What Actually Happened at Paris Fashion Week BESIDES Kylie Jenner’s Lion Head
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 фев 2023
- With another memorable walk from male model Leon Dame, this Paris Fashion Week Mens featured exceptional shows from Loewe, Maison Margiela, Junya Watanabe, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Comme des Garçons Homme Plus and more. We caught up with the designers from Airei and Liberal Youth Ministry, as well as channel legend Jan-Jan Van Essche. This January’s Fall Winter 2023 season comes right of the tails of a great showing of mens fashion at Pitti Uomo in Florence and Milan Fashion Week Mens. We even got to see the blue ruffled coat that Kylie Jenner wore to the Margiela show, but unfortunately, no Schiaparelli lion head dress this time.

Hey Bliss! There's scammers pretending to be you doing a "giveaway" you should watch out as they're praying on your fans ✌🏾😓
Well I've had friends that were wolves but pets is not the word I'd use for them.
Can't talk rn, Bliss Foster just uploaded.
Get out of my room, I’m watching Bliss Foster.
mom, stop interrupting me! bliss uploaded!
Lol omg recycled sushi salmon matériels? Lmao
Babe GET MY DINO NUGGETS OUT THE OVEN, ZADDY BLISS UPLOADED 😂🫶
I like that you are exploring designers that care more about the art than the hype. I'm not a big fashion person, but I love these interviews and hearing their narratives.
Bliss, you're literally the only person creating content like this. Thank you for your hard work, please don't ever stop
It´s clear that now big brands recognize the value of your work and now you have exlusive access. You are a great communicator and deserve all the recognition! Congrats, keep it going!
@BlissFoster.. sorry I´m maybe too old school and dont have Telegram... 😅 I´m curious about the prize still. But if its not posible, it´s ok, someone else gets to be lucky! Thanks Bliss!
Your face and micro expressions when he said, "this is made of human hair", said it all 😂.
I felt your pain at Comme. But this is a banger. I’m so happy you got to spend some time with the garments. What a treat that must have been! And HEYYYYYY Junya! All of the innovation - salmon leather?!
I want the Alex mask for obvious reasons…
6:46 All the Margiela stuff up close is so f&cking beautiful!!!
Agreeeeeeeee!
the hairpin fringe! the chiaroscuro tulle that is so john for dior but on another level!
the tabi stairs just made my heart happy
"I needed pants for dancing" killed me 😭
Stefano’s YSL was such a great phase and the spring/summer 2008 is one of the greatest shows of him at the brand .
Ludovic ya pronounced with a K.
😊
The Kolor look was so so so beautiful, I absolutely adore that kind of movement in clothing and it was almost surreal despite, like you said, how simple it was.
Great coverage as always, and excited to see some of the names added to this particular edit. Ziggy Chen in particular has been like a "Top Ten" brand for me for several years now and I'm happy to see them catch your eye. Ziggy Chen falls into a remarkably small list for me of brands where I think to myself, "If I could get the clothes for free in exchange for agreeing to EXCLUSIVELY wear that brand and nothing else, I would consider it."
I loved the talk with Leon Emanuel Blanc, thanks so much Bliss!
wasn't expecting the sudden rock music for doublet lmaooo i love it
So much here… thank you
It’s so impressive how Jonathan Anderson pushing creative boundaries with both Loewe and JW Anderson
I loved your commentary about Margiela and how John Galliano is bringing so much of himself while maintaining key Margiela characteristics further demonstrating John’s genius… he is almost other-worldly
Salmon leather??? Incredible… sustainability genius
Bliss !!! THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS ! Maison Margiela OMG !!! These details are why I love fashion ! ❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍
Thanks nice to have a new interpretation of designers!!!
Thanks so much, Suzie! I really appreciate you believing in what we're doing :)
The salmon leather jacket is beyond sick. Crying to my ancestors for one🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🔥🔥🔥
I particularly enjoyed the Maison Margiela collection. John Galliano has channeled the essence of this brand and yet made it his own. This show in particular mixed the deconstruction that I associate with the label and combined it with more classic elements, such as veiled hats for men and women, retro handbags, and stiletto pumps. One of the designer's favourite models, Leon Dame, always brings his unique personality to every show.
The Kolor jacket/skirt combination is also like an exploded view of the different layers that make up a jacket
I love seeing what Botter is up to, plus it's great to know that the backstage is as fun as the clothes
It really is! 😌
@@BlissFoster how many backstages are you invited into out of curiosity?
@@Vstrum since he is a reporter and critic, rather than an influencer, I'd assume quite a few - he must also have a media badge at Fashion Week which grants some access
The heat press that was used to heat-form the coat sounds very much like the heat presses that were used at the turn of the last century for corsets. Essentially they used a metal dress form with perforations in it. Steam was then funneled through the form to help the boning ease into shape on the form as the last step in producing corsets for retail sales. In the Simington Factory in England (now a museum that sells PDF's of their stock of corset designs, including the famous "Merry Housewife") this was considered to be a 'mans job'. Nice to see the technology has been brought forward into this century... well done Loewe. Stillness as an esthetic is fascinating.
It's fascinating to hear the behind-the-scenes, thought process that went into the various shows. And the opportunity to examine the clothing up-close-and-personal is simply stunning. Thank you. Fish leather is something I want to play with in my leatherwork. To my mind, having work in the food industry for a number of years, my theory is the atmosphere behind the runway-shows is a measure to how well a company will do. Happy people do their best work - don't buy from the 'yell-y pants' - you're wearing someone else's fear.
- Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
amazing work as always, thank you for taking the time to do this
Dude, this is your most important video to date, imo. Having the ability to vicariously witness fashion, for me, is incredible in itself - let alone realizing the impression of the movement, texture, presence of clothing… Smell? Seeing you interact with everyone from known to breakout designers is fantastic. Bliss, you’re so professional yet personable and therefore personal. Showing your genuine interest and intellect regarding their passion is all that an artist, let alone a person, could really ask for. I’m always impressed and captivated by your content and I feel that I’ve learned so much from a humble RUclipsr who is bursting with potential. Super excited to see where life takes you, thank you for everything!

Thank you soooo much Bliss! Again, you did a fantastic job and you never disappoint! That is why I did not hesitate to become one of your patreons and will continue to be! I can count on you to make me discover up and coming talents and as well, well thought comments. Love Ziggy Chen and I totally agree with you in regards to Galliano taking over Margiella house. He is the BEST choice for that brand and sooo happy that he has come back to fashion.
Josée du Québec!
I love how all these designers who value and appreciate their craft do not hold anything back because they know that their ideas flourish naturally
Strong agree
I have always agreed with what you have said and also what Rick said in the infamous „learn how to make clothes dont do sketches and collages „ but I am not going to lie, materials, fabrics, equipment, even a mannequin are so expensive and as someone trying to now get into college with no prior training or knowledge it feels so frustrating buying fabric and then basically wasting it because I dont know how to sew, draft pattern etc etc yet
fantastic as always, bliss.
really impressed with what you are doing with these interviews Bliss. Congratulations
Thanks so much!💫💫
LOVE YOU BLISS
Ugh your videos bring me so much joy via fashion, never stop fostering Foster 👏

This is great! Fashion show is one thing, but we want to see details of runway pieces. Great Bliss, love you forever. ✌️
THANK UUUUuu
lots of love
It's been a while since I "what the actual f" out loud. Thanks, Drew Curry. What in the actual f. Brilliant.
as always, great work
Thank you homie 💫💫
Been keeping my eye on Songzio for a while now, thanks for featuring them! Also 10/10 tip, visit Korea to buy pieces, you can get them for so much less compared to stockists abroad. Also subscribing to the Patreon for the LEB interview, big thanks.
@BlissFoster.. 8=========D
Fantastic content!
Thanks homie 💫💫
Love the caption of the video
Love the video! I have. a suggestion for future views like this, it would be great if you added chapters for each designer, would just be a nice way to see what's coming and to be able to come back to the video later on!
Great suggestion!💫💫
One day I will meet you backstage somewhere at one of my shows, I know it!
ugh the plaid jacket with the hand! 💜
get that 200k! great upload
So close!💫💫
Absolutely SPECTACULAR journalism... you INSPIRED my lazy azz being back home in Hawai'i pretending to be on vacation from fashion TRAGIC
This is some good, unscripted, and raw mens fashion content. Good job, I enjoyed this
Thanks homie! We put a lot of effort into these, the encouragement means a lot 💫💫
watching this inspired me to design / make my own clothes. thank you
Go crush it 🦾
Thanks!
Thank YOU! 💫💫
Love to see Stefano Pilati again and all his works ,the cut the designs is stunning.
Couldn't agree more!💫💫
You just made me fall in love with ziggy chen. His work somehow touches me
Ziggy is so awesome. I love his work
blessing in disguise jonzio moment and janjan frescoes yas!
Botter, one of my favorite shows this season! That salmon leather, wow! And I live in Tokyo, so I miss the Doublet shows that used to show here 😂
Stefano Pilati is such a gorgeous designer, very underrated which is a shame.
By the way, Ludovic is pronounced LudoviK 😆 French is hard, I feel for you 😉
I love the jacket fierce and the boots are beautiful for fall
Thank you for showing shows that are hors texte and for understanding and using the word “deconstruction” properly!😂
Not to be that person but the designer of doublet’s name is pronounced EE-no, not EYE-no (it’s the same as the i in issey miyake)
Great video as always! Thanks for taking is to all the showrooms especially, i love seeing the clothes in detail!
Ok serious question, do you have a source for this? 😅 I’ve been trying to figure out how to pronounce that name for a year and I have it split half and half for each answer 😂
@@BlissFoster Ino is a common japanese name. the person above is correct
was just in laguardia airport in nyc and saw someone who i thought was bliss foster , looked near identical
I’m 69 yo and you made me feel like I was 20 again in Toronto art school Thank You ❤️
Every word you say it’s just so well chosen when you are reviewing the clothes, I’m here thinking you are a master of rhetoric.
That means a lot to me, Paula, thanks for the encouragement 💫💫
i like stefano pelati random identities! good thinking
as if i didn't love stefano enough! the forehead tats are lit cherries on top
Love!!!!
white mountaineering~ white waterfall 🖤
I’m buying a piece from Songzio as we speak. Thanks for making me aware of them!
Yoooo that’s sick, I’m jealous! Send me a pic on IG of what you picked up 🦾
This season for menswear is outstanding!
Dont want to be that guy but we prononce ludovic : ludovik not ludovich. Great vid Bliss!!
I only strive for the style that Songzio’s garments appear like
“Fetishizing functionality pass the point of practicality” gad dayum
lol I can’t tell if this is a compliment or not 😆
interesting to muse why 'kolor' is spelled with a k rather than c. the green carpet works for the show too as an interesting floor color
the copper coat .... so cool.........
Is there part 2 of Paris Fashion week? Or is there one for Milan?
ooh bm at ldss! glad i paused for the black hanky skirt!
Hey, just a quick pronunciation note, for LDSS, Ludovic is not pronounced the Serbian way, since Ludovic de Saint Sernin is French, it's a quick k, as you would pronounce Ludovik. It's the French version of the germanic derivative for Louis, Ludwig, and as such is quite a short, percussive last sound. By the way, the Serbian -ić suffix is usually written with the accented ć to denote the way it is pronounced.
Te amo bliss
i can't remember the brand but read of a brazilian one that used tilapia leather years back
These past few weeks in Québec (Canada) there were days where it was going down to about minus 30 to 38°Celcius. To illustrate, you said in the vid that it was about 21F° which is equivalent minus5°Celcius ahah to us it ins't even considered that cold ahah if you want to experience to feel truly freezing temperature come here during the coldest part of winter! :)
(btw I know it's not what this video is about ahah)
Ziggy Chen!!!!!
Great video as always!
Just one totally vague and completely unrelated note for the suggestion box: I’d like to see more non-guy/dude/male designers discussed in general.
I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve seen here and loved the coverage for people like Rei and Bianca Saunders, and I’d love to see more. One name often dropped that I know practically nothing about, (being a regular-tegular person [don’t ask me why that makes me laugh, I just don’t know]) is Ann Demeulemeester. Love to see more on her and the whole Antwerp 6 story maybe? Maybe that’s a played-out, already covered topic, in which case I’d love it if someone could point me toward videos covering that subject.
Anyway, carry on and keep doing a fantastic job! Been dropping in and out of your work for a while as life gets crazy but I’m working my way through the backlog of videos on Patreon.
It’s kind of funny that you were not so sure about John garliano joining maison margiela but he his really doing great
We need a travel guide cuz I wanna go so bad 🤧
Antonio Zaragoza interview… film director Gus Van Saint (?) maybe you didn’t get it because of how he pronounced Gus as “Goose”?😜
Long video 🥳
I want those Botter sneakers
How do we pronounce? This designer logo name
Yo fun fact (not really all that fun) one of my mates in Turkey actually submitted that lion dress design for an Italian school and what do you know after a few weeks the exact design comes out. I mean the exact thing. Honestly, such a shame, fashion is dead.
Isn’t there a process for potential designs to be protected beforehand under NDAs? Are they protected in any way legally?
@@Bei.Incubi.Omnus. Yea, but suing one of these guys when you are a Turkish student with basically no backing with money is near impossible. People don't even know that it's stolen because going against these big names in fashion is just not possible, unfortunately :/
She didn't also think anyone would've stolen their design, since they were submitting it for a college degree in Italy.
high fashion barely different from fast fashion these days
@@user-jy9rq8nj7q please elaborate.
I dont want to be absolutely foolish, and maybe this is really inappropriate to say, but: The Ziggy Chen Show reminds me of the Holocaust, in particular of Ausschwitz.
The Place in whic this happens, this old barn like building, the heavy iron doors with the giant locks on it. The cold Stone floor. The way the models stand in a line in front of the wall as if they are being examined by the viewers. The run down way of the clothing, the grey colour palet and especially the striped pieces. This combined with the old vibe of tailoring those clothings have really just sends shivers down my spine.
Maybe its really just me but it was the first thing i thought about when seeing this collection. It reminded me of my visit of Ausschwitz and the clothing of the victims they showed there...
Uhm, no. It's not just you.
❤❤❤
I love how you gasped over salmon leather as if you didn't already know that Proenza Schouler did fish skins a decade ago, sans the sushi restaurant context.
Oh damn I didn’t know, that sounds awesome 🦾 Do you know what season? Thanks for putting us on 💫💫
@@BlissFoster shizzles... I spoke too soon without having details on my mind.. I want to say 2010s? It was a small collection of accessories but (almost) definitely was on the runway
Thankyou so much bill 🫂❤
swag
You look much better without glasses and with that head band.... Very refreshing
