    so i did the math, and in order for there to be a 4 FRAME DIFFERENCE at 120 fps, the nacon controller would have to be reporting at LITERALLY 30 HZ. 30 responses a second. there is no way in hell sony is not tampering with the speeds on these controllers, either that or the ps5 software is just dogshit for 3rd party controllers and causes them to report at 30 hz. this is blowing my mind rn. my math is basically the dualsense is reporting at 250hz. the nacon reports in at an average of 4 frames worse than the dualsense at 120 fps. 4 frames at 120fps is .032 seconds. aka youd have to divide 120 fps into 4 giving you 30fps, aka 30hz. this also lines up with the .033 second response time of 30 hz. either sony needs to update their software to fix this issue ASAP or they are doing it on purpose. id be willing to bet the latter.

    I really wish this video was released before I bought the Nacon PS5 edition.
    On a side not, do you have any tips for getting the Nacon stick sensitivity to mimic a PS5 controller? I seem to be struggling a lot finding the settings that perfectly emulate a standard PS5 controller.

      Hey I wish the same bro, as I spent a lot on BFG and Nacon thinking they'll be the solution for my xbox controller layout preference. For Nacon response id suggest using the medium shaft insert with linear response and FPS pro mode. Once you are adjusted to the response timing its actually a really solid controller and I do enjoy using it a lot. If I never tried the Edge back to back to Nacon I'd be happy with the Nacon, but I have to say once you try the aim feel of edge you definitely feel the difference. I hope maybe something can happen with firmwre update, but I think the issue is Sony side and we are not going to get the true performance until Sony fixes it, I wish I had a PC to test this as well somthing I'm hoping to get soon to be able to these tests.

    I have the dualsense edge and also tried out the ps5 aimcontroller for a couple of weeks because i found one on amazon, allowing me to test and return it. The ergonomics of the aim ps5 were definitely better because of the placement of the paddles, as well as the rubber grip in the back, but it felt slightly slower than the edge. The only problem with the last statement is that i already knew it was going to be slower, so its unclear how much of that is a placebo effect. I still prefer the aim because of the ergonomics, and have ordered an aim ps5 with hall effect sticks. Might end up making a review once i receive it and get some playtime with it.
    I tested both on ps5, but mainly play on pc since i can overclock my aim ps4 to a 1000hz polling rate and comfortably use all 4 backpaddles. I still prefer the aim ps4 over anything else.

I felt the same when the G7se 1000hz came out and thought maybe its a placebo and there is no difference, but my testing proved otherise. Also bro please share with us if you do make a review of the Aim hall effect sticks controller.

    i have 2 questions :
    1. what do you recommend between victrix bfg pro, nacon revolution 5 pro and razer wolverine v2 pro. Basically which one is the best xbox style controller for ps5.
    2. which back buttons are better bfg or the nacon revolution

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  9 месяцев назад

      Hey bro so personally I'd say aiming performance on BFG and Nacon would be a tie. Nacon is a bit slower but will give you a true 0 deadzone option where as BFG has what I feel 3-4% deadzones. Back buttons are very different on both and for smaller to medium hands BFG is definitely going to win, for me personally I prefer the Nacon's back buttons. Razer Wolverine I can't say anything about the performance as I haven't tried it and it's a bit different to the xbox version, which I'm currently making review on. If you are on PS5 then having a Sony controller will give you an advantage over anyone using a third party controller.

    Loving these vids. I know it’s a tall ask or maybe at the least you’ll have some insight. I play a ton of MLB The Show, and for some reason the input delay is far worse on PS5 than Xbox. I did some crude testing with 240fps slow motion on my iPhone and did confirm it somewhat. Anyone that has played the game on both consoles will tell you this is true along with the pros. Any way for you to look in to this? FYI input delay is probably more important in this game than fps games bc of very fast pitching requiring very quick reaction.

      Hey can you share how you tested? is there a training mode or something? I havent played MLB but it might be that a button press response is more important than the stick movement register. I think button press input delay might be higher on different controllers. Definitely interested to test it and will look into it.

      @BassThrashin 9 месяцев назад

      @@thephototechy thanks for the response. Yes there is a practice mode for the game. I did use stick movement to test although button press is actually what swings the bat. I was using the pitcher and moved the aim of the pitch while he was waiting to throw. Trying to actually use the hitter will be more difficult as the game starts the batters motion automatically. But I did think of a way to test with the batter. You can press the bunt button before the pitch and likely get an accurate result but I haven’t tried yet.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey so this is a very interesting observation. if you remember my first ever review of G7se at launch I felt the controller to be sluggish and that really divided the opinion alot, if we take a closer look at G7se, it has .56 register per increment so not the highest resolution but higher than PS5 controller. Snakebyte Pro and Stealth Ultra have much higher register per increment which means lower resolution but quick response. Nacon also has a higher resolution, even higher than G7se and that could be a contributing factor to a slower initial response. Also G7se in 250hz is slower than other 250hz controllers, but in 1000hz its a different beast, that slower response goes away combined with lower deadzones needed on the controller really makes the aim feel something else. I'm thinking of making a video on G7 vs G7se in 1000hz soon.

      @thephototechy very interesting. Looking forward to the video. Also, I think you really do a technical analysis of HE vs potentiometer. It seems to me like the BFG would be comparable to the DSE, if it didn't have the deadzones. Or maybe I misunderstood.

    I'm good with the Nacon, the latency is good enough for me.
    Plus the Hall Effect controllers. I LOVE Nacon's controllers, I'm gonna get myself the Revolution X Unlimited when it comes out. It's practically gonna be an Xbox equivalent to the Revolution 5 Pro, which is basically my first ever Nacon controller. The build quality feels like an Xbox controller, the design looks like a mix of the PowerA Fusion Pro 3 and the PS5 DualSense controller, and the back buttons feel natural to me. The battery life is good enough as well.

    i would really appreciate if you could run these same tests on pc with the exact same controllers and setup in the same game at the same fps. for me that will be the deciding factor of whether or not sony is tampering with their 3rd party controllers in the software and forcing artificial input latency onto them. there is no other explanation for this phenomenon outside of this, considering all the factors at play and all the testing youve already done. the only way i will believe this is an actual issue with the CONTROLLERS and not with sony slowing them down on purpose, is if the exact same latency happens on pc. needless to say i HIGHLY doubt it will. i would not at all be surprised to find out that sony is tampering with third party licensed controllers. maybe perhaps you could test more licensed 3rd parties on the ps5 and see if the inexplicable delay is still happening?

    this makes no sense to me, at first i thought it might be due to the higher polling rate of the dualsense, but thats not right, because the difference in the input delay of 250hz and 1000hz is literally .003 seconds, which is less than half of a frame at 120 fps. so there is no reason for the 4-5 frame difference you are showing with the victrix and nacon. the only thing i could suspect is sony deliberately slowed these controllers down to make their option more appealing, which if that is true, is absolutely disgusting and well, par for the course for sony. there is no other solution possible, even down to the hardware of the controllers themselves, as the controller would have to be reporting at like literally 30hz for the 4 frame difference to make any sense. it would also explain why the other wired xbox controllers you tested worked flawlessly and had the exact same response time. this reeks of sony meddling with the ps5 software to slow these controllers down on purpose. sounds like a conspiracy theory, but reality is often crazier than fiction, so im inclined to believe it. its sad too as the nacon is seriously probly the single best pro controller OUT right now in terms of the whole package you are getting. im still considering getting it for pc use if nothing else, as id be willing to bet the response time on pc will be 4ms and have no frame differences than any other controllers. unless there is an inherent problem with the sticks of BOTH the victrix and the nacon, coincidentally the only other 2 pro controllers anyone talks about for the ps5, and also 2 controllers that use entirely different stick modules, sony is up to something SCUMMY here.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey so I was thinking about this and have a theory, that Sony might be making the third party to have same latency in wired as wireless. There are no wired only controllers on Sony, and depending on one’s wireless solution, can depend how much latency there is. This could mean the controllers perform slower in wired as their wireless means is a dongle for communication. I do want to run tests on a pc but currently only on consoles, but hopefully soon I’ll be able to as I’m trying my best to get a gaming pc.
      Also Hall effect sticks with high resolution and 250hz can be a little bit slower, as I noted on G7se on Xbox. It’s the 1000hz of G7se that really makes it shine. The stealth ultra and Snakebyte gamepd pro on Xbox are using much lower resolutions, like half of G7se and then they are able to keep up with other 250hz controllers. So this could potentially be the factor for Nacon to be a little slower than BFG, but there’s definitely more latency on PS5 than seriesx for sure, and that’s noticeable in gaming to me as well.

      @@scragglie hey so they are a little different and what I mentioned about the resolution is something I’ve noticed. Higher polling rate really helps them or a lower resolution. Controller edge unfortunately, Sony was not able to raise the quality level. After using it for five months, (fn) was stuck I tried in every way to find a solution, unfortunately I did not find a solution to this problem.
    I will go to Sony maintenance soon!!

    Great video 🙌🏻
    I used em all and NOTHING! beats the G7 SE, only reason to use Edge on PS5 is because the Besaivor U5 doesn’t work atm so the best option is 💯 the Edge. But when the Besaivor u5 gets a firmware update the G7 SE is king again, it’s the undisputed king on Xbox and soon again on PS5.

      @@SalonikLive bro for me the Dualsense Edge has the best aiming experience on PS5, if you can deal with only 2 back buttons, then definitely the edge is the best option. If you need 4 back buttons then revolution is definitely better. Now there is an issue with stick modules availability for dualsense edge and so far I haven’t been able to order from anywhere unless I pay a lot more than the actual price.
