I can't remember the number of times I replayed the game (and just parts of it) to get all the possible differences in dialogue. I pulled the convos from the conversation file ingame and had a trix to map out what sequence of events will trigger them. I think my first playthrough clocked out at 50+ hours alone. Such a great game

The question is as a mech, how can agent Navarre know her kill phrase without unintentionally destroying herself. Unless the phrase has to be processed through her ears to work. Maybe I'm overthinking it...
If the killphrase worked just by thought the mechs wouldn't be allowed to know it, so you're probably right. But even if processing the words through acoustic nerves is required, the mech should be free of any suicidal tendencies for obvious reasons. Well, not Anna but maybe Gunter...

Explosives were built into the person during surgery just in case their new mech abilities became too much to bare in case there was a betrayal coming.

The graphics okay...it gives wonderful memories from the early 2000's...millennials "echo boomers" would never know how 1st Gen created the way of today's gaming industry and great to have games...
Compare to Deus ex 2 where the focus became fancy lighting and physics at the expense of thoughtful storylines, heavy conversations, and meaningful themes. This was the end of the golden age, the gilded capstone. JC WILL RISE AGAIN!

It's been many years and I don't really remember. If I had to guess, I'd say there was SweetFX in there, maybe Kentie's renderer (early version). The HDTP version I was using was the first that came out, which only had Gunter's model and some objects.

The game actually fits perfectly for 640x480. It wasn't really ever designed well for higher screen resolutions.

D3D10/11 renderers uses bloom and HDR. There's also ENB and ReShade.
