I absolutely love the perspective that God is the perfect homemaker. I need to go look through early Genesis and see all the ways he created our space to be so inviting and beautiful. Thank you for saying that!!!!
I watch this and I love it but am sooo jealous of your light. I used to have this light and the past 7-8 years have really squashed me. You are the exact kind of mom and woman I wish to be carrying the joy and love of the Holy Spirit. Please pray for me❤
My tip: incorporating art/creativity in some way into home decor. Ex: I made a wreath this Fall and painted something in our home as well ❤ kind of goes with your last tip
its honestly amazing how our Lord works,.....yesterday I was praying out to him to teach me more gratitude through my role as mother and wife....and I found this video!!!!! thanks is exactly how I want to see my life
I could go on and on about homemaking. I love it so much. But my recent favorite thing is fresh flowers! I buy one bouquet and divide it into several little vases. I put one in the wash room, one at the coffee bar, etc. Fresh flowers really add an element of serenity to a home.
Love all of these tips! Something that’s really huge for me in my household is making sure the downstairs powder room has everything someone would need to feel comfortable and fresh. I’m sure we can all share stories of times where we were in someone else’s bathroom, and they were out of toilet paper, or there wasn’t a room freshener, or no hand lotion, and we would have liked to have had these things. It can seem a bit silly thinking about all of these details, but I always make sure to have plenty of toilet paper, wet wipes, air fresheners, clean towels etc. so whether it’s my husband and I or someone else using the restroom, they can always leave feeling fresh and clean.
Thank you so much for these tips! I especially love the idea of playing music scores in the house. I just turned on The Princess Diaries score and the space feels so much more alive :)
My mom taught me none of this. She was a neglectful malignant narcissistic and a feminist to the extreme. I've had to learn how to do all of this in my adult life through RUclips and the ladies at my church. Thank you for making this video sister 🙏🏼
I have been a stay at home mom for 12 years, and I am feeling like a complete failure right now. It is really hard to keep things tidy and inviting while homeschooling 5 children. I love your words here, and I completely agree. (I'm just in a really tough spot right now.)
I'm so sorry you're feeling that way!! At the end of the day your kids won't remember how tidy your house was - they'll remember your presence in it and the way that you made them feel. Don't underestimate the long-term impact you're making in their lives right now! ❤ It's so important to have a long-term vision and to give yourself grace in the day-to-day... the house always gets messy again but the moments you spend investing in them each day have eternal impact.
While I love and agree with this video, I think it is also important to remember that life is very messy and there is a lot of grace to cover all of that. Our worth is not measured in the vibes our house gives off or how pretty and cozy things feel during that day, which I think people can often leave these types of videos feeling like, even though I know that is not what she's saying. All our children really need is the love and care of their mama and the truth of the Lord. Grace covers everything else. I'd say that pouring in the type of love and attention required to homeschool FIVE children is worth far FAR more than an empty kitchen sink or perfectly made beds.
I love this!! I resonate so much with how you run your household. I follow almost all of these practices, including the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack. ;) It is such a blessing to be a mama and making my home a safe space for my family has been such a joy! These are mostly all changes that came about after having children, but I love the transformation that it has created in our home.
I love these amazing homemaking tips Beth!! especially “waking the house up” - I find that I do that too! as a candlemaker, it made me so happy to hear you mention candles for ambiance and even the importance of burning nontoxic for the health of your family! I own a nontoxic candle business named Mind Aroma Co. if you are in the market for more clean-burning candles for your natural homemaking!
I used to lay my clothes and toiletries etc in the bathroom, creep out and wake up there. I'd often get a latte first and take it into the bathroom with me along with my phone and listen to a podcast. Sounds weird but the bathroom became my little sanctuary inc candles 🤣 adjust and overcome haha
I've been curious, do you happen to work from home while being a stay at home mom? I forget what your job setup right now is. As a mom that works from home as well as takes care of my kids I just wanna be realistic with my ability to be a homemaker.
I’m currently on a mat leave - I have a full time job as a marketing manager at a tech company. :) But right now I do work from home on my own business while at home with the kids!
I'm always looking for ways to level up in homemaking - would love to hear any other habits or practices you guys have in your own homes!! 🥰
I love this ❤
Me too!! I would enjoy a bible study video or live. She’s so great at speaking about the lord.

The guest room segment was so beautiful! Even if one doesn't have a spare room, it's about that mindset you put forward. Wow, so inspiring.
I love candles also!! I love seasonal scents! I’ve just found you and I love how realistic you are. ❤

Totally agree! Love the idea to use the same bouquet across the house - beautiful.
So glad I found your channel! I will be listening while unloading dishes. Sending love in Christ from a mom of 3 in Texas ❤
Never thought about taking the Genesis perspective on homemaking! Love it!
Love this!! Any chance you would want to do a video showing your meal planning process and meal ideas?? 😍
Oooh yes, would love to do this! Will add it to the list 😍

Would love it if you did a video on how you make space for rest as a homemaker and mama

You might try the score from Last of the Mohicans it is amazing! Also Brian Crain is a phenomenal l composer that we adore. He is a pianist.

Make more videos on home making !
Beautiful.
How do you wake yourself up with baby in the room? I’m struggling with waking myself up before baby and not waking them!

Can you please share what candles you use? Thanks so much, love your videos and perspectives ❤️
