- I'm liking these hypothetical situations, and to be honest, I like the look of this for potentially hosting F1. Maybe make the track a bit wider, plenty of room for runoff, maybe move the pits to the longest straight. Boom. A different British GP!
Enjoy! And remember to like and subscribe for more!

Would certainly be George Russell’s home race!
K
Was my home BTCC race for many years.
Theres so many mint tracks that just can't hold the event because of run off and facilities.
Snetterton looks fun but demanding physically
Can you do Kyalami in South Africa next? Keep up the great content!
I totally agree, Kyalami these days is a criminally overlooked track
@@alfredmadgwick9486 Yeah and the current layout wouldn't require much upgrading to get it from a grade 2 to a grade 1!
@@francoisg3500 And contrary to the rest of the tracks in the series from Aiden - Kyalami could actually work. It's long enough, wide enough, interesting enough.
For those who don't know, Snetterton has the Senna Straight, because that's where he came to learn how to race in Europe. There was one of the best schools around at the time (maybe still is?).
Great run! I love that track. Have fun tonight!
Definitely would love to see you at Thruxton in an F1 car. It's the fastest track for tin tops and bikes, so it would be fascinating to see how fast they'd go. Of course, F3 & Formula Ford and similar series go there.
I've tried an F1 around Thruxton in rF2 - it's bloody quick!!
I think it’s time for F1 to make 2 series.
F1 and F1Prototype
Prototype series allowing for more out there technology like a return to traction control, more free choice on engine. Due to extra power they need to build the car safer and in turn heavier. The cars then may be able to fit within a different track grade, and possibly even be fit for endurance style racing at longer tracks like lemans. This will allow current F1 drivers to race lemans without having to be signed by a current 24hr team.
F1 regular is to keep on the current path but with most tech advances coming from the prototype series. This will allow the standard F1 competition to then be closer as most teams will develop new gear within the new series, and the poorer teams will just run regular F1 taking tech pointers from simply watching and observing saving money in the process.
This way we may see F1 back at Adelaide, or a 2 race weekend at silver stone where they run the older bit of track between the pit straights, or make monza able to have cars run the chicaneless layout in the safer prototypes. I honestly can’t see F1 remaining relevant if it keeps going the way it’s going.
Jim Russell Racing School is the name you're looking for. He passed away last year. He himself was a former F3 and Le Mans driver who after injury would go on to teach Derek Bell, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jacques Villeneuve and even actor James Garner to handle a racing car, as Russell helped create pretty much all of the racing scenes in the 1960's F1 film 'Grand Prix'. He also was heavily involved in the Van Dieman Formula Ford team
The list isn't short lol
I'd love to see Watkins Glen go through the trials
Have you tried Laguna Seca in the US? It would be interesting to see if, with their extremely low ride height, F1 cars could handle the Corkscrew
I remember seeing a BTCC race at that track a few months back, and I had to look up why they called that one turn "Bomb Hole".... was not disappointed.
And was a pretty fun race to watch too.
Next up: can Snaefell Mountain Course (Isle of Man TT) handle F1?
Le Mans would be cool as well
Romain Moraux already done Le Mans
Jimmy Broadbent had done this a few times.
@@AidanMillward wait What
I need to search for it then might be an older vid
How about Sweet Lamb while we're at it?
Haven't been to Snetterton in probably 20 years or more. Last time i went i could swear the left hand side of the start finish area was wide open into an open field where Corn Cobs were growing..
Yes many a touring car ending up in there
Like Thruxton still is, onto the grass, into the weeds, into the wheat, gone.
fix0the0spade in to the ditches outside runoff of church corner
I approve of this idea. Bring on the Narfuk Grand Prix!
I know this isn't exactly on topic with this series but considering that it's very much in the plans, could you run a Formula E car around the full Monaco GP circuit?
It's my local track and been many many times. Did my first track day there the other day, absolutely cracking fun. Nailing Nelson is an absolute art.
Yet again another brilliant video. And thank you for showing the T bar cam view. Very much appreciated. Until next time.
Croft and Snetterton used to always be my favourite tracks back on the Toca Touring Car games back when you had about 8 polygons per car and tiff needell having soundbites of commentary and the special unlockable vehicle was a tank.... Ahh nostalgia
And a pink Cadillac
awesome content I love all your videos Aiden! you've inspired me to start making my own sim racing videos!
First there was Branch Davidian
Then, there was the Brundle Nelson Complex!
This is very quickly becoming my most anticipated series on RUclips
This looks like the perfect f1 track
One track that popped into my head was Anderstorp - would be good to see if they could hold a race there or at least one for this series.
YES! Repping the Toronto Blue Jays gear. Love it
Now I'm wanting to see the British GP at Oulton Park :P
A race around here would be absolutely chaos
*Aidan goes off at Brundle-Nelson*
Now I imagine a disembodied Brundle just going "What is Aidan doing?"
...and before that, at 4:20, coming through the final corner, I can hear Murray proclaiming "and it's GO! GO! GO!"
In 300 mode, it’s the second longest circuit in the UK. I live just 10/15 minutes from it. Love to see a GP but would probably be a logistical nightmare! There’s one hotel very close and one five minutes away (Breckland Lodge). Most people would have to camp, go to Norwich, Thetford, North Suffolk etc. It does have a camp-site. It’s longer than the FIA 3.5km minimum. Needs a new pitlane, paddock, hospitality, scrutineering bay, marshall points, medical facilities, media facilities, grandstands (might be unpopular on the pit straight..) run-off etc. A lot of expensive work! Unsure there is enough room. Some corners would have to be altered!!! Overtaking may be tricky.
Kylami and Long Beach would be good additions to the series. Plus maybe an episode for Indy GP and figuring out which layout would be best for f1.
New idea: Modern F1 at Indianapolis grand prix course.
This is the first time iv seen your actual face and I must say, your picture misled me to believe you had more hair 😂😂 all jokes aside I'm real glad I found your channel, very entertaining, love the long history lesson style videos, packed full of facts!
I had more hair when I made it 😂
Not just grass on the outside of the corners, its usually Cabbages - been in them a few times ;)
Road America would be a fun formula one race, a little bit of everything there
Seems that the existing start/finish straight and paddock is "suited" for an F1 race. To me at least. Nice track, never seen in full glory before
I know that this will be crazy fast in F1 cars, but Thruxton would be insane with the downforce in these cars
Obligatory radio message @ 7:24
Pronto?Aiden?
love this series! would love to see one or two of the american tracks like Road Atlanta or Barber motorsports park. or maybe former USGP tracks like long beach or sebring. Wonderful video!
Would honestly love to see Lewis spin at his own corner.
@David Brown What the hell does racism have to do with it?
@@lucasbailey8878 it's 2020, you can't say anything without it being misinterpreted.
I've ridden Snetterton 300 on motorbike trackdays and it is indeed fun. Not sure it would ever be F1 standard, whatever you did to it though.
They also have verrry strict noise regs thanks to pesky locals, which would probably nix any hope Snett had.
Aidan: I can probably do a 1:17
Also Aidan: 1:16.7
Small world fact for me too - Alexander Albon went to school in the same town as me. Ipswich!
The track doesn't have a TENTH of the seating capacity required, but HEY. It's 2020 and that's no longer a deal breaker ;) Would you please consider doing VIRginia International Raceway in the US?
A hot lap of Slovakia Ring in an F1 car would be interesting. If you aren't careful you could land in Hungary
Can't wait to use this track in ride 4.
Wouldn't surprise me if they announced the British GP at Whilton Mill Kart track. 2020 is crazy enough already.
I've watch you sim drive around Bathurst a couple of times, so instead could you try a modern F1 car on Phillip Island and/or Eastern Creek aka Sydney Motorsport Park as alternatives to Albert Park in Melbourne?
He's got the flow Bichette Jersey Let's go
I wish the British GPs could go on rotation, so the BTCC tracks would get upgrades in certain parts to get Grade 1 status. That way the British GP track changes each year, so there's variety.
was testing at snett in my prod saloon golf in 1994 getting ready for a round of the firestone production car championship when lotus rocked up and we were all asked if it would be ok if lotus could do some laps while we were testing, well aiden did you know johnny herbert and alex zanardi can do nearly 3 laps to my measly 1 well they can and it is bloody terrifying! alex undertook me into the bombhole and nearly sucked the paint off my car so i called it quits till they had done their system checks and finished off before i dared venture out again this was the old circuit before they ruined it with all that fiddly diddly infield bit and the old coram before that was ruined by an exesive reprofile.
Love the knitted tights on the footcam.
Noice.
They’re my socks. I was driving in shorts.
@@AidanMillward I jest. Although racing compression tights, are they a thing? They should be now I've thought of it.
I live about 25 minutes away from this track, i would cry of happiness if there was an f1 race there
Same here.
Same, would be brilliant.
I'm new to F1 so idk if I'm just confused or if someone just edited the photo, but at 1:52, is the front support piece for the halo edited out of the photo?
That's an option within the game. You can turn off the Halo Column so it doesn't obstruct your vision. It's a screenshot in-game with that setting on.
One of these for Phillip Island circuit would be pretty cool!
Haven’t lotus got their own test track also in Norfolk?
Hethal
As this is like 30 mins away from me so awesome to see shame it will never happen
Let's have a Formula 1 event at Snetterton, on the proviso that Stephen Fry is part of the broadcast team: apart from being a long-time resident of Norfolk, he's previously cited 'Snetterton' as among his favourite place names.
Now we gotta do a lap at Turkey 😁
Kyalami next would be sick!
Hello Aidan, who’s on the back of the Blue Jays jersey?
Love the series
You know it's promising when you can't tell where the pit lane ends and the circuit starts.
That 7:40 slide though, you’ll find most of the aliens likely take that exact line
Albeit with a tad more traction
Could you do it with Mondello Park for the banter? Great video mate
I miss the Snetterton Market on a Sunday even on race day
A Blue Jays shirt/jersey? Good to see more MLB stuff in the UK
Laguna Seca and/or Long Beach could be interesting as well!
Nice lap at the end there :)
Sounds good to me, it’s right on my front door!
i would love to know if that tree thats cheering you on as you go into the wilson hairpin if thats there for real?
It was, but sadly the "arms" fell off in a storm earlier this year.
It was called the "Scary Tree" but I also think it looks like a cheering spectator.
Thanks Adolph!
I live a couple of miles from Snetterton and I’m there most weekends
assetto corsa the Indy Oval, Circuit de la Scarthe and the Old Osterriechring in an F1 car, Osterreichring surely would be amazing
Hey Aidan, can you do Potrero de los Funes circuit in Argentina? I think it could really suit F1 and it was recommended even on BBC!
The prob is that It's Grade 2
I've always thought Thruxton would be amazing to watch f1 cars. Surely it would be the fastest road circuit in the world on average speed? Even higher than monza
I think there are a couple of good tracks in the US that could be good for F1. Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca and Sonoma should be pretty good. I would love to see F1 cars going through the corkscrew at full chat.
Nice jersey!
Snetterton is my local track and I absolutely adore it every time I'm there. With the right facility upgrades it could make a decent high speed F1 track, but (like all of these theoreticals) money is the big issue. I'd prefer to see Formula E start using some of the "local" tracks, like Snetterton and Brands Hatch to give them another TV deal, and a bit more cash.
Formula E at Mallory would work. That hairpin is good for a few overtakes.
Final chicane used to be named Russell - like the lass in that Bloodhound Gang song
Dubai Autodrome is miles better that Yas Marina, you should try there! Also I think Virginia International could be interesting although they would definitely have to widen it
Closing in on Sim Dane's subscriber numbers, aiden
Guess that makes you an alien, goodluck in the race this evening
Man, this might as well be Britain's version of Laguna Seca
Would like to see Oulton Park in the playlist
Road Atlanta. I think Marc Gene has the lap record in some sort of fezza.
Please do Kyalami or Sebring next that would be really cool to see
If Only Oggies was a triple apex right, followed by a triple apex left called Ois. Then at least once through "The Oggies and Ois Complex" with an onboard camera, David Coulthard (yes, I'll take Channel 4 coverage over Sky every single time, even if that means I only get highlights for now) can call out: "Here we go then.... Oggy Oggy Oggy" followed by Ben Edwards (or Mark Webbed) returning "Oi Oi Oi!"
Yes, it's convoluted... But I've nothing better to do at this precise moment.
F1 at Thruxton next please!
"bomb hole"... Totally heard bum hole...
I need rest asap...
Than brundle/nelson combination would need a huge runoff area.. and it might be too spicy for the fia to have as a first corner
Before they added the infield section, I thought this track looked like a willy.
Could you try Croft, Should be quite fast also
I live 10 minutes away this would be quite handy
love the set up. I want to do something like this...dont know where to start lol
u could try the Australia GP at Bathurst to see how hard it would be
maybe next video could be about some potential Spanish tracks to replace Catalunya
Such a shame that the re-design added nothing to this circuit except make it a bit longer. In fact according to most people who drive it, they made it worse.
It would also have the same drainage problem as Silverstone as the meeting there last Sunday was called off mid-day after the track was under 3 feet of water
The final turn (Murrays) or Russell chicane (named after the famous Jim Russell racing school, another man worth knowing about) is widely regarded to be the most altered corner in the UK
Cadwell next please! 😁😁😁
Way too narrow
I used enjoy Mallory Park in a F1 car back in rf1.
I thought it was a little mickey mouse track until I raced there one evening without any practice. It's bigger than i expexted and fairly technical.
If your doing what if tracks can you do Assen ( old layout ) and Bruno Pls both those would be great I think.
Here's one obscure track for you to try on F1 car: Poznan. That track is a joy to drive at, especially with high-downforce cars. It has somewhat the Silverstone feel IMO.
Man you need to do Castle Combe.........
I agree it would be good as F1, but in addition to Silverstone because that is one of the great tracks and F1 needs to keep great tracks like Silverstone and Spa, but if the UK could warrant a second GP or a venue for a European GP then this is it.
Yay its my local track
