Excellent video! Thank you so much. Your information is very clear and ez to understand. Thank you for the models of each type of locking mechanism per sofa. This is the best video I have seen on this subject, and it has helped me immensely. Thank you.
I filed a claim for replacement and could get no response from the manufacturer when they asked for a pic of the label on the bottom of the section! This is what I needed. Thank you
How do you repair the power connectors bolt part thats pulled out of and broke the wood on a piece of the sectional. The whole unit has the bolt and angled slider connectors
Thank you for this video. Gave me some confidence also! I have a modular sofa set and bought the metal alligator clips. Since there isn’t any diagramed installation instructions that are clear and concise, might you share some tips on how to measure and place the clips for the best results. I am worried that the wooden sofa frame isn’t thick enough and/or if the wood become damaged over time? How well do these clips hold up over time? Should I reenforce the wood or is there nothing to worry about? Last question…why would a manufacturer Not place clips on the modular sofa? Too frail..etc? Thank you in advance, All the Best!
That’s a possibility. I would prefer at least a 3/4” thick piece of wood to attach to. As far as measuring, I’d probably split it into thirds if possible or maybe something as simple as 10” from the back and 10” from the front… nothing super specific as far as placement
Thank you very much for this helpful video. I saw the connector when they delivered the items, but the store left no instructions. Mine was the last one in your video. I think this will help me a lot.
Most helpful video I’ve seen . My issue is that the connectors are difficult to align because the cushions are large (non detachable) - any advice for this?
I have definitely struggled with this issue myself! If you have any clamps that fit the cushions, I would try that. Put some towels in between the clamp head and the cushions so you don’t get them dirty. If you don’t have clamps that big, you might see if somebody can help you pull the cushion back while you align them
Hi, great video! We bought 3 seat sofa with 2 recliners on each end. Unfortunately manufacturers didn't align middle seat properly. So, it's sort of more pulled inside. Is it hard to realign those locking brackets? One side is like your last example, while other is like your 2nd locking example? Thank you
Sorry for the delayed response. Two out of the three brackets can easily be screwed into a different place. The ones that are part of the metal frame obviously can’t be relocated.
@@the323vlog4 Thank you for your reply. I have managed to relocate the brackets. It was about 15mm each side. I was a little afraid to do it and honestly very annoyed. Thanks to videos like yours it came out good! Cheers and all the best 👍
Recently got an older reclining sectional. The previous owner did not use (and probably threw out) any connecting hardware. I bought the second style shown, but because the bottoms move with reclining, we can’t use them. What would you recommend?
I was thinking the recliner usually had connections built in to the metal frame. Feel free to send images of it to my email and I’ll try to help. The323concept@yahoo.com
My sectional came with the plastic alligator clips…they continually work loose. I bought the interlocking, I’m a little nervous to drill them into my sectional. Which do you consider the best?
The interlocking connectors work great if there’s not too much padding on the side of the recliners, and you actually can get them connected. I would not recommend putting them on there if you ever intend to separate the pieces with a visible edge. They also make metal alligator clips that are much better at staying together.
@@christinchristensen3898 I was going to say that will probably be your best bet. Or possibly eBay. I’ve never found them online . Feel free to send pictures of it to our email and maybe we can help with a solution. Our email is the323concept@yahoo.com
I usually stand behind it and pull backwards at an angle. It’s hard to explain. Sometimes, it helps to have someone at least hold the piece that you’re disconnecting from because it tends to pull with it.
I am a traveling repair tec. I am on my own in customers house . Some times a heavy sofa is sunk in to the carpet vary difficult to unhook. So I get 2 2x4s under the pice I won’t to lift out and just shake them they fall apart…
Can I rearrange them in order to face the TV better in my new living room? I have a [__ shaped sectional with one end piece being the arm rest with 2 complete seats plus a 1/2 of corner seat that attaches to the other 1/2 (completing the corner) with 3 complete seats that attaches to the chase with arm rest at end. The corner seat and the arm rests on both pieces makes it impossible to rearrange for a different shape. My living room is too small to turn the whole sectional the other direction as that cuts off over half of our space and there's only one viable option for our "TV wall" I just paid this piece off unfortunately, so new furniture isn't an option rn... Any diy suggestions you can suggest? I am willing to add a piece if I can get the chase part with 3 seats to also face towards the TV wall as well. The best way to explain my issue is the only part facing the TV directly is the 2 piece with 1/2 corner.. the rest is like sitting in a theater with the screen to the left instead of ahead infront... Watching TV as a family of 4 isn't a luxury we have now unless 3 of us sacrifice the crick in our necks after an hour or so... (We have 2 dogs that also have their own seats, usually on end of chase & corner spot) Any advice?
Sorry for the delay. Sometimes it depends. I’ve seen where the vendor doesn’t create a finished look where they connect. Sometimes they don’t run solid fabric where they connect, instead they’ll use a decorative black silky material
Yeah, the wedges are the most difficult for me as well. Seems like the cushions are always thickest there. If the cushions are removable that always helps. If not, having someone hold the cushion back might help.
Yes! Those can be very difficult. I have tried carefully bending the connectors outward so that they connect more easily. I also relive the cushions if possible
@the323vlog actually, no it doesn't it shows how the different fasteners work. It doesn't explain how to find out which ones I have, where they are and how you actually move the pieces apart. I figured it though. Have a beautiful day

What one do you suggest?
I like the metal alligator clips . They seem the most secure
How do you line the side by sides up correctly
Measure them from the front or rear of piece and make a mark on both pieces as a guide
I want to remove the c shaped section of my sectional. Do I need to turn the couch on it side?
No, you need to identify which type of bracket you have and try to follow the steps in the video.
Is there a way to disconnect the last system demonstrated with one person instead of two?
I just can’t get it disconnected by myself

Yea looks easy on wood mot so easy on a couch
Yup pain In The butt. Even harder to film it on a sofa ;)
I wish they would have put the bolt on the recliner side instead of the sectional side. because it is easier to lift the recliner than the sectional.
