Yeah, and I see them posting the same kind of offers I get, most of them lower. The market is way down, even from a year ago. You're going to sit waiting for good orders cause there aren't as many people ordering. May as well sign up for some other apps that will also be slow, but can fill the gaps. I run doordash and Uber. Sometimes it's dead, sometimes I can't stop for anything for several hours straight and even end up running all night into the next morning, juggling up to 5 orders at a time between the two apps.
You're full of it man. AR absolutely matters. What matters the most is your market. If you're in a saturated area you absolutely get dunked on if you have a low AR... I've done it both ways. Trust when is say IN MY AREA your AR directly affects your offers. (Metro East St Louis)
It was definitely slower where I live the past few days and then I was reminded that it's Spring Break time with the local schools. I got my AR up to 82% and have seen much better orders in the past few days.
They send you a safety check also when you spend too long in the delivery dropoff. Which usually happens when you are dropping off large groceries or waiting on the customer to come out.
The ONLY good thing about platinum status is being able to dash now. Its helpful being able to jump on any time I have a free couple hours. Some days theres great tips, other days I have to decline so many that I just go home
I got a few times a few months ago but its been popping up like EVERY 10 orders. I appreciate because if alot of people say dont feel safe they may not allow deliveries or RAISE pay for those offers
DD offers extra pay, more in the worst neighborhoods in my city. Still they never have enough people there.
I have dashed for 2 years now and my acceptance rate is 95 percent but there are so many new dashers today I set for a hour in between orders I finally logged out and went home
DD has asked me about safety for six months. It really means nothing, if you are in real danger they are not going to do anything about it. I know that. They also keep having this question on safety pop up on the screen in safe neighborhoods but when I’m in shady neighborhoods, they never ask me about my safety.
Absolutely the same experience here. I only get the question in my normal safe areas - when I'm sent to areas bad enough I pause the dash to get out of the area and I actually feel unsafe, I've never been asked the question. Guessing corporate wanting a certain answer for the PR dept to blast out and so they only ask the question in low crime areas to get the answer they want.
@@Sasparillafizz Good to know that I’m not alone, but a bad experience for you. Sometimes I feel working through an app for a tech company can feel very dystopian, to the point where at times I question if I’m paranoid. 🤷🏻♀️I think it comes with within that territory when you are so heavily scrutinized through an app and everyone involved can demote you with a finger. Other people that don’t really know us, can just make us loose our jobs. It’s really, really weird.
When the video started it said the time was 1:01 pm on his phone. He showed that he was at 51% acceptance rating. He then declines 3 orders and when the Five Guys add-on comes in it's 1:11 on his phone. He then says his acceptance rate will be 52% if he declines, yet his dash total is at $0.00. This means he hasn't accepted any orders and even DECLINED orders but his acceptance rate went up. What's really going on, Mike? 😐
I remember getting the safety pop up on my phone post delivery months ago here in Milwaukee
Also keep in mind, you get higher tips when double bagging the orders. I did this with some customers tonight because of the bad weather when leaving the orders outside and I got a higher tip
I get safety surveys all the time. Usually when I go to near rural areas at night or the hood. I always click very safe and I get sent back to the same neighborhood.
Are you doing this as the average Dasher? Like the I only dash when I might have some time during the week and on weekends? OR are you doing this as someone that has DoorDash as their job?
I get the pop up but it is usually late in the evening. I kinda appreciate it.
If i all do is fri/sat/sun dinner rush should I even try to get silver? Solo said I made $22 an hour which is $5 an hour higher than my regions average (kansas city) in March just doing fri/sat/sun. So i was wondering if it is even worth it for me to get this? my ar hovers around 10-20%
Mike, I need to know how to add expenses to the side hustle tracking sheet and can't find a way to contact you
This video fits the old headline adage where if there’s a question posed the answer is “No.”
New thing for me (last week) is having to take pictures of the food receipts on pickup (before confirming pickup), probably 70% of the time. Have been having the "Did you feel safe?" prompts since I started back in October. I always get them in my normal areas (higher income, very safe) I never get them when I'm on earn by time and DD sends me (couple of times a week) someplace I'd avoid (i.e. Sketchy enough I pause the dash to get out of the area after delivery)...have never gotten a prompt in those areas. Seems like a PR thing where they are wanting an expected outcome and so only ask you in safe places to get the result their execs & PR department wants. This is in the Chicago area.
What is "business miles?" Is that the total miles you drove the entire 4 hour shift? Or just the miles displayed by DoorDash?
Are tips included in the Total Gross Revenue?
I get safety requests every couple of days and it seems random... but I may take closer looks at the neighborhoods where these pop up.
For the safety thing, there are 3 neighborhoods I go through that I Always get the notice so it's probably certain areas where dashers have reported issues.
I've been getting the safety messege for almost a year...usually pops up in questable high crime areas
Ive got that message several times and often not in a great area!
The safety pop up happens to me sometimes when I'm in a zone where my Internet and cell reception are low
DoorDash crash in my area. Lexington KY. It’s giving me script type writing.
The safe question is not new I've been asked that previously I think they launched it or trial it in certain markets. I'm in the Portland oregon, Southwest Washington area
I have been asked at least twice about my safety, in an upper class neighborhood..one was delivery to a Church office. Felt like I was very safe both times. 🤔
The safety check is random , you get it on average about 2 or 3 of the orders daily , like every dozen deliveries or so, or every 10, something like that , usually twice daily , for over a year now
I think that pop-up for the safety pop-up I get it like if I go somewhere while I’m not I don’t normally go. That’s the only time I get it. I’m gonna pop up for me.
2:23 the safety thing isn’t new. I’ve had it ask me that in certain places. It may be places where a dasher needed to call ADT.
I've gotten the question on how safe I feel. There are areas I'd rather not deal with a lot being shabby unsecured apartment buildings etc but over all its usually chill
In my area these days, when deciding whether or not to accept an order, I mostly don’t bother factoring in when an order says “$X.XX+”. Seems a majority of the time the “+” ends up being $.50.
I get those in Seattle in so so neighborhoods
The safety check is definitely random. I get them a lot when I drive into gated communities (million dollar homes) that have security guards that check your ID before letting you drive into, and drop off order. Yet when I drive into lower class neighborhoods, rarely does it pop up. Its been in my market for almost a year.
The safety thing only pops up when I deliver to a new customer, not even a new area. Onetime it was a high end hotel and another time it was a trailer park. Not sure what exactly makes it pop up. Maybe it’s just random
I got the do you feel safe question 4 or 5 times I'm in Mississippi lol
Where do you see whether you’re silver or gold?
When I first started dashing, I did get one of those notifications when I was delivering to a rather sketchy neighborhood. I said I felt safe but then quickly left after I dropped their food off. Perhaps someone else who delivered there had an issue? 🤷♀️
8:28 Twice yesterday I made 15 to $18 for less than 6 total miles for both orders in a two order additional delivery, meaning I went to one they offered me another from a closer location maybe a mile away from the original pickup. 15 minutes. Same thing for the other order. The majority of the money for those two groups of two came from customer tips. I wonder if the algorithm analyzes historical tip rates for high tipping customers and that's part of the offering that goes to platinum drivers.
The safety notification is both random and based on previous safety reports from that *area.*
I’ve only been asked if I feel safe in safe areas. My suspicion is they’re doing this so they can go, “We not only ask our drivers if they feel safe but they say yes 90-plus percent of the time.”
I’ve gone down to 48% and still was getting the high priority orders but definitely if you end your dash under 50, it cuts you off until you pass 50 again
I get the safety questions in certain neighborhoods....always
I've been getting the safety survey after some deliveries for about a year, maybe. Not sure why.
Ive been getting that safety thingfor almost a year and it’s usually if i go in a known bad area
Thanks for the carvertise mention. I downloaded the app.
I've had the safety question pop up for at least 6 months at random times.
I get the message about being safe randomly. I'll get a bunch in the same day, then not get any for a week.
Stop chasing a tier status. Business is about maximizing profits. Anyone chasing tiers is actually decreasing their net profit. We're better getting a W2 than chasing a tier status.
If you register a “didn’t feel safe” response, the customer is notified.
I think there might be some verbiage in the doordash info regarding the new tier status that says the change between tiers takes a day or two to update in their system. So you may be able to drop out of a tier for a few deliveries and not be affected if you manage to get it back up quickly. don't quote me on that though.
No, it will change your tier instantly!
I think the safety thing comes up because another driver reported it unsafe.
I have got the how safe do you feel. It has to be random. First 2 times in very nice neighborhoods. Then again in a well lit nice area of town. And everywhere that is questionable middle of no where dead end road in the woods nothing. In the getho.... Nothing so l am saying it is random.
I’ve been getting mostly nothing but no tip orders back to back since Easter I was at 74% now I’m at 62% on Tuesday. It’s like they’re trying to bring me down on purpose.
Your stats for this one are more in line with what I've been seeing in a big city. It used to be 20/hr until it got warmer out. DD needs some other incentive to make those lower tier offers worth it. I'm going for 2k trips with uber eats which is a great incentive for asu. All I care about is trips/hr. It's also easier mentally to not have to think about if every order is worth it as it becomes much more black and white.
I've had those random safety pop ups for at least 6 months if not maybe even longer. 3 years in and there's not a single neighborhood I've delivered to where I would say I feel unsafe. Also I wish I could try and raise my AR to 50% in preparation for this program but where I dash I see SOOO many grocery orders that I don't wanna do for a variety of reasons. I wish I could opt out.
If you are talking about shop and deliver using the red card, you can "lose/expire" your red card which will stop those offers from coming.
You can, just toggle on and off your red card....
@@danguts2844 It doesn't show up to toggle in every market yet.
As other poster mentioned. Mark red card lost. Hit the 3 bars upper left of screen in DD app, scroll down to 'Red Card" click and mark lost/stolen. No more shopping orders ever. Only time you would see an order now is if its already pulled, paid for and ready.
@@danguts2844 I don't have the ability to turn my card on or off. I once I marked it lost/expired, that card is now forever void.
I was at 73% but since Easter I have gotten back-to-back-to-back $3 orders for 5 mile offers. 3 days later I'm at 49%
spring break, or as I like to call it "tons of broke highschoolers placing doodoo orders cause moms at work and they wont cook for themselves." rule number 5 of being a delivery driver. Remenber when schools are out for extended periods and work extra hours the week before to make extra money cause spring break sucks.
The safety question is 100% random because i dash in the safest place ever and get it randomly all the time even in super wealthy neighborhoods
I always get those safety ones when I'm in a nice neighborhood and not the ghetto for some reason
So far this go around i have done 340 deliveries and not once have i ever gotten a high paying delivery its only math that eventualy luck would step in but the middle man is doordash so think about that
Those safety check-ins must be random. I deliver in a very affluent area and I get them pretty often
Oof. Pathetic hourly. The tier program is just a smoke screen to get people to deliver more trash. I still cherry pick and do excellent multi-apping.
Yeah I almost laughed at his hourly rate. If I ever make less than 20 an hour I would quit. Have to multi app
The guy still a rookie
Bro it’s your job tf.
I get that safety question often. I suspect it’s a new customer.
I don’t even have this program in my area. New Jersey.
A lot of areas don't have it, big areas like Houston, TX. It appears they are rolling it out slow because I would guess areas like New Jersey would already have it. I'm glad they are rolling it out slow, because it's a terrible program, requiring 50% AR to access the early schedule is my biggest complaint. I probably won't be able to Dash my full schedule due to saturation and crowded schedule.
I have gotten the safety pop up numerous times. My opinion its totally random
Why doesnt my app have ailvwr dashers and all that
I average $31 an hour and I don't live in a big city...I also do drive by the hour pay and not a silver driver.....odd.
DD keeps me from getting to 70% I feel like. I will get some great offers and then get up to 68-69%, and then they start sending me trash after trash. EVERY TIME.
Been there too. They know you want that 70%, make you take the trash out to earn it! Same thing when I’m on the bubble, a percentage or two over 70, they know you don’t want to go back under 70.
Hi Mike have u experienced that u get 1 base pay for 2 pick up orders 2 drop offs? On the DD app it says " base pay is per order" but we don't get paid that, we only get 1 base pay. The language for peak pay is the same, "per order", but that they do pay. Any explanation for this? Or anyone that has insight on this. This is highway robbery at its finest.
DD is likely splitting the base pay between both orders: $2 base pay = $1 base pay for each order. Add on orders get their own base pay.
$2 for 1 order is bad enough but I agree, for 2 especially from different restaurants absolutely stinks!! 👎🏻
Has it also happened that if you decline 1/2 orders because they are just awful they send you awful orders after that, it's like they penalize you for not taking them.
Add-ons do affect your AR.
I was out and headed to a hotspot and had to pull over as over 30 police cars went by at speed with lights on. When I got further down they closed all 3 lanes and I had to go to a different area. I found out the next day that someone had stabbed a police officer in the neck at the gas station there. Happened in Phoenix 2 nights ago
I'm always safe with my friend Glock by my side 🎉.
16 years of conceal carry, never even had to pull it out.
Kicked a few pitbulls charging at me in the face but that's about it. Finally years of kick boxing paid off! 😂
Turn off shop and deliver order, mark card as lost!
Making way more doing these RUclips vids than Dashing
Yes they been asking for safety
Man, my AR is down to 9%, its not easy to get it to zero!!!
I never got mine to 0%. Yes, it's pretty hard to get it that low. Having 0% AR can get flagged as possible fraud, so says DD. I can't imagine why.
1:50 Plus $3 "post delivery"? Gaslighting.
i think its funny that "high paying offer" is a bad order on uber eats
No wonder we keep getting crappy orders. They're all going to the silver dashers!
We’ve had it for months
I’m in Ohio and don’t have this dasher problem yet
You really overthink things too much. The deal with the safety question is because Dashers mark certain areas as unsafe for whatever reason, and so they are asking all dashers about certain areas.
The rewards tiers are a bunch of bs. When u hit the upper 50's, they'll bombard u with garbage. After declining, you're back in the 40s
I’m at 89% I’m platinum
Thats a horrible per hour rate. Below min wage in many places lol
Buddy. I’m telling you, get to platinum. I ran into another dasher that admitted to coming to my area for better paying offers. Jokes on you cause you’re not even silver and I’m platinum. I’m getting the best orders anyway. Lol 😂
😮
It's random. I've gotten it in a bad neighborhood and a good neighborhood. Sooooo.
Every safety check ive had is after delivering to million dollar homes, its a joke.

So much effort to make non slave level money. So much work just to get wrecked by taxes at the end of the year.
