Has happened to me with ultraviolet - kind of a digital backup service, that shut down and all my copies there were lost. But I still got all these movies in physical form, so not that bad.
Thing is,yes it may be more convenient for everything to be digital,but unlike physical objects,nothing digital is forever and once it all goes away,so does all the content that it stored. So physical is the best way to preserve

The Wart Dogs kinda reminds me of 2018 Rampage Ralph, the giant gliding mutated wolf. The death scene by Lizzie, the ginormous alligator, was absolutely brutal.
for me one of the reasons i switched mostly to digital is because I'm just running out of space i know that problem doesn't effect most people but i was a big movie collector for many years and I'm just kinda running out of places to put them

While watching GXK my explosive diarrhea started acting up 😭 I was super scared but I held it in until Godzilla evolved and broke out of the ice and when he roared I just let it all out. I honestly think the other guys in the theatre enjoyed it cuz I added some 4D experience to the scene, extra sound effects and all. Smelled like death, tho 😂
Just a shame Adam Wingard’s off the franchise now, even with this massive success. I just hope they can find someone with a *_BIG_* passion for Godzilla to do the next one, just like the directors we’ve already had.

You can't beat physical! I have already preordered the film on 4K and haven't seen the movie since back in the beginning April. I'm stoked about adding GXK to my collection and am looking forward most of all to seeing it again in the comfort of my own home.

Interesting that Jacob mentioned inflation. I know that Legendary wants to make as much money as possible, but with things costing more every couple months, having a staggered home release isn't looking good in the future. Even the die hards won't support that anymore, at least not as a majority.

With everything going digital nowadays, it’s too convenient, and what happens when the internet goes down? Bam, you can’t access your content. But you at least have something with physical, and you don’t need to be connected to watch it. I prefer my console games physical, too, unless it’s download only.

I personally like the idea because with IP and copyright rules especially with Toho’s other monsters is a headache for the studios to approve and acquire. Since Pacific rim is already owned by Legendary and Warner bros. They can potentially pull it off, not necessarily bringing the pacific rim universe into the monsterverse but more like monarch building the yeagers and having them be a part of the monsterverse. Since many Easter eggs were planted in GxK and them showing (literally) Gipsy Dangers arm blue prints as a stand in for Kong’s gauntlet. In addition the tech used by Ren Serizawa to pilot Mecha Godzilla by neural link connection is the same sort of tech used by Yeager pilots.
Lore wise I didn't think there could be a crossover, the universes are just too incompatible. But I think they could have anteverse kaiju in the MV and giant mechs also called Jaegers. Maybe jet jaguar could be one of the Jaegers! Plus the breach could play havoc with the hollow earth portal system and having a Godzilla POV scene in the ocean where he sees a pac rim kaiju emerge from the breach would be so cool.

GxK budget was also less than Skull island. It didn't have any A list actors to pay inflated costs....which helped quite a bit.
