After struggling with weight issues for over 30 years I finally decided to try a modified keto diet (I don’t keep track of protein and fat). The cardinal rule I’ve stuck with is no more than 50g of carbs per day. It took me a few weeks to come up with a food plan that was sustainable. I knew from the outset that portion control and counting calories would never work for me over the long term. I’m amazed to say that after four months on the 50g or less carb diet I’ve lost 30 pounds. I plan to continue this diet until I lose another 30 lbs, which may take 6 months, a year, or more - - who knows. I consulted my doctor, who has been gently nagging me about my weight. She ran a standard blood panel to determine if my low carb diet was having any negative impacts. I already had good levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose. With my low carb diet they were as good or better. The big difference is weight loss. Bottom line: I’ve come to realize that the carbs that were a major part of my diet for many years we’re not my friends.
My acne disappeared when I started a low glycemic/carb diet . Crazy that my dermatologist barely mentioned diet and instead pushed for an accutane treatment, which ended up not working....

At 70, I'm past the acne stage...now. Wish I'd known about it when I was a teen though. I had acne bad on my back as well as lots of moles & keratoses. I even had some moles removed early in my keto journey 2 years ago. Now, all of that is just fading away, including a dime-sized keratosis that was flat, rough, & black that has lost its color.
Same here! My acne is completely gone. And no one told me. I had to find out by myself. Instead I went through every useless treatment there is for acne for more than 15 years.

Lets talk. I enjoy videos by people who actually give accurate info on low carb diets instead of off the wall keto advice that's generally wrong. At 73 now I've followed an atkins diet for 30 years. I normally allow myself around 12 carbs per day. My breakfast is typically one or two eggs cooked in butter, pork of some type, and often one slice of zero carb keto bread. Lunch is hit or miss. Eating a good breakfast many days I'm not hungry at lunch and skip it. Usual lunch for me is tuna or sardines or poultry or ham along with perhaps a boiled egg, or pickled vegetable or on wild occasion a mixed green salad with eggs and ham. Now dinner is always a meat or seafood and two servings of low carb vegetables. Snacks are nuts and seeds, olives, perhaps half an avocado. I suggest miracle rice or noodles for variety in meals. You might remind people that tomatoes and bell peppers are moderate carb foods and not low carb so you need to limit quantity you eat. Many moderate carb foods like canned carrots or beets are low carb enough that by reducing the serving size can be acceptable on a low carb diet. I try to eat fresh greens a couple of nights a week with my dinner. They are very nutrient dense and are flavorful with a bit of bacon fat and onion(reduced portion on the onion). I will admit that 12 carbs per day may not supply enough energy for a 30 year old construction worker but for the average person it may work just fine. It did help me with my previous digestive issues. It was after starting a low carb diet that I found out I was gluten intolerant. Who knows you might find out that food tastes better after leaning you don't have to eat sugary foods. Keep up the good videos.
I’ve never had issues with weight but….. I am allergic to gluten 😬 I break out in hives and have for 20 years. I don’t like “gluten free” swaps and prefer to eat Whole Foods. I usually serve my protein over salads, or sweet potatoes and green beans. It’s much easier these days than 20 years ago!
I'm keto and looking for videos to share with non-keto people. I'm confused why you listed 50g of each thing. While each food requires quite a bit to reach 50g, I could easily consume over 50 by eating some of each. I don't sit down and eat 1 thing. I must have missed your point. Thanks
I've been consuming essentially zero grams of carbs per day for 4 years... Okay, technically it's not zero, but it's very close because I follow the carnivore diet. In other words, I only consume products of animal origin, in fact, I eat them mostly raw! That is, I eat raw meat and raw offal. Raw brain marrow, raw liver (The natural multivitamin!), raw tallow, raw kidney, raw bone marrow (delicious!), I also drink raw blood (the natural energy drink!)... I usually do this by buying a whole animal, mostly lamb, cutting it up, putting it in the freezer, and then eating it from nose to tail while it lasts. And I only cook his bones, because a lot of residual meat comes off them when cooked. Sometimes, however, I buy whole pig heads and eat them cooked because they have a lot of hard skin that would be difficult to eat raw. But I eat 99 percent raw. I also eat eggs, but fried. And there is one more exception: I drink homemade apple cider vinegar regularly... I myself make it. I'm not afraid of infections, our stomachs became so acidic during evolution to deal with pathogens. What is your opinion about this diet? Anyway, I'm a 57-year-old man, since I changed my lifestyle, I've lost a lot of weight, my angry outbursts are gone, my deep depression is gone, my acne is gone, my dreams are more beautiful, my energy has skyrocketed, etc... Of course, I'm sure, in a technical sense it is FINALLY a kind of ketogenic diet. It has to be, because basically I don't get any carbohydrates, the only carbohydrates my liver generates from excess protein. I also think that all processed foods should be avoided, including meat products if they are processed. That is, the little note on it that says how many calories and what percentage of fat, carbohydrates, etc. is in it, is all UNNATURAL! Natural foods have simply no labels. That's because imagine if you kill an animal - say a lamb - you simply don't know what percentage of protein, fat, whatever it containes. Because every lamb has a different amount of fat. In fact, even for a single lamb, it all depends on which part of the body you're eating. It also depends on whether you eat it raw or roast it, and if you roast it, how long you roast it, at what temperature, under what conditions... after all, some of the fat is burnt off during roasting. So for natural foods, you simply have no idea about these percentages, grams, whatever! The only way you can standardize a food to such data is if the food is NOT natural, but some processed crap, produced in laboratories or under industrial conditions. It's better not to eat that kind of food. In general, I hope you realize that our prehistoric ancestors, the cavemen, the hunters, didn't chase the game with a calorie chart under their arm, and didn't count on a calculator or smartphone apps how many grams of this or that food group or macronutrients they were allowed to eat! Yet they were much healthier than the population today!
I do omad and carnivore. Every now and again I do eat a 7oz block of honeycomb or some fruit to shock the system. That is of course after years of keto, and carnivore for a few years. 225lbs to 168lbs and I still workout at 40. No longer the beefcake weightlifter of my youth.
I've been enjoying an occasional kiwi fruit. I had a guest in my home that bought a big carton of them and when they left, there were four leftover kiwis. Until they run out, I'm enjoying them! I only eat one a half hour or so after lunch.
It is early in the day here, and into the second week of changing my diet. Not big on keto diet or anything like that, just need to make a big change in my regular food intake. It is on my mind right now how real the reduced carb flu actually is. I mean my gut reacts to the lack of carbs and change to new types of food, the impact of the change in food intake is very real. I take a drink early morning for the sake of tasting something and filling in the gap in time between last meal the day before and the coming breakfast which is a 16 hour time gap between those meals, so I have a tasty and healthy tea drink approx 2 hours after last meal of the day and first meal of the next. The drink has ginger and turmeric with cinnomon lemon juice and both green and black tea together. No sugar and tases really great because put lots of cinnamon in with it as well as ginger and turmeric which stews for a long time in a vaccuum flask. My gut feels like it is hit with adrenalin it's a weird feeling and quite nauseated feeling really is. I understand what people call the carb detox flue, that is a strong simptum really is. And the diarehia and flatulance, though it is fun silently sneaking one out in the supermarket isles, it is very real this gut change over to the new food without carbs. I am 2 weeks in on the strict new regular diet. Haven't started exercise yet, need to lose weight first and develop some pervasive energy surplus first, carrying those pounds up hill is not easy, I am 67 and know if younger that would be much easier, as I had to take of weight in younger years often because I have that metabolism that gains weight very quickly, too quickly to keep tabs on, if I am not monitoring it carefully. amy meals are small probably taking a little more than half what I used to take in as far as good goes and little to no sugar or carbs. Thise times in younter years really was easy to take off the pounds and was only going on because of stopping regualr sports and keeping the same eating habits. I like eating sweet stuff, giving myself treats but now at this time of life that has to stop competely no alternative. I measured my blood presure a week back it had gone down already which it needed to, it was extremely high, and doctor was bothered but glad to take the money and give me the precription, no doctoring at all. I call them the zero doctoring squad. It is a real thing also just like ketosis is a real thing. Doctor do nothings are everywhere which gives big business to pharmicists, I take note of how many obese people are picking up medicins while I wait for the my prescrition to be filled. It is most of them but not all. Most are over weight 50% are obese probably a higher number, is how it seems. This is a very sad situation. I tend to think most nutricianists are not that good at what they do either, just part of that system. One postive to that is that those that are good at what they do really stand out. I tend to think the system should be run much differently like streaming ex olympians or jocks who are concsiou of health and into nutrician and medicine instead of people who are more into making money and comfort lifestylers rather than real doctors and real knowledgeable health lifrestylers but who knows if that would change things. People are generallylazy community wise and just want the money from others. I don't want to get into a rant about callous doctors but there is a big problem in that industry, big pharma and big fast food corporations really are at the forfront of this problem and the general public are doomed if each individual does not take control of their own future in regard to health is the reality of this situation. A big picture approach is not so easy to manage unfortunitely but it is the only alternative. Thanks for the many good online channels that are putting out informative content. That really helps. For me I am looking forward to a few more weeks doing this and recheck my blood presure and see the difference. Hope to start exercising more going into the second month start some regular long walks, things like that; I tend to think that much more energy is expended walking than doing a workout at the gym. The reality is we have to do it ourselves nobody will do it for us it truth be kown doctors actually want those fast food chains to thrive because it produces customers for them to be able to make the big money and pay back their student loans then continue to make the big bucks. We all have to take control of our own desitiny is the thing that is in my face right now. I say thank God for giving us Jesus his Son and providing his Holy Spirit. I know I could do it without God the heavenly Father. Well this is a long post but needed to vent a bit and just glad to have mental energy coming back because it has been difficult lately and after waking up with some mental energy wanted to comment and had time to fill before I am due to eat breakfast which is less than 15 minutes away. Awesome, made another day, this is probably only the second or thirday day I have goine the full 16 hours inbetween meals from one day to another. Hope to keep this up if God is willing really want to conquer this thanks for your posts it all helps, God bless you.
I got out of low carbs and sugar and got my a1c up to 12.8. But I'm back on low carb very low to no sugar and have lost weight, and in a month lowered my a1c to 10.2, another month and I should be down to 8.++
After being on keto for 2 years & reaping its health benefits & weight loss I thought I'd try carnivore for its simplicity of keeping carbs low. But I've never been a big meat eater so I found carnivore to be a boring & cheerless diet for me. Also, eating the much greater amount of protein with carnivore caused my blood sugar to rise due to gluconeogensis, often staying above 100 for the day, only coming down after a day of fasting.
Thanks so much. Using these exact strategies, I've been able to lose 30 lbs so far. I also keep away from even "healthy" goodies made with nut flour because they cause me to swell and gain fluid. Ham does this also, even when I soak and boil it. So a no-go there. Generally, the purer my diet, the quicker I lose.
The original keto diet was called Atkins. The plan calls for you to keep under 20 carbs a day for the first two weeks. I’ve been doing it for 20 years 😊

@@turbosupra2jzdragracingtob249 good question. I was a bit confused thinking she was going to show us what 50 g looks like in regular foods, like breads, cereals. Then I had the same question you had. Toward the end of one list she did say, “or”, so I figured it was each item.
Been to Hong Kong for 3 months . Their diets? Noodles, milk tea/coffee for breakfast, fried rice for lunch, and rice again for dinner…and hk are one of the longest life expectancy.
I mostly stick to 50g of carbs, and more often less. I log what I eat, and the app I use calculates the macros for you. So I am mostly maintaining 5-10/25-30/60-65% for the macros. So I am actually aware of the total calories I consume every day. The intention, as I said, is to keep the ratios within the ballpark. Using the app gives other advantages, like also calcs your daily potassium intake, which I find is quite a mission to achieve 3000mg+ . And the RDA is higher than that.
No matter what, 50g is WAY better than 2-300+g per day. You will still see benefits. However, I highly doubt you will stay in Ketosis if you eat more than 30g in a day. Everybody is different, though. I'd suggest checking your ketone levels to make sure. I know some people can eat 50g per day and stay in Ketosis. From what I've seen, most people cannot. Just gotta check for yourself. I have no idea and can't afford a machine to check my levels, so I just keep my carbs super low so that I KNOW I'm always in Ketosis. I'm usually right around 10g or under depending on whether I have any veggies as a side with my protein for dinner.

Hi Kait I have a question what do you think would happen if you do carnivore, with 25 -50 grams of carbs, and high fat and moderate protein? My thoughts is to get my body gradually used to the amount of meat and fat and limit the adaptation toilet issues.

Hi Kait. I really need your help and advice on a particular food item here in the UK. There are these tortilla wraps called Deli Kitchen Carb Lite Wraps that market themselves as Keto friendly low carb. But the nutritional information states that each wrap contains 14.6g of carb and 6g of fibre and 6.9g of protein. These are the listed ingredients: Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin), Water, Wheat Fibre (11%), Pea Protein Isolate (9%), Ground Golden Linseeds (7%), Humectant (Glycerol), Palm Oil, Raising Agents (Disodium Diphosphate, Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate), Wheat Gluten, Emulsifier (Mono and Di-Glycerides of Fatty Acids), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Stabiliser (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose), Preservative (Calcium Propionate), Salt, Wheat Starch, Flour Treatment Agent (L-Cysteine Hydrochloride) Are they really Keto friendly??? Your help would be highly highly appreciated. Because I’m trying so hard as a type 1 diabetic with insulin resistance and PCOS to lose weight and control my blood sugars. It’s hard to be on a strict Keto diet but I’m trying to stay on top of it. I love your content ❤

Very well prepared and presented video. Your knowledge from prior research is very interesting and helpful. Could I just suggest you avoid saying, ‘but before I tell you’ because people may misunderstand this as sidetracking or talking around a click bait title. Still, a thumbs up from me! Next time, how about showing what 50g of carbs looks like for high carb food like bread and typical higher carb fruit. Great video as it was. Many thanks!
Now I'm confused. For years I've been told to stay under 30g per day. Which, I'm almost always under 20g just to be on the safe side. Have those people been wrong all this time?
20g net of 50g total is the general recommendation. However, this can vary greatly based on the individual. Someone very active can have a much high carb threshold and stay in ketosis vs someone who has metabolic dysfunction.
QUESTION! On your lists, you had broccoli twice. 9 cups of broccoli & 100 spears of broccoli. I think you actully meant to say 100 spears of ASPARAGUS...RIGHT?
You have to eat 7700 calories above your energy needs to gain a kg of fat. Overeating on any particular day is not going to cause fat gain. It adds up over time.
There are 3 macronutrients (nutrients we consume in large quantities): protein, fat and carbs. Fruit and veg are mainly carbs and have trace protein and a some of a bit of fat.
@@suew000 almost all veg is fine on keto. Fruit seems to be the problem for that diet. For example it's normal to eat grapefruit or bananas with a traditional American breakfast and that's considered healthy. But on a keto diet those fruits have too much sugar (ie carbs). So, the recommended amount of fruit on a keto diet is something like 5 raspberries. FOR THE WHOLE DAY. That's not much at all. And pretty much only berries are recommended. That's very challenging for most people. I think it's good to remember that proponents of the keto diet treat carbs and sugar the same way because they both take your body out of ketosis. And the keto diet isn't a "low carb" diet, it's more about changing how your body processes nutrients; so it uses fat to burn fat. You may find a more traditional low carb diet works better for you 🤷♀️.
Do you have high fat/ protein breakfast ideas for me to try - I can’t survive without breakfast, I become shaky, weak , like hypoglycemia symptoms . I am more productive having breakfast. Thank u
Noticed towards the end of the list you put 100 spears of broccoli -- however, you had already included 9 cups of broccoli earlier in your list, and typically you don't call individual florets "spears", so I'm assuming you meant asparagus?
I'm struggling on carnivore 7 days a week.. I'm going to try carnivore mon-fri the keto sat/sun.. and save my 50g for the TV at night.. which is where my cravings increase. Sound like a good idea?

In general, I hope you realize that our prehistoric ancestors, the cavemen, the hunters, didn't chase the game with a calorie chart under their arm, and didn't count on a calculator or smartphone apps how many grams of this or that food group or macronutrients they were allowed to eat! Yet they were much healthier than the population today!
Yay! Hoping you do a what I eat in a day on this too
carb eating frequency also matters, due to it's effect on insulin and counter regulatory hormones
But I'm back on low carb very low to no sugar and have lost weight, and in a month lowered my a1c to 10.2, another month and I should be down to 8.++
if you had diabetes.. you sure would know how to manage it well. so much knowledge and understanding.
So meticulously explained

After being on keto for 2 years & reaping its health benefits & weight loss I thought I'd try carnivore for its simplicity of keeping carbs low. But I've never been a big meat eater so I found carnivore to be a boring & cheerless diet for me. Also, eating the much greater amount of protein with carnivore caused my blood sugar to rise due to gluconeogensis, often staying above 100 for the day, only coming down after a day of fasting.
I could eat brussel sprouts everyday for life. They are so delicious with salt and pepper. And a sweet potato too. :)
Roasted with bacon, so good!
I'm going to order my eating first protein then fat then starch and last carbs. I also will cool any carbs. I'll add apple cider vinegar
I’ve been doing it for 20 years 😊
Actually the ketogenic diet was the original name coined in the 1920s!
Ketogenic way of eating originated in 1920’s by Dr. Wilder (I think that was his name) of the Mayo Clinic as treatment for children with epilepsy.
@@sharjda_GodsLove
Seriously? I had no idea. Thanks.
@@willo8794 You are welcome! I did some research before I started🤗
@@sharjda_GodsLove are you serious? When I was a kid my bastard doctor had me taken five pills a day for epilepsy. That son-of-a-bitch should have put me in a low-carb diet when I was a kid.. that would have helped my life in many ways
Nice one Kait!! I find that if I eat a 50g or less carb snack at the end of my hamburger beef bowl I dont chase carbs even if sugar, I quess because im stuffed and ate all that fat and protein prior. About every 3 to 5 days I eat a tiny something good lol
May be correct about the amount of carbs in 2 1/2 avocado salt whatever it was but what about net carbs? 3 g of carbs net…
HI Kait 🙂👋, Wow the quantities were Surprising Great information in the video good job. 😁👍☕
😇😇
Marry Christmas Kait thank you for all your hard work and dedication =)
Merry Christmas John! 🤗
Very helpful in visualizing the limits of carb intake, gave me ideas on what to snack on😊

Was the 50g each item on each list or each list was 50g?
@@turbosupra2jzdragracingtob249 Each item
@@turbosupra2jzdragracingtob249 good question. I was a bit confused thinking she was going to show us what 50 g looks like in regular foods, like breads, cereals.
Then I had the same question you had. Toward the end of one list she did say, “or”, so I figured it was each item.
I did carnivore for about 6-7 weeks and felt amazing … EXCEPT for the leg cramps!! That is the ONLY reason I am going to keto… hope I feel as good !
Electrolytes!!!!!!!!
Been to Hong Kong for 3 months . Their diets? Noodles, milk tea/coffee for breakfast, fried rice for lunch, and rice again for dinner…and hk are one of the longest life expectancy.

@@HealthCoachKait what about Italian ? Korean? Lotssssa of carbs how do they stay so thin eating all of that PURE carbs ? Myth ? 🤔
Which app do you use
I love you Kait you are so super and symphatic 😀love to watch all your videos👏

Your videos are so good. Thank you.
In my country the avocados are huge. Can u give avocados in terms or cups or size. Thank you.
could you do a similar video about protein please?!
Good idea!!!!!
You did not mention about bread and rice. Tks for the video
If fiber cannot be digested, why should it be counted in your carbohydrate count?
Finally someone not pushing 20 or less carbs ! 50 I can live with !
Hello dear and a happy new year. Does it matter what type of carbs you eat even though you stay under 50 grams?
love your info and style. thankyou But could you water that plant its driving me crazy
I do 😭 I think it’s getting to much sun ugh
p.s. amazing to see a list like that! i love my blackberries & or raspberries 👍

Hi Kait! I am new here and just subscribed to this channel as well as your Instagram. I love the information you share. Been doing Keto since May and lost 43 pounds. I'm a Type-1 Diabetic and this way of eating has been incredibly good for me. I just wanted to add (if it hasn't been mentioned), that I use G Hughes dips, sauces and dressings on my foods. Saved my life. Give this a try if you haven't already and let us know what you think...🙂. Thanks so much for all the information you provide!
Ok I am going to TRY those G huges sauces- I have seen them
@@deborahb6294 I hope you like them!
I eat lots of fruit daily. Love fruit salads. How are you with eating fruit?
@@_josephbogdan_ Fruits get you out of ketosis very fast. They contain sugar. Consume only as a treat.
When I binge on carb bread dried fruits I drink lots of water I end up 1 kilo heavier the next day. And the only thing that helps is to drink 2 large cups of black tea to pee it all out
Each gram of carbs you eat requires around 4g of water for it to be stored.
I can lose weight fast by staying about 20 total. If I start counting by net carbs the loss stalls by it's ok for maintaining.
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and see you in the new year. Thank you for all the great advice in 2022

I know on carnivore you do not have to count calories…. Do you have to on keto?
Thanks, Kait! Lots of good useful information!
How can I do a one on one coaching session? Seems you only have courses.
Useful, Thank You Kait. Good to know
Photo on the video is misleading, I thought you were going to talk about food like bread, and usual carbs
Hi Kait I have a question what do you think would happen if you do carnivore, with 25 -50 grams of carbs, and high fat and moderate protein? My thoughts is to get my body gradually used to the amount of meat and fat and limit the adaptation toilet issues.
That's literally keto 😂
Now I heard stevia is safe on keto and low carb.is that true? I’ve been using it for a long time. Great 👍 vedio .I’m not a diabetic . I do a high a protein everyday after my fast.I do a 20 hr fast everyday.I eat 5 eggs with avocado 🥑. With low carbs. I do eat my blueberries in my Greek yogurt.and try to save the rest of my carbs for dinner
Stevia is 👍
Jen, I love your videos because you know what you are talking about and, because you are so nice to look at. Have a nice day.

These are the listed ingredients:
Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin), Water, Wheat Fibre (11%), Pea Protein Isolate (9%), Ground Golden Linseeds (7%), Humectant (Glycerol), Palm Oil, Raising Agents (Disodium Diphosphate, Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate), Wheat Gluten, Emulsifier (Mono and Di-Glycerides of Fatty Acids), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Stabiliser (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose), Preservative (Calcium Propionate), Salt, Wheat Starch, Flour Treatment Agent (L-Cysteine Hydrochloride)
Are they really Keto friendly??? Your help would be highly highly appreciated. Because I’m trying so hard as a type 1 diabetic with insulin resistance and PCOS to lose weight and control my blood sugars. It’s hard to be on a strict Keto diet but I’m trying to stay on top of it.
I love your content ❤
Have you tested your blood sugar after eating it? That will be your answer! A spike over +20 points and I would say it’s not keto friendly. I
Keto friendly or not, that is a serious ingredient list, and not much of it is good!
Why do you recommend counting total carbs rather than net carbs? Does fiber have a negative effect on ketosis?
Great video...we r just starting kego my wife diagnosed with colon cancer so we r getting to 50 carbs a day then go lower....im confused about if we do 50 carbs a day but yet the foods have sugar how do i count the sugar grams ALONG with the carbs to bring glucose down ? And second question im confused about the protein. Ive heard protein turns into glucose also so how do i measure intake on meats to keep glucose down.... please help with your experience and do have videos that break all this down ?... thank u Kait
this is where fasting comes into play. cut out the breakfast all together and you dont have to worry about macros or calorie intake etc.
Thanks Kait. Do you recommend staying in ketosis for long or cycling in and out every 2-3 weeks?
I've heard that every few months you should give yourself a week or two of eating carbs again to make sure your body doesn't basically forget how to use it as fuel.
What are your thoughts on Hero bread and stuff like that to stay around 50??
I've been diagnosed with evaluated prolactin. Quadruple the normal level. I've been placed on medication which is helping to reduce. I've been living a low-carb life style for the past two years and struggling to lose weight. Can you offer any advice?
Do you have meal plans on your website.
You’re the best! Merry Christmas to you and yours!🤗💗🎄🎁🙌
Merry Christmas to you too!!
Kait, this is most useful info as I'm just learning about intermittent fasting. Do oxo cube beverages break a fast?

Right!

energy is better in low-carb than in ketosis. You don't have to be in ketosis to burn fat.
It is definitely not better than ketosis!!
I played it and replayed it but can't figure out if you said 50g of nuts (pecans, walnuts and almonds) were each or total. TIA

@@HealthCoachKait 😁
For some reason when I eat a whole jar of nut butter in a day I don't put on any weight on 🤔.. doesn't work with any other food though
You have to eat 7700 calories above your energy needs to gain a kg of fat. Overeating on any particular day is not going to cause fat gain. It adds up over time.
Is it the whole category list or the individual item for the 50 carbs
What's the difference between total carbs and net carbs? So does your diet go under 50 total or net carbs
How do you mesure 50 cups of lettuce? !......
You don’t 😅 The point is you would have to eat an insane amount of lettuce to reach that carb threshold.
@@HealthCoachKait 😂🤣😭
Are you talking the whole list of the different foods or are those individual amounts that come to 50 carbs?
She meant individual amounts
for me, with 50 gr carbs I don't loose weight. I have to stick to 15 to 20 grams a day.
I didn’t think fruit and veg was carbs? Have I got that right? Please explain carbs.
There are 3 macronutrients (nutrients we consume in large quantities): protein, fat and carbs. Fruit and veg are mainly carbs and have trace protein and a some of a bit of fat.
@@HealthCoachKait so I’ve given up bread and mostly potatoes and increased fruit and veg. Is that wrong then? I never considered veg as carbs!
You may find a more traditional low carb diet works better for you 🤷♀️.
how do you stop symptoms of ketoacidosis when eating below 50g carbs? i've been experiencing symptoms after only one day of eating low carbs..
Is this each item or all on the list?
Good info.continue
Your the best Kait ,anyway carbs are so addicting.
Do you have high fat/ protein breakfast ideas for me to try - I can’t survive without breakfast, I become shaky, weak , like hypoglycemia symptoms . I am more productive having breakfast.
Thank u
Since when are 50g of carbs keto friendly? I have always read that the maximum should be 30g , some even say less than that
Its highly variable between people, some highly active people can go up to 100g and remain in ketosis.
Noticed towards the end of the list you put 100 spears of broccoli -- however, you had already included 9 cups of broccoli earlier in your list, and typically you don't call individual florets "spears", so I'm assuming you meant asparagus?
That would be telling!
Thanks so much! great reinforcement to my food plan!
❤️❤️
Hi Kait, I'm a new subscriber and a data nerd can you point me toward data that supports the 50 carb verses the 20 carb ketosis ? Thanks
50g total carbs. Usually when people aim for 20g it is net carbs.
How does one find keto omad or 2mad or ketovore omad or 2 meals a day.
I'm struggling on carnivore 7 days a week.. I'm going to try carnivore mon-fri the keto sat/sun.. and save my 50g for the TV at night.. which is where my cravings increase. Sound like a good idea?
What foods are you planning on having for your 50g carbs? Could potentially be a good strategy. Give it a try and if it doesn’t work be prepared to adjust!
Nothing wrong with trying something, realising it’s not going to work and then switching it up 🙂
