    You could also use flannel and tape it to the back using duck tape, as staples will pull out of that board easily

    My foam core board sits on a piece of aluminum bracketing. It keeps the board from kicking out. Mine leans against the wall and is 2 panels. It slides easy-ish. Double pronged jewelers pins are great for securing heavier items. I also baste my quilt on the design board

    • @juliamckenzie4510
      @juliamckenzie4510 2 года назад +4

      You don't need a table, Just use 2 sawhorses. Then, if you don't mount it to the wall, you can use the back as a table anytime you want to. I live in rv and store it under my mattress.

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 2 года назад +1

      And do it outside. I can’t believe he wasn’t using a mask when he was spraying all of that basting spray on. I was gonna suggest leaning it up against a wall outside of your house. And maybe using those clamps that you can buy from the dollar store I forget with a really called just to hold the batting in place you would probably need an extra pair of hands but it could be done

    • @SewYeah
      @SewYeah  10 месяцев назад

      Over time and with use, the batting will likely deform a little bit. But it should take a long time for the material to deform, so I would not worry about it! Plus, I believe you can pretty easily remove it and replace it!

    Did you use the cotton batting for this or polyester?

      You can use either, whatever you have and prefer. An 80/20 works great too. Thanks so much for watching! 😊🎈🙌

    What size board did you use.?

    • @SewYeah
      @SewYeah  2 года назад

      We aren't sure of the exact measurements, but we used a larger board for the store. It's probably about 5 x 8-ish feet. You can use any size that is good for you and your space! Thanks so much for watching and we hope you enjoyed the video!

    Curious as to the depth of the insulation board you and most people use with success; looks like they come in 1, 1.5, and 2 inch depths.

    I don't know how much your batting and spray is, but I live in BC, Canada, 5.56 oz or 158g of basting sray is$32.00 and you don't want to know how much our batting is! I'e tried hanging flannel, I've tried thin fleece and thick fleece, my stinking squares won't stick, stay up like everyone elses do!! WHY????????

    • @SewYeah
      @SewYeah  Год назад

      Sorry to hear you're having trouble! You can try using straight pins to hold up the squares, but we like to use batting. It seems to work the best for us. Good luck! Thanks for watching!

    Anytime you are using basting spray you’re supposed to be doing it in a well ventilated area. But that’s a guy for ya. And wear a mask Lord knows we have plenty of those around

    I have a black Doberman Pincher who is very “helpful”. His hair goes everywhere, even in rooms he is not allowed in. While the white allows me to find every single wayward hair, I think it would drive me crazy keeping it clean. I wish they had black batting! I’ll probably find something colored or speckled so it won’t be so noticeable. I wonder if the batting can stand up to lint rollers every day?

    • @FromSagansStardust
