I was blown away today. I had a sitch where a multi app buddy and I were side by side. He’s at 3% AR and gets a regular 1 item booze shop for, 7.00 1.5 miles. He declines it. It came to me seconds later but now it’s PLATINUM! Unchanged. I’m plat, 82% and he gets first crack? Whaaat? So just to mess with VIP Dasher Support. 😂 This rep got mad. Said my buddy would soon be deactivated because his AR is too low. So I suggested that the policy must have changed. Asked she sent the policy email to me with that info. She sent me an email stating that a new Acceptance Rate minimum of 50% will be required or you face deactivation. But the only thing worse than Dasher Support is VIP Dasher Support. Mike I’m coming up on 11K dashes. I was stunned when she sent it. But I don’t know if I should believe it. We’ve all been lied to by DS. Hear anything from that escalation yet? Anyone? Farris?

Yeah, not at all. That's like a 4 or 5 hour day, I do 100 dollars a day pretty much every day. I know doordash doesn't necessarily attract the most driven people, but come on man, 5 hours of work a day of something as easy as food delivery isn't a big ask

I have been doing this full time since COVID. I work 8-10hrs a day. What used to be breeze to clear 250-300 on a normal weekday and 300-400 Fri-Sun is now a struggle to get $200 everyday of the week. I’ve totally changed strategy to do only Retail/Grocery. Times have changed and it is starting to not make sense. At least in Philly. You have to factor in the hourly you do NOT just dash time, mileage, and mental sanity. And I use Doordash, Uber, Grubhub, Instacart, Spark, Shipt Flex everyday. I’ve said enough it’s too oversaturated, and people expect too damm much and tip little to nothing.

Watched many of your vids as I’m currently considering door dashing on the side to free up my weekends. Starting in the trades and my day job only gets me 22 an hour but is expected to grow to 27/30 in the next few years
Currently work that as full time plus a full target shift on Saturday.
Target pays me 16 an hour already. Compared to that in your opinion could door dash in the twin cities Minnesota as a part time at least match that in pay? That’s all I’m looking for to pay the bills

The most important thing in my opinion and experience is getting customers to give u the best ratings. By just messaging them and telling them your "waiting on your order" and just updating them goes along way. Also make jokes and conversate with them and I don't mean to the people that obviously not tipping well.

When I check Uber's app I can see about 25 different Ubers around me anywhere I go, whether it's Cedar Park or even Hutto. At least in Doordash they kinda limit who's in an area. Grubhub used to be good but now all of these things suck.

Nuance for your examples is key. Target; is there traffic on the route, is the store busy at this time? How long would checkout be? How well do you know the store? What is the chance you’ll receive a good order in the drop off area? If you don’t receive when how long would it take to get back into zone?

We had a storm here in Maine a lot of people lost power and yesterday the orders was non stop but the issue was ever place was crazy busy and it was a 20-25 min wait minimum and to top it all off the cell service was down so I was at 74% to start the day trying to accept orders and I could not because of service in my area and it would drop me so now I’m at 70% because I stopped for the day and also my on time/early rate really tanked because of it I called and talked to them they said nothing they can do about the on time rate. So now that I’m at 70% I have been taking some crap orders like 2.00 for 1.8 miles which means no tip because I do not wanna fall below 70%

I am currently around 30 something percent acceptance (as a new driver past the initial "Benefit" program). I went out yesterday, and made 113 dollars with approximately a 2 to 1 dollar to mile ration in about 4.5 hours (4:30 PM-9:00 PM Sunday Dinner shift). But, if I go out on a weekday, or there is no peak pay, then I'd have to go out for ever to make 100 bc most of the orders are trash with a low acceptance rate. I am not sure if accepting everything is worth it, but I have no interest in trying it lol

If you aren't making $100 Dashing in 5 hours you might as well go home! After gasoline, taxes and car insurance you need to make $20/hr to be profitable, and to do that you have to be an elite driver, fast, selective, and totally aware of your order selections, plus maintain 70% AR, and be a top dasher, with priority shop and pay, alcohol, top shop priority and pizza bag certified. The lucky few will have large order priority, but don't count on that.

Its pretty clear, and has been for at least a year now, that doordash intends the top dasher, now platinum, status to be their "bread and butter" drivers, and for anything else to fill in when they have higher order volumes than those platinum drivers can deliver for the zone. The writing has been on the wall for a while now, you shouldnt be expecting to make 25+ an hour with a low acceptance rate outside of the dinner rush and holidays. Doordash has been getting pushed both from drivers and legislators to be more of a stable work opportunity, tiering it into "stable" drivers and "overflow" drivers is a clear step in that direction

They have their college foods joints, we have commercial stores. My town seems to like their stores and they like ours. We go back and forth all day long.
It’s not other drivers or platforms we worry about here. Drone delivery is a thing and they take the less than 3 mile orders. Every order for us is an extended range drive and we typically have stacks. That has increased our pay, but also our milage.

I started doing it. Here's what I learned. When you start, you're essentially a top dasher. But I chose to cherry-pick orders bc I had seen that ar wasn't important. Now I'm sub 30% ar and obviously my trial is over. Now I'm not trying to be ft, so I continue to cherry-pick orders. If there's peak pay in my market, it essentially makes bad orders reasonable. So I look for that. If there's no peak pay, I may go out for 3 hours and bring home maybe 60 to 70. My rules are simple. I shoot for 2 bucks a mile. If it's slow, I accept 1.50 a mile and prioritize the slightly longer trips with slightly higher payouts (meaning I may take a 12 mile for 17... which isn't great but better than 6 miles for 4 dollars for example). I went out on Easter yesterday and made 134 in 5 hours. I went out Saturday and made about 70 dollars in 3 hours.

I started Doordashing Jan 24, 2024 and become Top dasher with Platinum status less than 2 months because I was accepting every order.

Target pays me 16 an hour already. Compared to that in your opinion could door dash in the twin cities Minnesota as a part time at least match that in pay? That’s all I’m looking for to pay the bills

Yes, stacks have been offered for all my orders as a customer. Order pizza then 'Hey, you have 9 minutes to add something from 7/11'
