Excelente trabajo. Felicitaciones.
Ableton for brainstorming/songwriting/arrangement, specifically in session view. Flatten tracks and move them over to S1 for final mixing and mastering. Especially for building albums on the Project page. The Project Page is great for organizing albums and final mastering. Both have their pain points and key points, but the both of them together is a perfect marriage if you ask me. Thanks!!! Gregor has a video on this workflow, its what got me on the bandwagon.
Good to see someone else who uses both programs. What do you notice the most about the quality difference regarding the time stretching between S1 and Live?
Ableton live sounds so much better and has more modes to choose from. I can convincingly warp guitar timing problems in Ableton and I cannot do that in S1. But S1 has a great workflow. and you also have the option to chop the audio and move that around, event quantize without even using warping.
Great video, thanks for the thorough rundown of feature sets. I personally use both of these DAWs, and for different purposes that you touched on in the video - ABLETON for ideation, preset hunting w/MIDI parts, translating stems from peers and common fluency between musicians I might be working with - STUDIO ONE for getting down to work arranging/editing/mixing/mastering. The handling of audio editing, third party plug-ins, send/return routing and mixing/mastering within STUDIO ONE is simply more robust and functional compared to ABLETON, which I think is fantastic at capturing the flow of inspiration when it's striking and for it's creative possibilities in the studio and while performing.
Great video! (I'm trying to figure out if I want to upgrade from S1.4 to S1.7 - amazing how good S1.4 is, but it's not supported by Windows 11, and it's $91 legally if you know where to look. . .)
Fair comparison and review . Ableton really excel when we need generating bunch of ideas and sound design . And Ableton session view + MAX4Live really powerful for those tasks . But I kind agree with you , after get the song and sound ideas , I`m prefer to rebuilding those in another DAW ( reaper in my case) than using arrangement view
Studio One is really worth a try. I was using FL Studio and Cubase and was amazed by the way Studio One looks and works. Its super easy to learn and has a good workflow.
What is reaper got to do with this video? It is about the comparison of new updates of certain daws that released around the same time. But then again you see “have you tried reaper?” under nespresso machine comparison videos too. The evangelism is unbelievable
Ableton has too small plugins for my taste, although you have bunches quite interesting to play and make beats. I define it as a big modular synth with recording and mixing capabilities. I switched to S1 and never came back though.
i have seen a bench mark for DAW performance on the new m4 chips and studio one 7 seems to have a lot of performance issues which was a turn off. i was eyeing it for a while when it came out but am gona stick to my Ableton and cubase combo. Here is what am talking about ruclips.net/video/hccy19Hm6M8/видео.html. Despite all that i believe should go with what works for you.
yeah I seen that as well. It’s surprising how poorly optimized it is on alot of the silicon processors period. Bitwig actually performs the best out of all daws over Logic even which is very surprising but..That’s Apple for ya!!
Omg bro u r the best .. I watched the whole video ..i swear u r the best ever ...❤❤ So for me the order is 01 nuendo.02 cubase.03 studio one .04 Ableton live.05 pro tools & logic pro.06 .FL studio..than other daws like ..bitwig .dp .. waveform.samplitude .luna.mixcraft. reaper reason...etc ... So plllllllllz plllz pllzzzz bro Please make a video comparing other daws especially (NUENDO..CUBASE.. LOGIC PRO ..PRO TOOLS..FL STUDIO..)❤❤❤❤ PLLLLZ BRO MAKE THE ALL DAWS THAT I MENTION .. I really haven't seen anyone compare software like you. I hope you take my request into consideration...and don't forget the zoom process in daws ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Plz im witing for this comparison videos ..soon pllllz ...u gona make me choose the best for me .... ❤❤❤❤❤
I was an avid user of Ableton since v7 but I left around v11 for S1. Their lack of innovation just bored me especially for the price you pay for every update. Ableton has way more plugins but mostly it’s just the same plugin with a slightly different setting. And I never liked how plasticy some of the Ableton plugins sound. S1 on the other habd seems to lack plugins but the ones that are there sound really nice and their modular config gui for inserts makes it easy to just build like everything. Side-chain compressing just the 400Hz band of the sides and then add reverb just to that? Yeah, go ahead. And you don’t need to churn out money for m4l to do that. Also it’s really easy to for example have your drum rack midi in the arranger and the individual drum channels in the mixer only. Explode drum tracks is also a must have imho. Same for the sends. I don’t need my sends in the arranger. So I set them to just show up in the mixer. On the other side I don’t need midi lanes in the mixer. S1 is so powerful and deep. Ableton stayed shallow for me until the end.
Bitwig for me currently ive tried so many daws I own ableton 12.1 the look and clutter of abletons bult in instruments are not my favourite. I use both but im looking at every daw out there studio one and protools are the only ones i have ot tried yet.
With one huge caveat to all this comparison. For a person who only works off laptop screen S1 is almost unusable. Because it’s interface non scalable. All the menus end up taking all screen and leave you with little of main part. Sadly cold not move to S1 because of that…
And it’s horrible for Mac OS mobile specifically with that side of things have a qwerty keyboard hang bug when playing notes and moving knobs with mouse at same time
you obviously favored Ableton Live 12.1 You must be crazy to think Ableton Midi is better than studio one 7 midi. Ableton Live 12.1 is a DJ DAW. STUDIO ONE is a studio recording DAW. big difference. Audio, video, editing, and sound quality are night and day. Ableton is just an upgraded FL studio. Lol 😂😅😊
Studio one for sure have lots of advanced midi features than ableton, although those doesn't mean speed up your workflow to write midi notes . For example to moving a note right or left we need to hold two keystrokes , which means you lose access with your mouse or stylus . Same thing with edit or playback cursors etc. For peoples who wrote lots of midi notes those second which lost matter . STEP midi also have problem , you can move advanced with "REST" but "BACK" function from toolbar not really makes our cursor back but instead deleting last note which already written . The simple solution maybe is building several "most used" macro " but still, you need to move your mouse in toolbar area which again takes some seconds which better to spend for writing next notes.

I use Ableton for songwriting and Studio One for mixing both stereo and Atmos. Two completely different DAWs whose strengths are in these areas.
Have you used the Ableton link with these two ?
I can’t get it to work properly :(

@@LucasMessore Didnt really notice that in this video
@@filthyjay7518 yeah - was totally surprised after hearing both, then he says, "obviously, Ableton is better. . ." WHAT?
what is the best options then with app download options?

Congrats. Both are great. I don't like rack view in live, love studio one even it lack some features
Ableton's Fades on track start/stop is an option that can be turned off. Makes edits in the session view a lot quicker.
Awesome job!
very helpful, I’ve been looking at studio one for a while now (coming from live)
