Anne, any chance he could duck over to Melbourne when he's done?? 😂

I have a double closet in my sewing room. I purchased the easy to install "Quik hang" curtain brackets, a curtain rod the length of my closet that fits the brackets. I install on my top molding of the closet. I bought a wide piece of flannel with the grid, sewed a rod pocket. Viola! The rod/brackets do not hinder the opening and closing of my closet because they are above the doors. I can bring the flannel to the side and use a tieback when not in use. Also, I got the wide grid flannel for block placement, but I wish I had purchased a more coordinated flannel to match my decor. But, I still love it.

Thanks for sharing your idea 😊😊 trying to decide which direction I'm going with design wall options

I used peel and stick corkboard on my bedroom wall. Best decision in 40 years.

Corkboard never even crossed my mind! I love your idea!

My aunt is an awesome quilter she goes to a quilt shop in Mass and they us in the shop those plastic table clothes you put on a table with the fuzzy stuff on the back and it works. You can get them for like under 5 each and they tack it to the wall they have it in king, queen, full and twin . Mt aunt said it works great.

Well that would have saved me a little money! I didn't even think about that fuzzy backing. And king size would have been perfect!

You can also get various sizes of flannel backed tablecloths at The Dollar Tree and if it wears out or gets messed up in any way, it does not cost much to replace or update them.

Very innovative! I usually just tear longer lengths of flannel to yield a straight line on grain. For lighting, could you attach a long thin clamp style desk lamp to the trolley leg? Amazon has a ton of options. Thanks for reminding me about the 108 in wide flannel, instead of seaming together reg width flannel to cover mine!

I get nervous about trying to tear fabric! Thanks for the suggestion of the clamp lamp. I'll check out the options!

Thank you for the great video! My sewing room is upstairs and has the slanting ceiling like yours. I only use it for sewing, not a spare bedroom. I used decorative button pins and just pinned my flannel directly to the wall. Looking forward to your next video! 🎃🎃🎃

Thank you for watching! Slanting ceilings are cozy but don't offer a lot of hanging room!

That is so cool. New sub here. The pipe thingies are called pipe insulation or Armaflex. I desperately need a designwall, too. I bought ceiling mount curtain rods from Ikea to make one, but this will not happen this year. Hopefully, this will be a 2025 project.

Ooo ceiling mount curtain rods...a good idea!! I hope you get your design wall in 2025. Thanks for being a subscriber!

Use pins to keep your fabric in place.

I'm sure I'll be relying quite a bit on pins!

Love your cats pillow! My design wall is from Fons & Porter. My husband made me a huge wooden frame and stapled the F&P wall to the frame, then screwed the frame into the wall. It worked great.
A couple of pieces of PVC pipe might offer enough support on the back?

I think it's going to be ok after all when both panels are stacked and the cart is parked. It's so tall with both of them that I can't really wheel it around much!

Well done with the design wall it looks great. I love your sewing room. It’s awesome. One thing caught my eye though, the couch. I have been looking for a new couch because our pets have ruined our current couch. I love that your couch cover seems to be staying well in place. I am wondering if you can tell me where you got the couch. Thanks

The sofa is the "Kivik" model from Ikea and they still sell it. I've covered it with a quilt I bought from Target several years ago. Easy to wash when needed! Thank you for watching!
