Berners are the breed with rocks for brains, but always happy little rocks listening to elevator music. I have a Bernedoodle he has some smart rocks from the poodle, but rocks and elevator music nonetheless. ❤

They definitely can be I have to say out of all the dogs I've ever owned this breed is the most emotional that I've ever had. You have to be careful about raising your voice with this breed they carry hurt feelings easily. They let you know if disappointed in you. Totally recommend this breed.
Similiar dog breeds like the Apenzel Mountain Dog too. Apenzel are just like a smaller version of the Bernese
I got BMD and thy can be sad.
My bernhard ( 4.5yr old ) is sad when he cant go in water or long walk or we go home and he wil trow him self on ground like big toddler haha.
Honestly mine was sad a few weeks ago because someone threw rat poison into our garden and you could just tell that he was sad and in pain

Bernese Mountain Dogs may not look too bright to you, but they are incredibly intelligent. One of the few breeds I have seen evaluate a situation, formulate a plan, and execute that plan.
Adorable? Yes! Sweet and loving? You bet!
But stupid? Absolutely not!
Bernese mountain dogs have by far the best colour scheme out of all breeds, they look so majestic.

@@bigfootape bloodhounds aren't "majestic" per se, but I learned i definitely favor red over the black and tan variety thanks to a random red bloodhound that showed up at our house one day years ago we named Nora. To me the red was stunning and that's when I knew a good red/ish dog was a particular "weakness" of mine. I favor the red huskys more too because the black and white are an extremely common variety and I've met both in person. I've also been extremely fortunate to meet a black German sheperd - a variety I recently learned was quite rare among gsds, whom I thought was a gorgeous dog. There's a "panda" variety that I swooned over because it was basically a tri-color gsd i never knew existed. A good tri-colored is also a weakness because we had beagles growing up, so I guess I'll always have a soft spot for tri-colored doggos.

I used to "nanny" a Bernese, her name was Josie. She would stand between your legs then sit and put her head up on your tummy for pets. She was a gentle giant and I don't think I ever heard her bark. I love this breed soooo much because of my time with sweetie Josie. ❤️

While I can't confirm with Leo here. I can confirm that Berners do in fact give the best cuddles. My middle school language arts teacher had one. Biggest lovebug I ever met.

I have a Berner. His name is Loki. He's my sweetest most precious-est bumbling boy with a big heart. This is something I think all Berners share. They have sweet smiles and so much great big lovies to give. A lot of people think these dogs are dumb but they're very smart. The only thing is they're very stubborn and will plant their feet and refuse to do it if they don't want to. That's where I think a lot of the "berners are kind of dumb" comments come from. Also... their big dopey smiles don't help BUT I love them for it.
My Bernese, Ivy, was my heart dog and lived to 13!! Best dogs ever.
Wow! That’s pretty old for a Berner! It’s sad that they tend to have such short lifespans. I’ve heard the European ones tend to be a lot healthier though.

My mom's cat do need a grooming, but traveling to Canada would probably be terrifying for them. (And the potential for an airline to lose them is also something I'm paranoid about)

My cat after a long car ride there may make Goku look cooperative. She has a troubled history at vets already.
My dog is shy and would not enjoy it. I see no good reason to put her through the stress.
unless you have a huge cat they're generally small enough that you can put them under the seat as your carry on.
I love this channel for many reasons, but I think the best thing is how I communicate with my groomer. Her commentary gives such honest insight into their side of things and what I can do better at home! 😁💜🐾

oh gosh mine went in for her first appointment last week. she was a terror about the one thing I needed done: nail clips. I think she was really excited about the car ride, confused about the groomer, and then excited about the mile walk home.
My berner acts like the water is going to turn him into dust 😂 he be gets professional grooming twice a year and we just brush him at home a lot.
Just came back, after a tiring day at work and his face made me smile.. what a sweetheart ❤️❤️

I remember seeing one as I was out for a run and I swear I never seen a dog so big. I also seen another one at my mom’s condo and the dog was just as friendly. Never seen a 130 pound dog up close lol

Gorgeous! I had a St. Bernard/ Australian Shepard mix. He was so smart and loving. His name was Hudson (from the cartoon 'Gargoyles'). Thank God he was healthy. He lived to be 12 and weighed 125 lbs when he passed. Miss him bunches!! 💚🐾

One of my sister's dogs has cancer that effects his back legs most days. It is a painful to watch him try to scratch himself. His coat has become greasy from rolling in the hard all the time, but he is very proud and will not even let anyone help into the car or onto the couch.
