I would love a Godzilla focused sequel as a Godzilla fan but I understand why they focused on Kong more since he has more emotion and good interactions with humans
Yeah thayd true. Kong is a much more relatable titan given the fact that he is an ape and that he gives of human emotions...which, btw, the emotions kong gives during this movie, are really, really well done. Even sukos emotions and expressions are really well put together too. But yes, having another movie in the monstervers this time focusing on Godzilla is probably the right way to go.
That and if Toho ever pulled royalties from legendary, they just shift focus to specifically centering around Kong.

Just watched Godzilla x Kong and it is now my new favorite Monsterverse film. But I also wanted to see that serious tone back again and also those scary moments like in Kong: Skull Island

If they do introduce a Godzilla solo movie, they should probably show more of Godzilla’s past. Not just his battles with other kaiju, but also his interactions with humanity and what drives the Big G to protect the world.

Seeing Godzilla as a franchise and the Monsterverse doing great makes me feel happy.
We need to have a solo godzilla movie, with a classic villain, or a godzilal centered movie with kong cameos at times. Like gxk but flipped. Or maybe someone like biollante or soace godzilla comes and godzilla ends up fighting in the hollow earth. Kong hears the ruckus and investigates and finds godzilla and decides to help.
Imagine if they did a Biollante film and made it character focused.

Anguirus is godzillas OG buddy, but a significant amount of groundwork has been laid for mothra in gxk and kotm. so I think having a movie about godzillas actual friendships and not his rivalry like with kong would be a good movie.
A common enemy that godzilla, mothra and anguirus could have, or fuck it just make a movie about godzilla and only 1 other monster.
The problem with having a godzilla vs 1 monster movie, is that the other monster has to be believably as strong as, or stronger than ghidorah. So basically all godzilla has left for believable challenging villains is destroyah and space godzilla.....and maybe biollante but that's a stretch. There's no other monster in godzillas villain catalog that scales as high as ghidorah, space godzilla and destroyah.
So going forward, it really has to be 1 of these kinds of movies: godzilla vs 1 super strong monster, godzilla teams up with another kaiju to fight a villain, or godzilla fights multiple monsters at once.
They obviously can't do destroyah or space godzilla yet. I think the franchise is going to be appropriately paced with ghidorah as the big bad of the beginning, space godzilla of the middle, and destroyah at the end of the franchise.
They can fill in with mecha godzilla just fine here and there. Mk1 was a failed project because of lack of control, but toho made multiple mecha G movies themselves so I think the monsterverse can do it too.
This time make it a piloted mech, and don't make the fight so 1 sided, make godzilla win on his own, but make it so that humanity is now clearly posing a threat to kaiju with their own inventions and creations.
That's something we haven't seen in the monsterverse yet. The humans vs kaiju angle. Godzilla has been getting progressively less friendly to humans with each movie. He just gives less and less of a shit about us, which he should.
Some more grounded human perspective witnessing the chaos of godzillas existence and presence in the human world is needed in the monsterverse movies. He really is a walking apocalypse and that perspective of him was only shown at the very beginning of kotm when he's stomping through the city.
I feel like the next movie will introduce the son of Godzilla, probably Junior, and this is because Adam was asked this question in an interview and in a way makes, sense, with how GxK in his words “Treated Kong in the movie, I think the next movie will be the Godzilla version of what we did in the movie, pushing deeper into his story”. This will not only delve deeper into his character, but also explore new avenues of not only being the King of the Monsters, but to also being a seragate father to Junior, like how Heisei Godzilla did in MechaGodzilla II, SpaceGodzilla and in Destoroyah.
I'm thinking the same thing. It will likely lead into a Son of Godzilla film after Adam has finished his trilogy. Maybe they could even do a spinoff film where Suko and Jr have their own adventure while their fathers are off protecting the world from some threat. Gabera could be the villain.

Godzilla finds an egg in Axis Mundi that has a baby Godzilla, however the difference between this and Ming finding Suko is that Kong wanted to create a bond with his kind for Godzilla, he doesn’t want this responsibility at all, but if he lets other titans kill and eat the baby Gojira they could have it that like it will make them powerful enough to challenge him, and he can’t kill it cause it would be wrong or if he absorbed it unique radiation, it would make him crazy (like how it did to space Godzilla in the past, which would be explained in that movie) so Godzilla begrudgingly takes responsibility for it, and slowly over the course of the movie, forms a strong bond with it, think Joel and Ellie from Last of us, or Mando and the Grogu from the Mandalorian

I'm here for a Godzilla focused movie. And if the rumors are true about Space Godzilla he's the best director for it. That Sci-fi, fantastical direction. He's great at. However if Destroyah eventually comes I would rather have a more horror atmospheric vibe with another director
Space Godzilla seems the most likely choice for the next film if they are going to make it more Godzilla focused. Destroyah should be saved as the big bad for the final film.

Destroyah is the Thanos of the monsterverse but there is a lot that needs to be covered before he makes his appearance, Space Godzilla, Biolante, Gigan, Mecha Ghidorah, and maybe another original villain.

I wouldn’t mind a movie 35 million years in the past where Godzilla meets mothra to battle a threat thus starting their million year symbiotic relationship into what we know of them today
Mothra is intriguing. What does she want? What is her agenda? She will attract worshipers, but will she communicate with them? How intelligent is she? I do like to see her fight, but I want to see cunning psychological manipulation, or even just see how the eyespots work on kaiju of lesser intellect.
I jumped up out my chair when Godzilla and Kong were duking it out again...then proceeded to laugh my ass off when Kong was running to the Pyramid cause he knew what that atomic breath doooo...lol
Yeah I had a blast with the Egypt fight too. Mainly because it was a bit more fair this time and each got excellent hits at the other. But then of course the final fight arrived and was an entire roller coaster for itself😂
I so want GXK to succeed at the box office for this to be a reality!
Here's an idea to Adam Wingard: Just make BOTH *Godzilla* and *Kong* center to the story. You've already built up *Kong* as a great character over 2 movies. *Godzilla* has already been shown to be a ruthless force to be reckoned with. Now is *Godzilla's* time to shine AS A CHARACTER. Bring in some sympathy points for the Big-G by giving him a nice story viewers can sympathize and empathize with (maybe bring in Junior or something).

We do need a Godzilla focused sequel in this trilogy , it would be awesome for the Godzilla fans and Kong fans a like. GvK and GxK were Kong focused so a third movie should definitely introduce a history of Godzilla and his greatest battles and lead up to an all out war with Destroyah and other monsters trying to end Godzilla's reign as the King of Monsters.
And hopefully this movie will be more than 1 hour and 50 something minutes😭
I would LOVE a more Godzilla-centric sequel, no doubts or hesitation here! I mean, personally I could watch another 10 or so of these wild Showa-style Monsterverse films and still want more XD
Realistically, I really want to see more of Mothra in future movies, along with Shimo now that she’s been introduced (even if the latter is just a small cameo a la GxK’s Doug lol)… Godzilla will always be the one true Kaiju King to me, but those ladies hold a special place in my heart now, too!!
As a hardcore Godzilla fan this seems amazing! I saw some of my other fellow Godzilla fans wanting a Godzilla solo movie but I think Kong being there would make it even better than a solo Godzilla movie.

A Godzilla focused finale to Adam Wingard’s trilogy of GxK could go a few ways
- Godzilla’s relationship with Mothra now that she’s back and how that might go, with Godzilla becoming less hostile and figuring out what to do now that earth is at peace
- Son of Godzilla route since Godzilla, like Kong before, is the last of his kind so maybe they could do something with an infant Gojira that Godzilla finds and learns to take care of and protect (though might be tiring to see yet another story like this after we already got Suko)
- Godzilla vs Humanity. The world governments seem to be getting really sick of Godzilla just doing whatever he wants. Especially with Rio getting basically flattened off the map, we could see Humanity try to fight Godzilla and then there’s turmoil with that (Terror of Mechagodzilla or Destroyah perhaps?)
- The novel talks about a Gojira who “ate a star and turned wicked”, so we could see a Space Godzilla route or some kind of mutated Godzilla that is dormant in the hollow earth or comes from space to challenge Godzilla’s rule.
Those are some ideas I personally think they could go and also probably combine! The status quo of the Monsterverse has changed with now Kong, Shimo, Mothra and Godzilla all allies together, they probably can take on any threat so if there is something that threatens them it’s gotta be big and powerful. Or they go the opposite with a more introspective Godzilla film. Who knows, but a Godzilla focused movie sounds very fun!
I also would love to see Kong, Shimo and Suko interact more, with Kong and Shimo having a “Fang and Spear” dynamic perhaps!

I hope the sequel explores more mythological aspect of Godzilla and its relationship with Mothra with full details. Also, I want it to explore Godzilla's loneliness and his psychology of being the only last of his kind through his POV entirely. I hope they explore the aspects of MonsterVerse Godzilla which are never done before done. Moreover, demand to change music composer and specifically CGI models in which we can see the weight and scaling of these Titans with lot more detailing so that we can see battle damage on Titans.
I don't think Godzilla really cares about the rest of his kind honestly. Besides that's already something we got with Kong, the last thing we need is for Godzilla to repeat someone else's character arc

What was the giant Skelton pf a reptile hanging as a bridge when Kong walked on it going to Skar king's mine.
Details are a good idea, however battle damage on Godzilla is not going to happen..why? Because, Godzilla has regeneration and a healing factor that literally prevents wounds and even hits that manage to penetrate his ultra hardened skin, from having scars and that battle damage. Kong has scars from battle damage. Look at his chest, those claw marks from godzilla are noticeable. Godzilla simply heals very well. REGENERATION. Thats part of why he is so awesome, as in the KING of the Titans.
Personally, I'd much rather the monsterverse godzilla have a series about him after the events of "godzilla king of the monsters" were he's putting all the other titans back in their place! And it would be an awesome way of showing the other, i think? 13 Titans? That was shown on the TV screen in "godzilla king of the monsters"
It is the best idea to have a Godzilla-centric movie next from Wingard. More indepth story telling on his origin, history, more details, and having the most dangerous opponent yet, similar yet worse than Ghidora. And when he defeats the new threat, Godzilla does this alone. As in, making it a point that he can smash and take down his worse threat yet. A bit of help will be ok, but nothing to much as to make the monsterverse fans think Godzilla needs help to overcome his enemies. Godzilla should straight up own the next villian Titan. Who that will be can be figured out. They do not need to rush this. It will develop well over time and patience. Destroyah or space godzilla are popular, but expesive to purchase from toho. A new legendary homegrown Main Titan enemy can happen as well. Godzilla needs to stomp it down next :D

If the next monsterverse movie focuses on Godzilla more, it should be similar to the heisei area, have a mire serious tone to it. GvK and GxK are kiiiind of like the showa era. I don't know what the story could be or what Godzilla would fight, but I just hope that it will be just as awesome as these last movies.
I think the sequel should have a villain that caused a huge tragedy in Godzilla’s life, something that happened way before Godzilla’s war with Ghidorah or Skar King, a opponent that will not only challenge the King of the Monsters strength, but also his mind and soul.

I don't think Gigan would be Adam Wingard's first choice for a new villain, but he's my favorite kaiju and I would love to see a monster verse adaptation of him.
( Or really any underused kaiju, Megalon, Titanosaurs, Battra, etc. )

Adam also said in an Interview that his Third Monsterverse Film would come back to the G14 style, a more Grounding film, Darker and with an Sense of Scale!

If they really make the next movie more centered around Godzilla I'd like them to make it basically the reverse version of GxK where we are mainly on Godzilla but we also get to see whatever Kong is up to every now and then, I think that's pretty fair. Because I want them to focus more on Godzilla as a character like they did with Kong while also continuing Kong's story.

I have a feeling that we might be seeing Minilla/Goji Jr in the future, like maybe Godzilla decides to take him in cuz 1) at least he's not the last of his kind and 2) he needs someone to take up the mantle in case he dies.
Honestly, the KOTM film set the stage for his ultimate battle against Destroyah. That would show the world that Godzilla is needed for the much bigger threats
If Godzilla does get his own solo film they should start it with introducing Godzilla and what he does same as what did with Godzilla X Kong . They introduced Kong getting chased by a pack of hybrid wolves.
Godzilla is the reason most of us are going to see these movies, and the past 2 movies have been Kong focused, so it's definitely Godzilla's turn for a movie focused on him. But I also don't want Destroyah yet, as there is still plenty of Alien related stories to incorporate. If you think Monsterverse is fun now, just wait until the Planet X/Xilians/Black Hole aliens show up.

As much as I want another Godzilla focused movie, I fully get why Kong has been the focus the past two movies. Kong is favored by the general audiences and the general audiences generate the most revenue.

This channel sprung up at the right time and kaijus are here to stay thank goodness! Proud of Dangerville of getting that quick press access to Wingard. Im not overly impressed with wingard and im upset with the leap in tech and believability about the monsters. But i guess you have to expand on tech to allow all of the human abilities to make ships, bots, enclosures that look like earth etc.
I don't think Godzilla should go the Kong route with finding another member of his species. Instead, I'd like to see how he developed his relationship with Mothra. I feel like that would be a good direction to take the film in.
Don't need another crossover movie. Just a godzilla movie dealing whit the rest of the monsters in the monsterverse.

I understand why they decided to focus on Kong. They wanted to have a kaiju that the audience could relate to so Kong was that one. But I hope for a Godzilla focused movie that they try to humanize Godzilla like the same way they did with Kong.

Yea had they not used MechaGodzilla as the bad guy in the first GvK I’d say Space Godzilla would be fine but since they went the way they did, I’d rather they use Destoroyah.
Have it set early in the movie where centuries ago they fought and Destoroyah nearly kills Godzilla. Godzilla clearly losing the fight. When he comes back in present day you have Godzilla asking Kong for his help to beat Destoroyah.

Especially since Doug got a clean in-canon "win" against King Kong. That was one of the most memorable bits of the film - and Kong had this long-suffering look on his face afterwards - like "What else can go wrong today?" Awesome that Adam included that in this altogether terrific fun movie!

There’s been a lot of theories roaming, but most of them are concluding that Space Godzilla will be the next villain because in the movie *SPOILER* they did mention something about a “Gojira who ate a Star” which is a reference to Space Godzilla and you can see in the paintings that Godzilla will fight Space Godzilla
a Godzilla centered movie would be so cool and especially with his new evolved form, also I love your guys new intro music! I need the whole thing so I can listen to it and do homework!
Even if they do a Godzilla focused one, Kong still needs to appear as an ally to him. I’d like to focus on their relationship and growing symbioticness of how they both protect order and the planet. Where even when they spot each other, they aren’t really fazed anymore. Like a Superman and Batman team up.

Yeah I do hope the focus ends up being on Godzilla this time. Now that with Mothra back, we can maybe see more of their relationship and how they work together. Id really like to see them fight something just the two of them agaisnt one monster.

Personally, i don't want Adam Wingard as director of the next movie. Don't get me wrong, i had fun with GxK, but i still prefer the style of kong skull Island and Godzilla king of the monsters ( a little more serious ). A villain that Wingard could handle, for me, Is space Godzilla, because is crazy enough for his style. But for a villain like Biollante for example,(i hope for it) we need a more serious tone.
And i want blue Godzilla back...thank you.
Sounds like you prefer a more dramatic sci-fi grounded tone, like in the 0riginal vs MechaG, or of either the 1985 or vs Destroyah movies. There was plenty of serious sci-fi elements and also great OSDT Music as well to emphasize the movie’s overall tone and climax.

Been following you guys since the start. Always love your videos and also got me to watch a lot of Gojicenter! lol but I watched an interview where someone asked if we would ever see a baby Godzilla. And honestly, I’m all for that and the intro of Destroyah. I finally just wanna see what he’d look like in the Monsterverse. It would be super cool looking I bet!
I want to see more of a Horror/scary side of Goji. Legendary hasn't touched that yet, but I do love The Legendary version of him.

A Godzilla focused equivalent sounds like the best film I could imagine Legendary making because I absolutely love his personality in these films and desperately want to see more of him like this
I can see Godzilla fight some kaiju from space. Like in GXK we heard of a titan that ate the star, maybe it wasn't meant for Godzilla instead some outer space creature that threatens earth every 1000 years or something.
The sequel should just be Godzilla 3 honestly. I also hope they don't throw in Kong just for merchandise like they did with Godzilla in GXK

I think we need some type of biollante threat. Now that humans have quite a bit of titan and hollow earth DNA
I could see a story where humans are trying to do something good like use godzilla DNA to cure cancer but it mutats.
Considering that Kong’s species is referred to as “The Great Apes” in the MonsterVerse, if Legendary EVER makes another solo Kong movie again, “Kong and the Great Apes” would be a great title for that movie! :)

It'd be fun to see Godzilla and mothra fighting some kaiju, as I don't see Godzilla going to kong for help, there would have to be a threat from the surface going towards hollow earth like megalon or something.
Good to know it's doing great at the box office, my theater opening night had 20 people max, I saw way more people when I saw -1 a month after release.
I have been asking for this since gvk so I am happy Godzilla is getting the spotlight back
i want a kotm cinematic style but with more monster action like gvk&gxk for a godzilla-centric movie.
imagine they could also put a sympathetic backstory for godzilla on why he is a lone king, with space godzilla as his enemy. or what if make space godzilla have one offspring so that goji can adopt it once space goji dies
Though probably costly, we need more classic Toho monsters in the MV. Personally hoping for Gigan, Gorosaurus, Biollante, Destoroyah and perhaps even Bagan.
I think that having Godzilla get a power reset could be interesting. Either it being himself shedding all of his strength or by a villian's ability, and fighting a formidable foe that really gets under Godzillas skin somehow.
There should be another movie with Godzilla, Gamera, Zilla Jr and Kong The chameleon and Space Godzilla.

@@atomcore.official Godzilla is actually the big focus. His name comes before Kong, he won in the crossover, the MonsterVerse started with him, he has 1 more solo movie than Kong does, and Monarch is basically a Godzilla show.
AWESOME!!! It might be cool to see the Kings come up to the surface to assist Godzilla. Maybe Destroya or Space Godzilla kind of thing. They did use the Oxygen Destroyer in King of the Monsters which would lead to Destroya.
Definitely need a Godzilla focused movie. I feel like giving him a personality and backstory would be more huminizing for Godzilla, but giving him a villain would probably be a challenge. Obviously they can just pull a old monster from the franchise, but i still feel that it would be a challenge even if they did, I can't even guess who they would bring back.
