They will be better this weekend! Handre had a off day we know how he can play, won the semi and final for us! This is going to be a big game winning this game makes it a series win , thats the type of game handre and faf flourish in!
I agree with you Jordan! Can't wait to see the Portugal game, I think Rassie will make a couple of changes to give the youngsters a chance so we can see the depth of our squad. It was refreshing to see guys like Sacha, Edwil and Fassi playing and actually contributing to the team.
Problem is when the half backs went off, the defensive lines collapsed, perhaps it’s less of them playing “bad”, but had a lot of pressure on the inside channels Irish hammering it all the time
9 Grant William, 10 Manie, 11 KLA, 12 De Allende, 13 Kriel, 14 Kolbe, 15 Sasha for the utility and goal kicking (first choice obviously Willemse if he wasn’t injured). This backline choice would’ve been a very good attacking side.
In all honesty as a neutral, kwagga is not your best starting 8, my assesment of last week is that you really need another strong ball carrier,, lost so many balls to isolated forward carries, and kwagga just plays better from yhe bench.
You got spoiled with Thor, it's hard to replace him it's nice to see Roos and Hanekom and we will have wise back as well. But kwagga is not a 8 but filled in great and can pack a punch so I believe work on Roos and Hanekom for future 8's
I don't think you will see us with a completely new style. Maybe in the first 10-20 mins of games but not for a full half or full game unless we have to chase the game. The smallest refinement of the new system and we are flying as no.1. The breakdown has always been difficult against Ireland. Rassie is playing some bluffs. I reckon you will see Dellende do more keeping the ball in hand and Eben too. The bluff is that we will play the locks near the wings and play with more depth but in Durban the humidity can be difficult with ball handling so I expect a classic WIllie tactical kicking game, bash up and up and unders to be contested. The boks are developing many different game plans, it was the same in the World cup - the way we played against France was very different to England & NZ and now we are unlocking the Irish. We have never been placed better to beat everyone this year and get that Rugby Championship!
Happy with the team, I agree that Faf wad not best suited for the game plan. One could even argue that Pollard doesn't quite fit in that style but I honestly do not think the Boks will play the same as we did at Loftus. I believe thr Boks played that way to just have the Irish run from left to right and up and down that pitch for the full 80min. I honestly think the Irish are knackered after that game and this weekend would be the one where we actually put them to the sword! I disagree with pundits saying the 2nd test will be closer, I don't believe so at all. Ireland's best chance was the first test. I think we will adapt a hybrid style this weekend and the Irish will have a horrid time this week trying to analyze the Boks because we have completely played away from our tradition strengths by spreading the ball wide every single time we got it. Ireland also felt the hits of the first game with rumors of having 4 key injury concerns. They don't have our depth and I think we will murder them this weekend. Boks.by 20+
@hasparov let's wait until after this weekend mate, Ireland is very comfortable playing in Europe and scheduling home games. Playing away is not as easy, Boks made so many mistakes in the first game and still managed to beat Ireland dispite only having been training together for 2 weeks prior. I think you are delusional if you think Ireland will get close in Durban.
@@christianloots495 I'm pointing out a fact - that is objectively the team's record including many games v SA, France, and New Zealand. Yes, Ireland might lost by more than a score but, equally, SA may not go as well.
Well we won making some significant mistakes (dropped balls, missing kicks for line and poles) and allowing them to cheat and get away with it (lying on the wrong side, non engagement in the scrum. With the same team we can work on these issues and be even better.
@@TheFreddyKruegerFan99 I know, Irish Porter got away with too much in the scrum. Holding back and clearly pulling down ffs. Bring on the 2nd test and lets finish this crap.
Willie will be out downfall. Rassie is too stubborn to see this guy's useless. But Mannie gets changed within 10 minutes and absolutely kills his confidence? Why was Handre taken off for missing those horrendous kicks? Rassie needs to get his head out of Willie's gat
I would go a couple of steps further and drop the players who did not perform, and that would include Faf, Handre and de Allende. The side would just have so much more speed and talent in the backline with a Reinach/Williams, Libbok and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu in the lineup. I would also choose Fassi at fullback instead of le Roux. We have a good side with great talent waiting to be unleashed!
@@Straightdeal That's the thing when the likes of Fassi, Libbok perform against Portugal, people will say it's just Portugal. If we want to play a more expansive game, players like Faf, Pollard, DDA won't take us there

Folks saying Faf too slow; it’s new tactic to draw the defensive line and maneuver around.
Agreed
I think Mannie Libbok would be perfect for our new style of play
Amen, where the hell is Manie! If you’ve got a manie you don’t need a Willie 😜

Wise selections... continuity is crucial. They played below par, and still won. We need another packed stadium on Sat 🏉
Can’t wait to see Manie back soon
Great meeting you at Loftus on Saturday. Keep up the good work!

Roos for Kwagga at 8

In 40 international matches going back to 2020, how many times have Ireland lost by more than a score? Once.
