"Walcott" performed too well, can't stop rewatching it!
SETLIST
0:55 Cousins
4:09 Have I the right?
7:47 California English
11:05 Walcott
16:50 Horchata
20:41 A-Punk
Tusen Takk!
Thank you !
Great work 😁
What a great opener
@@micahchambers5096 yeah too bad it was so slow. Still great tho
seriously what had someone got to do to get invited to one of these?? this is just the purest thing ever
Watch our website and FB/Twitter. We announce them a couple of days before it happens. It's in Paris though!
Go to a sofar event
Their old albums make me feel feel nostalgic, they sound perfect.
Takes me back to college. I cry for nostalgia every time I see them live
I have a new respect for Baio and all of his bass playing on these tracks. Damn licks are tasty and really sets the tone throughout each song.
Ezra has a popular high school English teacher inspiring kids to read 1920s classics vibe. He would definitely have gotten me a big ole 5 in AP Lit.
Sumin Lee lmao he used to be an english teacher for a bit
hey laspen yep^
Lol he looks like he would be an English teacher.
@@andresjrz99 he was an English major and taught for a while as well.
he was a middle school teacher in new york till 2007
4:10 - 7:21
This sequence is so addictive.
So rare to see such a happy moment, from the smiles of the audience to the enthusiasm of the musicians. Thank you so much.
That "NO!" at 10:39 kills me every time. That guy really does not want the show to end.
California English without the original autotune and sounding the same.
That singer is a beast.
I'm so glad I happened to go on RUclips at 2 am in the morning to find this.
French speaking Ezra
omg la blogotheque is me
Jonathan Barron could have done with less clapping
clapping is a physical expression of joy, sorry ur joyless dude
Jonathan Barron I just want to hear the music and not white chicks with no rhythm clapping. That would bring me immense joy.
Really well done, filming/editing and music. Ezra is a very charismatic live performer and I feel this kind of atmosphere is perfect for him.
when ever i see ezra preform i always smile like an idiot because i love the way he hops and bounces
Brianna Houle precisely my thoughts
In California english I like how they all got hype and im just like "I DONT KNOW WHAT HES SAYING OTHER THAN WHEN HE SAYS CALIFORNIA ENGLISH BUT HELL YESSSS"
7:54, she’s so unimpressed...I hope she grows up and listens to vampire weekend and realizes she was at this performance
omg that rendition of 'california english' is incredible!!
its the bass line the bass line the bass line!!
Baby Vampire Weekend..be still my heart
And all of our baby Blogothèque faces in the background
This video and this concert is the epitome of joy
Chris Baio on the solo for "California English" is everythin
This is tooo good, the vibe, the cinematography, the sound quality, it’s all a perfect mixture for a VW live recording. It’s rich
Real Ramirez editing too
Good gosh they're so fun and feel-good, I adored this!
Shot in 2009, damn. Still waiting for that new album
Robeban2 94.5%
Same
Robeban2 I’ve got good news for you
@@christianchidester4475 hahah, yes yes, me as well friend
the wait is over
Ezra’s style is so original and classic. Great fashion
they got lucky the audience all knew how to clap on time
and that they all committed to it...
Jayce Haley thats cuz the beat was on 1. try a syncopated and we shapl see
I was thinking the same thing haha. It doesn't even matter if the beat is on the 1 -- audiences usually speed up when clapping and throw the band off-time. This audience has got it though.
pretty annoying, though
That is rare in France 😁
So good. LB + VW remains one of the best combinations known to man. Thank you for sharing.
First time seeing this... What a crowd! Clapping on time, knowing when to make noise and when to shut up. Unreal, and unreal performances
This is the purest thing ever. It still makes me so happy
You know is good when you wish you were there!
This is pure talent. Walcott especially. No microphones, no amplification. No stage gimmick. Pure excitement.
You know you're doing it right when audience reacts that way. (California English "sans Auto-Tune" sounds amazing)
The little girl looking at Ezra like "Qu'est-ce que vous parlez?"
Ezra's vocal performance on California English... wow.
Jonathan McCurdy what do you think
I don’t know what to think of it
@@sivvansharma3023 it has the energy of a drunk person going crazy on karaoke and I love it
This song makes so much more sense played with all acoustic instruments, better than the album version
This is almost life giving.
Damn! That performance of Horchata was phenomenal.
My all-time favorite vampire weekend video!
this is so pure
This is so amazing! Best footage of a VW concert ever. Loved every angle!
N I C E, I tried to find this performance online two years ago or so but couldn't find it, thanks for uploading!
also I love how communal this feels, something about the band playing among the crowd, kinda like that clip of Arcade Fire's 'Wake Up' on your channel, it's just great. definitely my favourite VW live performance.
They should've done the French verse of Pizza Party
This made me laugh...I agree
I'm glad these videos exist.
I'm seeing Rostam in Philly tomorrow I'm so excited
the french love their clapping
why don't people talk about rostam's harmonies because they tie it all together
Eileen King very true
rostam's everything ties it all together. also he speaks french very well
Tell me more, King. Who is Rostam, and are there videos of them playing on RUclips?
@@aniketsharma5870 Rostam is one of the band members of VW. You are watching him now!
@@aniketsharma5870 it's the one guy who's in a plaid shirt! :)
There is a thing called dynamics, the constant 👏 ❤️
Okay this is actually the greatest gig crowd of all time, they even oo'd the melodies in A Punk
All-time greatest rendition of California English
the most amazing video i've watched in the past months
🧡Such a special performance. 🧡THANK YOU for sharing.🧡
9:03 is just too damn good man 😂
I always listen to this song when I'm feeling sad. This video is powerful
this is such a great session
This performance of Walcott is my personal version of the elixir of life
This is Friday work music! Thanks for posting!
Shawn T exactly!
spotify, i need that cover of Have I the Right please
The best way to start off a friday
I remember watching this when it had recently came out and now watching it again almost ten years later makes me even happier to know they are still going strong.
I love this so much it makes me so happy oh
The best version of walcott so far
Oh mineee! Awesome performance! Good indeed maaan
amazing
ezra is so soft and goofy i want to b his tambourine
Next after Queens performance on Live Aid in 85, I think this is the best concert footage ever
I still don't understand how this is not in the top 5 of Blogothèque, at least of the Soirées. I mean, nothing can beat Alicia Keys, but this is probably one of my most-watched live vidoes ever.
genial blogoteque...
sigues subiendo el nivel, igual que antes cuando iniciabas
Been bleeting on about this for years now 😂 its so good 💚✌️
You can't exist without pleasure, even for a second,
and it's hard to have sorrow for a long time. Such is existence 💃
thank you!
You're welcome :)
So fun!
Im a simple person, I see vampire weekend , I click
veronica - im with u on that one 😛
Me too. They are one of the only bands in the last 10 years that has made me give a shit about what they record.
Insane how good this is
Rostam speaking french!
And Ezra!
Definitivamente este vídeo es hermoso
I love how Ezra finally got the crowd clapping on 2 and 4 for Wolcott.
omg. amazing.
Amazing

This has such an Arcade Fire vibe to it...LOVE LOVE LOVE
Buena Kevin Arnold 👏🏻
Pretty nice
A question for the channel, I notice that all of the recently uploaded soiree de poche have been filmed years ago, but are only being released now. So my question is are you guys still recording the soiree de poche at present? I sincerely hope so, as they are the best way that I have been able to discover new music, artists, and bands. The intimate sessions really bring out the best in all of the groups and allow you to fall in love with a band or artist very quickly. Much love for this channel
Hey Brandon,
Our Soirées de Poche are first released on our partner's website, Arte Concert, for a certain amount of months only.
It took us ages (Blogolazy ha!) but we are slowly reuploading all the Soirées de Poche on our YT channel this year so that's why they are back online now, sometimes years and years after they were first released.
And yes, the Soirées de Poche are still happening. We recently did Hamilton Leithauser from the Walkmen, and our 50th Soirée de Poche (!) with Blaenavon, Isaac Gracie and Lewis del Mar.
They are both on Arte Concert website, as well as a few oldies (Charles Bradley, Feist, Villagers and Son Lux)
concert.arte.tv/fr/collections/soirees-de-poche
More are coming this year but it's still secret :)
Amazing! Thanks you for the information. You guys are awesome!
I liked it
good vibes only
Tight!
oh my goodness
Me in my heart in the mid-1980s, and mind in the early 1990s, perhaps... I was aiming for Schubert, but probably hit Tchaikovsky, two later, instead... Oh well! Perfect setlist for that... Scarily. C'est par la mer a boire.
Ahhhhh....They old days when they had to close with A Punk
Total smile fest
if i was there i probably couldn't control myself, i would manically dance with such passion i would probably get kicked out
