My husband and I have been blessed with 32 years of marriage (so far). It was always our desire to have children, and then I would quit the workforce to be a full-time mom. God had different plans. No children. I still felt the need, and wanted to be a housewife - my husband did not agree. After 23 years of marriage, God finally changed his mind, and I retired, being a housewife for the last 9 years. Our marriage became stronger, our faith grew exponentially, and I have a more peaceful countenance. We BOTH benefitted from my leaving the workforce. I feel for any woman in the same boat I was. God's timing is perfect, even when we don't feel He's listening - He is. Keep praying for your husband, for your marriage, and most importantly, keep submitting to His will for your life.

I so appreciate the love, respect, and gratitude you show your husband. That is an attitude it took me YEARS to figure out. I wish I had had myself so together at your age, but I was too busy pursuing a career. I hope the ladies watching your channel do not make the same mistakes I did. You are truly a great example to our young women.

I had my own hairdressing business. I got married. I started getting the conviction to stay at home, my husband was happy for me to work. As soon as I fell pregnant the urge to close my business was so strong from the Lord, that not only did I close my business but my husband even told me I’m meant to be at home as a homemaker and not a career woman. Just by him saying that I knew it was from God as he would never say that!

My husband and I are 22. Only 2 years ago we were far from the Lord, living for ourselves in sin. My life was radically changed and I was saved last summer, after months of consistent prayer, my husband had a radical change as well and was saved.I had the strong conviction to get married, become a full time homemaker and mother. 3 months later we were married and the Lord blessed us with a baby the next month. I just had my son 5 weeks ago and I’ve been a full time homemaker since we got married. Trust in the Lord ladies, he can change any situation and any heart! I never thought so much could happen in just a year

I don't watch television at all anymore, I watch just enough news to stay in touch. As a Christian I do believe strongly in voting with the heart of the Lord as in our values. There is definitely a spiritual war going on.
I'm not sure at this point if there is a conservative or liberal . There is clarity in the Bible on what our choices should be.
    God Bless

Thank you for your video Kelli, last night i felt greatly troubled about world issues in particular whats going on in the UK at the moment where i live. I prayed to the Lord to bring to my attention his word and the opening scripture at the beginning of the preaching in my church this morning was 1 Chronicles 10-13 which talks about the Lords sovereigntyl, then i decided to watch your video because i love homemaking and aspire to slow living and again i think the Lord spoke to me through your content at the end of your video. So i just want to say thank you, i really needed to be reminded of guarding my mind to what im watching and reading. I love all your videos, you are such a Godly, inspiring and hardworking homemaker, you will make a wonderful Mother when the Lord one day blesses you with children, may the Lord bless you and your husband 🙏🥰

If any need convincing of prayer, i can testify it works. I started praying to be a homemaker around the age of 17, and sure enough met my now husband at 19. We have been together over a decade, and anything ive prayed for that is according to Gods word has been fulfilled. I have been steadfast and patient and it always comes to pass. ❤

    Hi Kelli,
I so appreciate the constant reminders to watch what I let into my mind. It is a battle. Thinking we are okay as long as something is labeled Christian is so not true. I am a very busy homemaker, and I don't hang out with women friends, so my connecting (although it is only virtual) is when I am busy cooking, cleaning, etc. It is so easy to put on a video that is "off" and does not edify. Thanks again for speaking the simple, clear truth of the word. Happy day friend!

    So good!
My husband has been telling me the same things about the crazy/mad media. I really felt like he didn't understand my need to know what's going on in the world. I felt a sense of insecurity having to rely upon him for any news that would/could be detrimental to my world. However, hearing you say these things from a women's perspective-esp.- a Christian woman-- has enlightened me more. I believe the Lord spoke through you so that i could finally "get it"... And solidify what my husband has already been telling me. Thank you so much! Appreciate your message🙏

I agree with you completely about rage content. I actually lean liberal (I’m also a full time homemaker who enjoys serving my husband and family 🙋🏼‍♀️), and I can’t watch much political stuff. It gets me so heated so quickly, and there’s so much out there that I swear just tries to divide us, because that’s how they get clicks and ad revenue. I also just no longer want to think about my fellow Americans in any sort of way that the media or politicians want us to think. It’s hard to seek out the positive viewpoints and the ways in which we are similar in the current political landscape, but I try, even if it’s just for my own internal peace 😊🙏🏻❤🇺🇸

Your videos always are a wonderful time for me to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea and a some peace and wisdom. What a wonderful blessing to be able to care for your home and husband and children once they arrive. My husband always said, "Everything just goes better when you are here." I think of that on the more challenging days. :) I recently saw a post of FB, of all things, that said, "And then she realized that she was replaceable in every area of her life except her home." What a beautiful thought; we ladies are the heart of the home. God bless you all.

At the beginning of the year, when I was looking through the previous year's diary I realised there were so many things I went to that I didn't enjoy. This year I've been protecting our happiness by being more selective in many ways, and it's made a huge difference. My sister always says, 'Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.' On a side note, I love watching your chickens and enjoyed reading Pride and Prejudice too. Mrs Bennet makes me laugh.

Claire, I hope you guys are doing well!! And I love that "just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should" amen! and I also love that you reflected on your previous year, I think that's something so special about journaling is the ability to look back and then make changes. That makes me want to look at my old journals. And your home is such a Pride and Prejudice/Jane Austin aesthetic!! I was thinking that when we were watching the movie, it reminded me of your videos of your home! So much beauty!

This is one of my favorite scriptures and has helped me so many times.
I have a genuine question. Kelli, did you find Jane Austen to be feminist? I have always shied away from her writings for my daughters and myself because of this.
I use to love Anne of Green Gables, actually, I still LOVE the character...but she is fiercely independent and her schooling path is definitely feminist bent.
    What are your thoughts?

Thank you for the advise on chaotic people and making a bookmark and taking it to the Lord when you read. That is a great idea for me. I have a couple of people that do that for me. They are family and I don't think that they mean to be the way they are, and I try to not let it bother me, but it still will from time to time. I think is the perfect idea to help bring a solution by taking it to the Lord. For some reason, I really had not thought to do so, I guess because it isn't terrible, but it is bothersome for me some of the things they will say. Have a blessed evening.

Hi Kelli! I love your videos :) Something I really admire about you is how you hold your worldview confidently while still remaining feminine. Would you ever consider making a video about how to take a stand, be firm in Christian beliefs, and answer pushback all while remaining feminine? I often fall into the temptation of contentiousness in this area and I’d love to hear what you think!!

    • @homewithkelli
      @homewithkelli  9 дней назад

Hi Grace!! I do feel this is an area I am still growing in, maybe talk about it more in a video. I do think making youtube vs one on one conversations are different. With youtube, I am sharing to hopefully encourage/give language to those with our values- not so much to contest with people. Although people will protest in the comments section and 99% of the time I won't respond to comments that are obviously contentious. (There are days when I'm feeling feisty and I do respond, and I usually end up regretting it because they aren't commenting to understand but to argue, so really there is no point in engaging.)
In real life, I also don't contend with people on these issues. If someone is asking in sincerity, I will share, but when it is obvious someone is pushing just to debate, I don't engage. I have learned this the hard way, because when I have taken the bait, it ends up being quarrelsome and I leave the conversation feeling very icky. One time I left the conversation thinking, "I was just contending with a contentious woman."

Reading is NEVER a waste of time. it gets you acquainted with silence & focus. Reading should make you think deeply about yourself, the world, & your place in the world. Even tho my home is SO busy with people coming & going, chores, animals & things that sometimes go out of whack there is purpose to ALL of it & in that is where 'peace' is found. I would challenge that is isn't so much a 'quiet' life, as a 'small' life. I have found in the past several years that if it isn't happening on my road I am very uninterested in it. My household is not quiet, by any means, with two exuberant teens, a big personalitied husband, animals of varying decibels, and neighbors/family coming & going all day long. But people still pick up on a sense of calm here. Because everything is working towards an aim and things are not being done willy nilly & my kids have good manners & self control.

To live “a life of peace”. I am found of you and your husband for having such a life of luxury.
The Jews in Germany and the Christians in Iraq also wanted a life of peace, that is until it was too late.
I read the Bible and choose to pick up the Sword with the Lord as my Shield. Never forget there are Christians who live outside your bubble, some of whom protect the very life that you have.
We sadly live in a world of “spiritual warfare” against the dark forces. Even sadder is the fact that it is the ignorance of Christians like you that got us into this mess in the first place and it won’t be you getting us out.
Build a better fence to protect your chickens; there are foxes out there.

Matt Walsh isn’t liberal. He’s actually very conservative and has intelligent conversations showing the idiocracy of the far left.

He also condemns raw milk and is very pro-establishment in some areas………they all sound good on the outside but if you look a bit deeper they unfortunately are just puppets too

I don’t think she was saying he’s liberal. She said he’s debating a liberal. He’s very conservative overall. Her point was sometimes conservatives debating liberals can be just as exhausting.
