India really needs to focus on engines of all types. We're far far lagging behind in various types (jets, turbofans, missiles, ship, electric, diesel, tanks etc etc) of engine manufacturing.
The BrahMos was developed from Russia's NPO Mashinostroyenia (NPOM) P-800 Oniks family of cruise missiles, through a joint venture between NPOM and India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), named BrahMos Aerospace.

Shiv Sir, there appears to be a lot of confusion in our mind. You are comparing RAM Jet engine with a Jet engine. These are two quite different systems. RAM jets don’t have moving parts and a Jet engine (or a turbofan Jet) has several moving parts. The complexity begins with “METALLURGY” of turbine blades and it’s dynamic balance when it’s rotating with superfast speed inside. I think India is struggling with stable performance of turbine engine that can produce enough thrust. Otherwise, we already have developed Kaveri engine which is a Gas Turbine Engine.

main issue with Bhramos is we can't fit it into our 21inch torpedo tubes & to put it on Tejas MK1a or MK2 is nightmare in term of maneuverability for the delivery platform.. hence we need JASM or Storm Shadow like missile which we could even fit into our AMCA weapon bay & ITCM advantage is comparatively cheap missile which could also be put into torpedo tubes of our subs

My doubt regarding Brahmos is, since it's a joint project by India and Russia, does India have the resources to manufacture it on its own and ensure timely delivery? Do we still have a significant dependence on Russia to produce Brahmos?
