Miss san antonio (home), its hard to explain the culture without actually being there but there are plenty of hidden gems if you look and want to look for them
I'm a new transplant to San Antonio; Bakery Lorraine is my absolute favorite! I do have to say that you guys did a disservice to yourselves by not seeing the other missions...Mission San Jose is beautiful and primarily in-tact and makes the Alamo look very boring. But all in all it is a very charming, LOW-KEY city. The hike and bike trails that weave in and out of the city along the river and a few creeks are pretty awesome as well.
The food looks amazing. I can't really find anything like that here in Southern California. I will definitely have to take a trip to San Antonio. Thanks for sharing you two.
I love watching the visitors videos of San Antonio even though I have lived here most of my life. Youi really did miss out by not visiting the other Missions. Some do have active services so Sunday is not the best day of the week to visit. Other places you might enjoy in that same area of town are the Hot Wells Spa Conservancy, Stinson Airfield and the Mission Reach South section of the San Antonio River. Confluence Park is another beautiful spot in the same area of town. Southtown has many restaurants and galleries.
I’m looking into visiting with wife , 3 kids and grandma . I’m just wondering if SA is the right place for family vacation . We want to try somewhere new coming from California . I’ve been to New Orleans , New York , Chicago . Miami. So I’ve been thinking of San Antonio
Loved this video! Watched in Spanish with my mom and then English for myself. We went to SA last year but I wanted to give my mom another “virtual” tour of SA without going to SA. Thank you for that because she loved the Spanish video and she really liked y’all too! 🥰 Oh, & Juliana, please 🙏🏼 give us details 🔗 on that necklace combo! I absolutely love them but I love the shortest necklace even more. 😊
Wow! Thanks so much for sharing with us. We are so glad to hear that making videos in both languages has helped :D Thank you thank you thank you! Here's the link to the necklace....it's pretty much my go to necklace these days and it's only $13! amzn.to/3CgeWne
HI! Thank you for your video! I live south side San Antonio (by all the other missions) and I wanted to let y'all know we do have homemade corn tortillas! and salsa verde. Those two are the norm in my area :)
Great Video! Ive been a local here for almost 16 years and I have been to many of those places. Lol I pass Two Bros every week on my way to do laundromat and gym, I didn't know it was that good. Maybe I will have to try it one day.
Great video, thank you for visiting my beautiful city. Great Mexican heritage but San Antonio has many ethic roots and a big German community as well. I'm Argentine/ American .. so lots of different cultures here. I live in Monte Vista / Alta vista, just north of Downtown. They're are great Historical districts: Alamo Heights , Monte Vista , Pearl District, Terrill Hills, King Williams . I've been everywhere, but born and raised here and love the low key , yet beautiful place. Unfort. this is not a secret anymore.. too many Cali's are moving here. stop !! lol.
We heard that San Antonio does have a huge German community! I wish we ran across some German places to highlight. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks so much for watching!
Sure, South Town, where King Williams is located. Fun fact that is the first neighborhood of San Antonio. after independence, where German immigrants settled. You see a lot of Victorian manors there. . German communities also.in New Braunfels/ /San Marcus. just outside of SA. There are a lot of folk German festivals again usually near King Williams District. Hope that helps.
@@TouristtoLocal It's the little towns around San Antonio that are the German gems. Fredericksburg and New Braunfels in particular, which have German festivals every year. But in the SA city proper, the German church, St. Joseph, is downtown. Schilo's Deli is a staple.
@@AngelaSealana also Beethoven Maennerchor in King William. Great German beer hall where oompa bands still play on weekends. It's a must stop on First Fridays when the whole area comes alive for the art walk/party. Oktoberfest is right around the corner.
Native to San Antonio. We eat flour tortillas here, except for street tacos. TexMex is flour tortillas. The Pearl is not the beginning of the Riverwalk. We are military city USA. Y’all didn’t even really mention the German influence in SA. I also would’ve appreciated y’all talking about our breakfast tacos (flour tortillas ). I wish I could’ve been your guide of SA. God Bless Texas!
Lovely video! You're welcome to visit again soon! 🥳🌞 SA has always been one of the most diverse cities in the Southwest, way before the military and even before it was under the USA flag. That's one reason I am proud and happy to be San Antonian.
Hi Angela! Lord willing I’ll be in SA in two weeks. Are there other spots to visit or eat not mentioned on the video that you as a local would recommend? I would appreciate it very much if you would be so kind. In advance, thanks! God bless!
@@AngelaSealana good afternoon to you. Thank you for your prompt response! You’re so kind! I’ll be staying for a weekend only. I’m visiting my daughter who is in the navy. We both want to see the Alamo and river walk and watch Thor haha. Besides that we’re open to any ideas you might have. I’m renting a car so if you suggest something outside the downtown area it wouldn’t be a problem. Btw, Happy 4th of July.
@@carloshernandez-bm7hp If you go to the Pearl, you will be able to walk along the river, enjoy great restaurants, and a great atmosphere. It is a former brewery that was converted into many shops. However if you are looking for Mexican flavors, La Fonda is popular. Places only locals visit include El Siete Mares and La Paloma Blanca. Enjoy your stay, and thank you to your daughter for her service!
Hubby and I will be staying at Riverwalk. We do not plan on renting a car. Were the places you went to in this video within walking distance of Riverwalk?
Almost all of these were within walking distance. The Pearl was a bit of a walk, but totally possible. Ray's Drive Inn and the BBQ place, in the beginning, were not within walking distance.
Hey girl I'm moving to San Antonio Texas or Waco. I think I went with you to the same elementary or Jr. high or High School. You look familiar, my name is Maria Godinez Reyes
They were made by brothers Henry and Ray Lopez. They came up with the concept while cooking at Ray's restaurant, Ray's Drive Inn, in the 1950s. Henry split off from Ray a few years later and opened his own restaurant, Henry's Puffy Tacos.

For the people coming in from other super expensive states(California, N.Y. etc...) those prices seem like a steel. But for us regular folks from these areas those prices are ridiculously over priced. New comers to this state are pushing prices to the moon!!! And the greedy real estate agents are filling their pockets. No wonder I see more homeless people on the streets then ever before!!! Look at Austin , I am horrified!!!! TX. IS LOOKING LIKE California!!!😳
If you're of Mexican descent. The Alamo would be an in the area stop. I've been there many times and it's easy walk absorb the history, artifacts, patriotism, American struggles, culture, etc.. Then have to see Hispanic people cheer by Santa Annas bed and other artifacts. Very disrespectful. If Mexico is so great go back.

San Antonio has a distinctive culture, natural beauty, history and architecture as well as the city's overall beauty!
It's a very unique place and up there on my list of favorite cities in the USA for sure!

Check out La Panadaria and La Boulangerie sometime if you haven't! And the best corn tortillas... maybe Cascabel Mexican Patio or Carnitas Lonjas.
I think San Antonio has great Art, Music, History, Food and People!
I agree!
You must be in upper echelon
Love the trails! Love how many people take advantage of it!! Gonna try Two Bros... surprised I've not heard of it. Thanks for making our place so fun!

There are 3 bases in San Antonio. Randolph AFB, Fort Sam Houston, and Lackland being the biggest one.

It use to be 5 with Brooks and Kelly. Also with Camp Bullis right outside the city
