- The short version is that the Clickit harness works well in the car, but did not work at all as a walking harness. I loved the sturdy construction of all three pieces, and as you can see in this photo, Chloe was unfazed by their weight and by how thoroughly they attached her to the car.

Can the dog lie down or must it remain in a sitting position for the entire car trip?
I just came here cause this is my dog breed
On a trip longer than a half hour or even 20 minutes my dogs enjoy laying down. It would be nice if they could lie down, and on a much longer road trip they would most certainly want to lay down, then what?
awww
That doesn't look comfortable..a larger dog can't sit or lay down . Seems putting dog in crate and strapping that down would be more comfortable and safe.
this failed the dog safety test get a better harness like spend the money people if it looks like it can rip don't use it.
Lokirain29 # it was a actually the only one to pass the test genius
LostInABook nope it killed a friend of mines dog it was not safe at all broke the dogs back the harness not so good. My friends dog was her baby she is working on a design for carseats for dogs in hopes to make it safer for other animals to travel safely
Lokirain29 # Hmm... I totally believe you but like when did it happen? I might reconsider buying one of these harnesses if its recent.
Lokirain29 # also I'd like to ask what size of dog it was.
LostInABook is correct--Sleepypod was the best-performing harness in the only study (thus far) on dog car harnesses. While I don't doubt your story, are you sure Sleepypod was the brand? And depending on the severity / circumstances of the accident, it's possible that that not even a Kevlar-insulated vest with a force field would have saved the dog. Regardless, I'm sorry your friend lost her dog.
