I’ve been making it a habit to binge a few of your videos every night, and though I’m relatively new to tarot, I feel like I’m at a point where my intuition is starting to do its thing. I had to comment my thoughts about the emperor card because it made immediate sense to me. Poppies indeed invoke fallen heroes and wartime, but more importantly they are the biggest lesson for our dear Emperor. Stability, order, power, and protection are necessary, but the emperor must not forget to consider their cost. He does not get and maintain his power alone, and leading only with an iron fist would assure the entirety of his kingdom will only be a field of poppies - mere memories of the cost of recklessly wielding that power. This card invites us to consider the costs of our power and stability, or our journey toward it, and to consider its impact outside of ourselves. Just throwing my thoughts in! This deck has pulled me into the scenes more than any other, so off I go to add it to my cart. Thank you for your thoughtful insights on this beautiful deck!
salamanders :) Salamanders also know how to use the destructive force of fire for good. Fire energy allows for renewal and regrowth. Every flame and fire has a guardian
Oh wow, I'm lost for words to describe the wonderfulness of this deck. It's so intelligent and when you described 'the devil' card it made so much sense. These images are so beautifully positioned to take in all the magic and presence in a moment in time. I want this deck, it has so much to teach.
I very much like the concept of this deck and the artwork is lovely. I saw right away the distinction between the Empress (organic wildflowers fruitful and naturally multiplying) and the Emperor (bold red courageous flowers organized and planted firmly in regimented rows); and the Devil (like the restraining chains restricting you, keeping you from the light; you aren't trapped, but you have to make the effort to squeeze through the darkness and reach the light); I believe the lizards in the Wands are salamanders, affiliated with fire.
I love this deck. It is so easy to sink into - I can stand in every card. It is just so easy, simple, yet lovely. So I had to look up the poppy for the same reason. I was trying to get connection. This is what I found that worked for me: “a symbol of Remembrance and hope, including hope for a positive future and a peaceful world. ...”
This deck is just begging you to walk into the images ... almost like inviting you to a scene. I LOVE IT. I need it... I must wait till August. I WILL WAIT
I love that this deck is made in a way that you yourself are seeing the point of view of the card’s archetype... it’s not that the figures are missing, or not included, YOU are the figure! I backed the Kickstarter and just adore this deck 🥰
But the way, the wands has the family of salamanders for the court cards. I feel like the five of cups are so different because you can’t see the world around you due to your grief... at last that’s my interpretation 🤷🏻♂️
I get what you mean about the Emperor card, I would add though that my initial thought upon seeing the field of poppies was 'order'. Its nature but its ordered nature. All the poppies are in neat rows. Hes taken what was haphazardly growing and has brought order to it. The tower spoke to me too; the manmade cairn being torn down. Sometimes the things we build have to come down.
The Empress and Emporer really interest me, the bird of prey in the Empress hints at the danger in nature, the poppies in the Emporer can remind us of war but also medicine and science in the sense of opiates, plus the imagery of fields of crops planted maintained and ordered compared to the fecundity and chaos of the Empress. Its a very cleaver juxtaposition.
I absolutely loved this walkthrough Simon, your thoughts on the cards but also your voice in this one was so wonderfully calming, I could have listened to you forever. Such a beautiful deck, I love mine 😍❤️
I wasn’t sure how I’d get along with this deck but I adore it! I felt a connection as soon as it arrived. It’s been really helpful paired with my therapy work. I didn’t realize until you mentioned it but you’re so right, these images really do let us step into the place of the archetypes. I’m so glad I got to hear your thoughts on it! Many blessings :)
my Spacious tarot is enroute, should be here today or tomorrow. I didn't take a lot of notice the first time I saw it but when I watched a mini walkthrough I was absolutely gobsmacked by how easily I became the POV 'narrator'. I haven't been doing this long enough to try to put myself into cards but this entire deck didn't wait to be asked :) And the colours 💖 And the bears !! 💖 💖 (me too Simon) also love the colours of the cups. It's just a unique deck that makes me wonder why we need people on cards at all whenever I am looking at it. Thankyou for your wonderful review Simon 💖

The Emperor oh my gosh I'm typing and you're saying it - it reminds me of war. And rows of them! But the card is beautiful. I'm at the Chariot ..typing whilst viewing and strength! This deck might have to make it's way to the Hacienda Pequena!
It’s one of my favourite decks and the quality of production is up there with This Might Hurt and Light Seers (indie). I think it would feel right at home at the Hacienda Pequena! 🙏🏼♥️

clare5 one yes! I’ve got over 200 decks. I think I’ve got enough gooey gloss and badly printed. There are enough high quality that small businesses are creating.
The artwork is just beautiful. I appreciate the concept, but it is a bit too pipish for me. If all of them had been done more like the Fool, where you can picture the scene instead of pips for the minors, I may have wanted to get it. It is beautifully done, though, just for the artwork alone. Thank you as always for sharing.
Book Lioness I agree, it’s totally beautiful. I guess it’s difficult to not have a PIP deck when you remove the humans from the minors, because you still have to have the right amount of wands, cups, pentacles etc 🙏🏼♥️

It makes it more unique for me. I love things with errors. I didn’t want to swap my Hierophant card in the True Black Tarot for that reason 😝
From now on I’m mostly collecting unusual decks (if mass produced) and really good quality. I’d rather buy one good one than 5 gooey gloss. 😆
