The best Audi S3 review I’ve seen & ive probably watched them all, no gimmickry funny faces or Tom foolery to be had - sorry Matt. This guy is a worthwhile plethora of information regarding the S3, yes a brilliant review or more the lowdown on reality. I’ll check out Fontains as they come across as the real deal.
Mega video! Really helpful information. I’m in the market for the s3, and seen a lot of videos. Not one is this realistic and feels like talking to a person. Great work thanks for the information:)
Bought an 2017 Audi S3 from a Audi dealer, in the first 6months both the Haldex pump and the thermostat housing have needed replacing, luckily all done under warranty. Your common faults have been bang on 😂. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong
Beyond those they're fairly well behaved for the most part. I'd treat it as a bonus that both of those weaknesses have already been addressed with your car. I'd suggest that ongoing you remove the haldex pump at each oil change to clean it (rather than just changing the oil). Should guarantee future reliability.
I own a 2017 hatchback. This video should be watched by anyone considering this car it was bang on. A mention of the standard and optional safety features would be the icing on the cake.
Hi Philip - thanks for your comments. There probably are a few more areas you could go into really granular detail with but we try to strike a balance between detail and accessibility. It's certainly a subject we'll hold in mind for future guides.
This is a ridiculously good review 👏 very thorough, first time using these guys for mechanical repairs in the next couple of day, recommended by a friend who has an audi s6 and says they are amazing.
What a tremendously informative video. I have a pre-facelift model and am thinking about updating to a facelift model and this video has given me loads of info on what to look out for. Thanks so much!
Just want to say thank you so much for the effort & time that went into creating this video! Looking at purchasing a FL 8V S3 later this year and this is by far the most informative & useful video out there 👏🏼
Underrated channel. Comphrensive and detailed yet easy to follow Alex. The only constructive criticism I have is that it will be useful to know what the common problems are. Keep up the good content, you're bound to blow up.
Having mine delivered on Tuesday from Audi Swansea , 2018 navarra blue, pan roof, sound pack, parking plus, tech pack, privacy glass, 2 Yr warranty and breakdown. Happy days ,
Awesome video. After watching this video, I have confidence in buying an Audi S3 or any other powerful German whip{car}. I respect the honesty, elucidation and presentation of this Audi A3 S3 video. Respect to you Alex from Fontain Motor LTD. Peace.
Thank you guys i always wanted a S3 been put off by many as i was with mt 08 tfsi2.0 quattro a3 which ha sbeen a dream car, this video is a very informative and helpful video thank you now i will be searching for my S3
Nice video. Simple yet informative and straightforward. Just a comment on the water pump or thermostat housing, the housing itself leaking is in fact a common enough issue with this 2.0 TSI. But you're right in terms of the pump or thermostat itself being reliable. Just wanted to share this. I have an S3 (8V) from 2020 and really enjoying it.
Great video, I recently bought one from a main dealer 64 plate low mileage under 50k after 2 weeks of ownership noticed the coolant was dropping took the car in to Audi and unfortunately had both of the faults described I had these replaced by Audi I was pleased I bought from a main dealer and had a warranty the repair bill without warranty was over £3k as a owner now approaching 6 months would agree totally with this video.
Very comprehensive info. Good job! Just got myself a 2015 S3 Saloon recently and noticed the DRL's on the headlights are turning yellowish. Should I replace the headlights?
Don’t know if you replaced them yet, but it’s a sign that they are starting to wear. I just had my right front LED strip fail on me two months ago (bottom strip went out completely). Start saving up for the job because it’s very expensive to replace (don’t know the pounds to dollar conversion, but mine was quoted at $2400 - luckily I still had warranty 😅)
Brilliant bit of content I was wondering why my car was making a thud sound when going over bumps I have the facelift saloon 19 inch wheels and mag ride so that answers that!
Great information, thanks for putting this together. At 13:48, you state manual gearboxes don't require oil changes. Can you please explain this further and if this applies to these cars as they become older and higher mileage
Certainly; there's no factory scheduled oil change for the manual gearbox, in that Audi consider that oil "for life". Nobody will tell you that changing it as a preventative measure is a bad idea, however. Particularly so if the car's done more miles or you're planning long term ownership.
Mine is going strong on 100K miles so far. One thing to note, if you spring for magride and 19s you'll want to upgrade the stock 235/35 tires to something with more sidewall or go down to 18s as the stock magride is a bit of a rough ride.
Good video had mines nearly a year black edition love it, glad I got the later model due to the fact there was lack of standard options on the earlier ones.
I had an S3 8v and didn’t think much of it tbf. They’re “east fast” which is great if you want that but an M140i is definitely the car for the more spirited driver
How does this only have 500 views? Deserves way more!
The buying guide videos are promoted a lot more on Facebook where they're hosted separately.
Your wish has been granted son. Now it’s on 21k views 🤣

Well done 👏

Fantastic work my friend as a 2023 s3 owner the car is amazing but has some flaws I appreciate the very realistic description
Best video iv seen definitely knows his stuff unlike so many other idiots who bought a s3 on youtube.

A very good talk through of the S3 well done.
Got a stage 1 remaped GTD right now, an S3 Saloon is the cards next 🔥
Excellent buyers guide, thanks a lot.
Brilliant Video. I’ve found this very informative. I am now looking to buy and getting ideas of pricing and service costs are handy 😃😃😃😃
Cracking, well-informed video. Picking mine up in a few days :)

I’m debating a s3 or m240i anyone owned both or any of them and know which one is better
Thank you! :)
Hello is the magnetic ride available on 18-inch wheels ?
Yup. You could have ordered Magnetic ride control as a solo option.
@ thanks !
Brilliant
Have you got any vids on an a7?
No, unfortunately not. I only buy/sell a very small number of them so would be difficult to justify.
Can you still have 19” wheels on the S3 without magnetic ride?
Not from the factory; you could order magnetic ride alone but 19s came with it.
Ara blue 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's a proper colour :)

so nothing about oil burn?
Nope, not generally an issue. Having a problem with yours?
@@FontainMotorsLtd I had an older seat leon cupra R (the 1p from 2011) which had severe oil burn issues. Apparently they fixed it on this version
@@comedyman112 Aaaaah yes, the engine range known as EA888 Gen 1 had quality/design issues with their piston rings.
Is This A 2018 Or 2019 Model?
Hi Zamani, this video relates to all of the '8V' Audi S3s, 2013-2019 inclusive.
10:10-10:20 lol i never laughed so hard
My 2020 8V S3 has alcantara/half leather….i must be special 😃 much nicer and grippier than that smooth shiny S3 leather.
Man, why couldn't us Americans get the hatchback?! Grrrrr!!!
too small
Looks like a overpriced seat 😂😂🤣🤣
