I remember Kait from a few years ago, seems like yesterday, she was good then but she has become a true superstar of the keto/carnivore world and she is just beginning to reach her stride. I am so proud and happy for her but even more for the untold number of people that will find the benefits of the low/zero carb omad diet due to her marketability and professionalisms.

Great content as usual, Kait. Hehe @ get to the “meat” of your video about carbs. I was diagnosed T2D in October and I followed typical diabetic nutritional advice (lots of snacks, oatmeal for breakfast) and got nowhere. IF and low carb have been hugely effective in improving my blood sugar and the side effect of finally being able to lose weight (mostly visceral fat). If I keep under 20g of carbs my BG is normal and I can see an improved response after only 2 months (and dropping 22 lbs) on my occasional cheat days. I don’t eat breakfast so I suppose I carb load at my first meal after 18 hrs but even then it’s typically under 10g. Thanks for the advice about “hidden” carbs. Reading nutrition labels is shocking some days!

When I was a senior in high school, I went on a three week weight loss journey (was cut short because of domestic problems and discouragement). I had no idea I was in ketosis almost all day, at least five days a week. Here's what I did:
Fast until my lunch period, which was around 1 pm. I ate a salad because everything else was unhealthy
Drink A TON of water, lemon water in the morning
Quick workout in the morning before school, 15-30 minutes, I think
Then walk to the library/home after school everyday, about 15-20 minutes
Then eat whatever my mom made (which usually included fats, carbs, and protein)
I think I would only eat one serving
Not sure what I did over the weekend, but I did that at least five days a week every day for three weeks and lost 9 pounds
That was the best I felt mentally, physically, and emotionally, probably in my whole life. I never felt that good after I quit. I often think of going back to that routine. I'm pretty sure I was eating less than 100g of carbs a day and burning the fat off with the exercises and cleaning my system out with all the water I drank. My skin was better, I lost weight, and I'm sure I would have had more benefits if I stuck with it. I'm doing full keto now, but I often think of switching back to that three week system. However, I'm not quitting keto yet, if ever. I want to give it a few months and see how I feel, though I wholeheartedly agree with you that we should eat whole foods, specifically animal foods, so if it doesn't work for me, I'll still keep that in mind to eat meat as a base to my diet. So yeah, that's it. It's tough and I'm still getting cravings from time to time, but it's a discipline thing, mind over matter. I'm not gonna quit just to indulge on some crappy (delicious) food. I'm doing this for my health and weight loss.
    Sorry for the long comment*

Thanks so much for sharing this informative video. I've been a LCHF and IF adherent for almost 6 years. I do it in rather a basic way: I don't eat 'breakfast' until around 1 pm; and I don't eat bread, rice, potatoes, pasta or cereals.
However, recently, I've been following some of Ben Bikman's lectures, and just wondered what 50g of carbs looks like. Thank you for answering that question so clearly.👍

I started my diet 19 days ago. It’s not a keto diet but it might as well be because everything I do is what is in the keto diet except for the meat. I’m not a big meat eater. I keep my carbs under 50. I also joined the gym when I started my diet. I exercise 1.5 to 2 hours each day. I’m almost down 5 kilos so I’m very happy with the results as I wasn’t expecting such a weight loss to begin with. I’m guessing that my body is in ketosis? as my diet consists of fruits and veggies. No unprocessed foods or junk food, just clean healthy foods and I’m loving it. I get excited to try new things to cook for my meals.

This is random but does sugar cause edema more than salt? I saw a video of yours stating that salt isn''t that bad so I was wondering if my edema could be from sugar. I ate a high salt diet for years without swelling but ate more sugar than usual for a few months and experienced extreme edema and low energy. I'm hoping your thoughts can confirm mine or provide the correct answer.

Thanks for the videos. My wife and I (late 40's) are both looking at starting a keto diet because of outstanding health issues. So we are both learning the basics. I was wondering about the carbs you do eat on a keto diet. Say you are intermittent fasting and you only eat two meals a day. Your first meal is all protein and fat, is it ok to use up all your 50g of carbs during dinner? And would it be ok to eat 50g/carbs worth of pasta/tortilla/bread? Just curious if it is more important to not eat any of those things or just keep your carbs below 50g a day. I'm sure the answer is out there on the webs but I'm a lazy noob. Thanks!

Fat is clinically proven to buffer the effect of carbohydrates / blood glucose. And some cheese daily, real cheese has zero carbs but do mind the amount of fat in it a bit.

How do you feel about using white rice only as the carb? I feel when I eat veg I break out like crazy not sure why.... normally I’ll have bulletproof coffee for “ breakfast “ avacado and a protein for lunch and for dinner I have about 1/4 cup of white rice witch is 36G of carb and no veg at all
I did full carnivore for 6 months but I’m a mom and work FT so if one day I didn’t have enough fats I’d be sick or if I had too much elecrolights id feel sick so I like how to rice keeps my balanced. Do you think that’s a good option to add it or cut it out and try full carnivore again

I have the rice on the side of my fats and protein not alone

I was also thinking adding another avacado and cutting the rice

Also mention Noble Made sauces from New Primal. Their smokey BBQ is a fantastic all purpose sauce.

Can you eat beans? I know they have carbs but some have a low glycemic load.

Thank you for your informative video, can you please make a video on vegan keto diet? What would be the examples of 50g carbs if one is on such diet?
    Thank you:)

Vegan keto is basically impossible 🥴 Extremely difficult to get enough protein and keep your carbs low. ruclips.net/video/uieivKzQ9no/видео.html
