Raise your hand if you've ever been tempted to throw everything in your house away the day you're having people over 🤪🙋♀ If you guys have any more tips for making hosting easier, share em here!
My hosting tip. For three course meals I tend to make soups for the first course (you can usually make this the day before or in the morning and heat it up just before ppl arrive and doesn’t need many eyes) for dessert I love things that you can make the day before like cheesecake (it needs to refrigerate for a day anyway). And casseroles dishes are also great. I find especially with a baby having all these things that aren’t super time sensitive and you can’t make beforehand is really helpful bc if baby ends up needing you before guests arrives it’s no biggy
I love your tip on thinking of the kids. We are new parents and a lot of our friends don’t consider our kids because they don’t have kids- it’s okay they don’t know but this definitely factors in our decision on attending events now. We have to consider our own baby and bedtimes and sometimes it’s not worth going. It’s frustrating because sometimes we do feel alone at times / that we’re missing out or even more frustrating when friends/family seem to be offended because we don’t go out like we used to… it’s like we have a baby to take care of. It’s not their responsibility to take care of our baby but a bit of consideration goes such a long way and it makes us feel so loved.
I’m curious what your housekeeping schedule is! We have similar notes/to do list tendencies so I bet that’s similar too!! Usually I do laundry and dishes everyday, along with a general pick up. And then every week we do things like dusting, bathrooms, etc. And every month I declutter!
Love these tips!! I have grown to love hosting since I stopped trying to do it like I thought I “should”. I really don’t love to cook or put that pressure on myself so potlucks, BBQs (my husband is the one who grills), or even just ordering in food are what make it enjoyable for me. Like you said, people are just happy to be invited over!
This came at the perfect time, planning to host for the first time ever this fall. I’m so excited but also overthinking everything 😂 thank you so much for the tips!
“If your house is really dusty for whatever reason” I feel so called out haha 😂😂 dusting is my least favourite chore. It gets done about a week after REALLY needing it 😅🤦🏻♀️
Beth, you’re presence is absolutely stunning and you videos bring so much peace into my home. May the Lord bless you and your family as you shine his light into the lives of people on social media 💕🫶🏽
