Props for owning up to your mistakes in such a hilarious way
Agreed. this was fun to watch.
totally. Greg is great
Haha, it’s all worth it if we can all have a good laugh
Multiverse of madness should have had Clint in it. He could have helped being Wanda back to reality.
While also building his character.
Like the msheu cares about good writing. That's dead.
Would have been nice to bring her back to reality at all, but instead they did a J-turn and made Wanda a villain suddenly. Horrible
It really should have. Somehow Wanda turning to villainy didn’t at all reference or involve Clint or Vision. Sure regular Vision was dead…but multiverse.
“These are Linux users” got me dead😂😂😂😂😂
Despite the L's I've really enjoyed the channel. I'm Look forward to more in 2024
Thank you! I am as well. I’ve got fun stuff planned
So happy to see the Hawkeye appreciation. Long overdue.
There were extremely compelling arguments and I’m glad to have read them!
We need this man on Drinker's Open Bar. 🎉
Yeah we do!
I gotta just email those guys, I think
Omg yes !!

I actually loved the scene where Kate makes the difficult, but moral decision to turn her mother in. It showed she evolved from seeing being a hero as more than just a cool job, but as a genuine responsibility.
Mad respect to anyone actually willing to say they are wrong on the internet. I hope this starts a trend
I don't know. I thought they nailed Kate. She's learning, she's likeable, the interaction with Yelena was hilarious. She also showed love and appreciation for Hawkeye vs. treating him like a relic. It was classic character building.
It really was well done. I think the overall mood of the MCU colored my viewing of it
I’m with you about Frozen. I’m pretty sure it was a 2 hour music video for Let it Go.
I think that’s actually extremely accurate. I recall hearing BTS stuff that they wrote that song and it changed the entire plot
tangled blows frozen out of the water in every way
W take
1000% correct. Tangled is outstanding
You seemingly popped out of nowhere and I haven't not watched one of your videos since you first were suggested and you calling out Gary is probably my favorite moment so far. If you ever were on Friday night tights or something I would love it
I would love it, too! I gotta just email those guys, I think.
Thanks for the kind words!
I found you when you were around the 10k sub mark, I think. Seven or eight months later, here I still am.
I'm not bothered on whether the person I'm watching is right or wrong. I can do my own research to find that out. I care more about seeing the perspective that leads to the point you're making. Yours is consistent, but more importantly, you're just fun to watch.
Keep it up, man.
I greatly appreciate the kind words and the continued watching!
I've really enjoyed your channel and I hope it continues to grow! This was a very unique video that not many other content creators would have the courage to make. Keep up the good work!
LOL. No worries, Greg. All is forgiven. Because when I need a “lift me up,” I re-watch your review of Puss N Boots 2. It always makes me feel good.
I’m glad for that.
Gosh, I can’t say enough good things about that movie, what a triumph
Frozen and Encanto? I think you are just underestimating how important having really catchy songs can be for the audience, especially if that kind of movie.
"I hope you enjoyed this video, because I hated every second of this."
.
*pats you on shoulder* It's good for your soul to realize and admit you were wrong sometimes. And hey, you just had more character growth than many well known figures, both real and fictional, ever demonstrate! Good job, gold star, keep it up!
Greg struggling to say "wrong" reminded me of Billy Zane's character trying to say the word "love" at the end of Demon Knight. "I lllll......you."
Great movie! Billy Zane at one of his bests! What is it about bald men with thick eyebrows that make for good, almost sympathetic, villains?
Seems like it's a reference to The Fonz: ruclips.net/video/HbIjJg9QO1I/видео.html
Glad you put respect on Clint’s name.
I admit he certainly deserves it
I agree with you about Clint. Compared to the others, he's 6 out of 6, in part because he got the short straw in development. On his own, he could be interesting, like Daredevil. Can't do what Iron Man or Thor can, but can have interesting grounded stories. My problem with the "Hawkeye" show is that Kate is as good as or better than Clint out of the gate, but Clint is much older, more experienced, and stronger (bow tension is no joke), and the show focused on her rather than Clint. Introduce her, sure, but it's not like Clint was the star of the first movie he was in.
Agreed on Frozen, very OK and even bizarre at points. I'm really glad every little girl everywhere lost her mind for that movie, but good Disney used to thrill multiple audiences with their hits (Aladin, B&B, Lion King, Nemo).
It's just the best thing Disney had made in a long time. And way better than anything they've made in the past 10 years
Dang it Greg. I DO have a half way chair. How dare you be right about that.
The halfway chair makes sense! It’s not clean but it’s not dirty, plus I’m planning to wear it tomorrow!
Can't wait for the family review on Godzilla. I really hope you all get to see that.
I hope I can also. I’m hearing overwhelming praise for ti!
At 0:35 Greg does his best Fonzie impression.
"The Halfway Chair".
Oh my goodness, you slip in some comedy jabs.
As a Hawkeye enjoyer and recreational Linux user, I can't be upset at a very accurate comparison 👏👏
No, man. Your worst L this year was stating that WISH WAS A GOOD MOVIE. You worst point on a very good year. Love the channel.
You've proven yourself a mensch. Well done. Clint got a tiny speech in a couple of movies showing that he was aware it was ridiculous that he was on the Avengers. I think Killmonger sux as a villain. His motivation and plan are ridiculous. And his only success was because T'Challa suddenly lost the ability to explain himself at a crucial time. Jon Snowing himself into a plot.
Er ist ein Mensch?
@@RaiderPlays Ja.
*googling mensch, am I being insulted?
Oh, nice, the opposite! I appreciate the kind words!
M-C-Uterus is clearly worth 4 points on the board. So, I say you came out on top.
Hey! I'm glad you came around and understood why fans think Clint is cool!
There's this one bit of dialog from Age of Ultron that I really like regarding this...
Laura: I totally support your Avenging. I couldn't be prouder, but I see those guys.....those Gods.
Clint: You don't think they need me.
Laura: I think they do, which is a lot scarier.
They both know that he's just a mortal among "gods", ( you could say literally), but he's still vital to the team as someone who will have their backs, even if it's just with arrows. Being a support role isn't boring, its pivotal.
Looking forward to another year of videos!
Growth.. we love to see it!
Funny how they wanna go with the "they're are no real villans" thing.....yet if you vote tge wrong way, you're DEFINITELY the villan.
So proud of you ! And it never matters to me right / wrong , I'm just here for your thoughts!
Hawkeye appreciation. I waited so long. You are redeemed in my eyes, brother.
I have that blue flannel too. So comfortable
- You're correct, Frozen is terrible.
- Sokka == Hawkeye, I'm on board.
- Linux is the way of the warrior.
Interested in more of your longer videos.
Especially philosophy related ones.
This was absolutely fantastic. Thanks for so many laughs!
Greg…”Let it go!” 😂
Well, I'm glad you started at my low point. It can only get better from here, lol
So glad you popped up in my recommended this summer. I often rewatch videos just because you're so much fun to listen to. And you're right about Frozen.
Hawkeye had the advantage of the best actor from the original Avengers* and the best replacement actor (Hailee and Jeremy are among the best working in Hollywood today). NTM getting to see Vincent as Kingpin again.
*That's right, I said it. Jeremy Renner is the best actor of the original Avengers. Followed by Johannsen, Ruffalo, then RDJ. With the Chrises bringing up the rear.
Now THAT would be a very good debate. RDJ is incredible as Iron Man, but is he a good actor, or was it just the perfect type casting? That would make for excellent discussion
You havent done a whats in the cup in so long. Bring it baaaack😂
Not a bad idea. I need a new tea sampler!
Funny story about Spanish. My wife is Cuban and is 100% bilingual. I've lived in Costa Rica 10+ years so I speak Spanish like a precocious 3 year old. (Lots of words, terrible grammar.) We were in NH at a Mexican restaurant and my wife ordered quesadillas and the waitress got a panicked look on her face and asked her again. Failed the second time so I pronounced it with the hard L "case uh dill uhs". So I got to be the hero, ordering food in "Spanish" for my completely bilingual Cuban wife.
So I don't think many Latinos/Spanish speakers (NOT Latinx!! Ugh) would think you a 'pretentious pretender por properly pronouncing' Encanto.
Glad to be apart of beginner gang that subscribe to you during your big push on this platform. Videos like these is why subscribed mad respect
I greatly appreciate you being part of the gang!
you are one of my new favorite channels! Keep them coming!
Thank you so much!
I"m just glad SOMEONE agrees with me that Frozen and Encanto are over-rated...I feel like I'm the only one! THANK YOU!!!
Encanto is very generic, I've never seen anyone saying it's a great movie
I'm with you... Frozen is a C-tier Disney movie, about as enjoyable as Robin Hood or Oliver and Company. Encanto was trying to be a Ghibli movie ("The villain is family trauma!") but it's not a Ghibli movie, and the music is terrible. The last REALLY good Disney movie was Princess and the Frog. That's a B-tier.
You're not the only one, bro. :)

Omg u called me out on the halfway chair bit
Greg you are a delight and I'm so happy I found this channel. It's hard to be a real human on the internet but you are making a damn fine stab at doing so.
Thank you so much, I’m glad you are enjoying it!
The halfway chair is purgatory.
CV = "curriculum vitae, Latin for 'course of life', often shortened to CV, is a short written summary of a person's career, qualifications, and education." A fancier, more formal way of saying resume.
11:12 unintentional comedy =\= straight up comedy
It’s a comedy of errors at this point
i saw radio head live in KC and they had the vocals mixed so loud it made everything sound off somehow. True stroy, LOL.
Concert vocals can be shocking sometimes. You suddenly find out just how talented the studio tech is, lol.
I only liked Frozen because my daughter who was 4 when it came out absolutely loved it. She was 4 though. She had terrible taste.
Im gonna leave this channel interaction right here. Do with it what you will, Greg. Also I love your use of the Bluey font!
I appreciate that!
Grounded as usual. Good video !
In regards to the pronouns issue. The people in the "study" are probably just falling victim to the same problem as the people on the Dartmouth Facial Scar Experiment.
Cliffs: people thought they had a scar on their face and as a result said people treated them differently on interviews when in actuality they didn't have a scar
to be fair i wouldn't hire someone who put their pronouns on their resume. don't care what they are just that the act of informing you that they are means they will be pretty intolerant. nobody wants to deal with their crap. its not discriminating against gender since it is any pronoun and nobody is required to put it down.
@@ttrev007 On the other hand, my industry has gone full tilt down that road. If you DON'T give your pronouns, it means you're not "one of us"... regardless of what your pronouns are, even if you gender identity is obvious and you're a Chad McChaderson with a 50's haircut and button-up shirt whose hobbies are beer and sports, you have to be the sort of person who gives pronouns to prove you're "one of us."
@@CoryTheRaven that sounds like a real fun place to work.
This was funny and I liked it because I’ve seen all the videos you referenced. I also agree with your new view on Clint, even though I know I’m biased because I just really like Jeremy Renner. But your new reasons for liking him are my reasons for liking Clint (though Steve Rogers is still my favorite). Side note: I fully agree with you on the dry bakes that Paul Hollywood seems to prefer! You know when he calls something over-baked it must be dry as a bone!
I'm with you on having a HUGE problem saying "I was whhhhhaa..."
Thanks for u turning on Hawkeye, it's actually the only D+ show I've bothered rewatching. Also I'm a sucker for New York City at Christmas time.
Also Kate was probably the only replacement shevenger that they actually justified why she had the skills and talent she did. Was inspired watching the Avengers first hand in the Battle of New York then dedicated her life to training in archery, judo, and fencing. So at least she's not a Mary Sue, plus she just felt more real than the other shevengers.
She really was well fleshed out, and they gave her real moral dilemmas and self-doubt as well, which is what made the original Avengers so good.
Great stuff as always Greg - was missing your videos the last few weeks.
Thank you!
Hopefully we’re back on track after December, it’s always so busy!
@@gregowen2022amen to that brother!
This is fascinating. Can't say I've seen too many videos focused exclusively on stuff that the host did wrong (other than a lame apology video).
It was fun to make, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I'm all in on Frozen is overrated! You are not alone, Good Sir!
Whew! Nice to know it’s not just me
I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.
Greg- for both En-cannot-o, and Frozen, I know why everyone likes it, the songs are so "good sounding" they don't remember the rest of the movie.
Yup, totally agree, Yelena is my favorite. Kate is OK, and Maybe Kamala. All the other turned out to be crap, or were victims of character assassination . I do like Clint too, but I wouldn't say hes my favorite of the OG. But definitely far from boring and is a character I do/did enjoy watching. I think my biggest complaint w/ his series is that the ending felt quite rushed. It needed like 1 more episode, maybe 2, just flesh out the conflict w/ him and Yelena better. IMHO.
The halfway chair😂😂😂
It makes sense though! The clothes aren’t clean enough or dirty enough and I’m totally going to wear them again this week!
@gregowen2022 I too have the halfway chair, always laden in pants that could be worn again before laundry day
As a Linux user I'm offended that you'd lump me in with Clint lovers...he's definitely the worst avenger. 😂
Frozen and Encanto definitely live off good music because everything else in those movies is bang average. 100% agree
Great vid! Love your interactions with us in the comments - makes us feel important. :D
You guys are what keeps the channel going!
Also, I plunder the comments for ideas and jokes, lol. When you post a good idea, it becomes OUR idea, comrade!
Thinking of T'Chala and Killmonger and how he progressed it character reminded me of Dr. Strange and Mordo. Mordo kinda just disappeared and his story arc of becoming a villain faded away. Sure, he was in MVOM but that wasn't the same guy. It would have been nice if that went somewhere.
If it was resolved or even touched on much after End Game, I don't know. End Game was a "We're done here" type of movie and I haven't given Marvel movies much notice since other than MVOM.
Agreed, and Engame seems like the studio was done there, as well. They don’t seem to have a plan now
To be fair to Hawkeye he was used in Captain America and The Avengers video game back in the early 1990's. Along with Cap, Iron Man, and Vision. So he has been given his dues in some essence. I dropped so many quarters into that game when I was kid.
Great video by the way well done.
You kind of remind me of comedian Jim Gaffigan, might be the voice? But regardless great year Greg, glad to have found the channel!
Hey, I’ll take it, Jim is funny! I’m glad you are enjoying it!
3:40 they do tend to do that alot
I’m a Jeremy Renner fan, and his character got bonus points from me when I saw he had a family farm. Small town guy doing what he can to protect his family’s future.
I had no interest in the show because I’m a fan of MALE superheroes with women sprinkled in occasionally.
Too many of my favorite super heroes have been replaced with women for me to care, which I admit is a shame because archery is a more believable thing for a woman to be good at.
It's worth a watch if you like Renner/Hawkeye. The female characters make sense and don't totally distract/overpower the titular male character. The ending with Kingpin is a little 'ehhhh', but overall I thought Hawkeye gets a good send off and Kate gets a good intro. It also happens during Christmastime, so it's the perfect time to watch it. Just borrow a friend's login if you need to.
Agreed, it’s easy to overlook this one or judge it harshly like I did because of the overall direction and spirit of the MCU, but the show really handles Bishop’s growth well and respects Clint at the same time.
10:15 - Right in the balls. The hurt a bit.
MC Uterus sounds like a rapper from the late 80s 😂
Years of practice? Kate is like 15! Clint spent more time in the circus and dodging his homicidally drunk dad than she did “becoming” his replacement.
Thank you for acknowledging the Hawkeyes. I love Clint for his humility, his humor, and his journey. He went from abused kid, to circus performer, to mercenary/criminal, to hero. He's just really interesting to me. And I love Kate Bishop mostly because of her relationship with Clint. And she's a badass who had to work for it and learns to roll with the punches. So thanks again for giving them another chance.
The Hawkeye show is definitely one of the best of the shows, buts let's face it: it's a really low bar. Just having Jeremy Renner in it made it better than She-Hulk.
That Linux comment is uncalled for. As a libertarian, and a programmer, I LOVE Linux for good reason!
I don't watch Disney so couldn't tell you anything about those movies... but this must've taken a lot.
So much respect to you for this. Love you, love your content!❤
Thank you so much!

I need to go back and rewatch your postmodern video because I completely forgot you mentioned Encanto. That's what I get for watching it while running around at work... I actually think it could work but I don't remember your reasoning. I wasn't impressed by Encanto either. It was clumsy execution, hasty resolution, and honestly I don't think the 'explanation' for what was going on actually makes sense.
I will 100% take a victory lap about you changing your mind on Hawkeye. I don't remember if I made a case for him at the time but he's my favorite for all the reasons you mention here. I also like Kate for the same reasons. I like the mentorship that she develops with Clint, the vastly different perspectives they have and how they play off each other. Which was a very pleasant surprise because I HATE her in the comics. Or at least the Matt Fraction run that the show drew from. She's an entitled rich brat. Kicks Clint out of the apartment building that he owns, I was seething.
I will however disagree that Sokka gets more development. Maybe a little bit, but I honestly don't think his arc is handled all that well and I feel Hawkeye's has more depth with his history as an assassin and then his journey to being a retired family man
Take the lap, because I was far too harsh on both Hawkeyes.
Yeah, Encanto was not good, but also didn’t fit the point I wanted, I think I just don’t like that movie and wanted any excuse to say it, lol. Probably Elemental would have been a better example. There is no actual conflict, not even the racial conflict makes sense, it’s just bland for no reason
Kudos to you, Greg. I like the idea of looking at what you've failed to do correctly from a creative standpoint at the end of the year. I may adapt it for my own work- though I don't have quite the audience to admit my mistakes to. And Frozen is overrated.
Thank you so much! The audience is fun, but the real important audience is ourselves. That sounded deep, lol.
I’m so glad I’m not alone on Frozen. I seriously thought I was in the tiny minority, but it seems there are more of us!
"chicken quesadilla and guacamole..."
Oh yeah, i f-ing hate that guy.
I'm with you on Frozen. I watched it during all the hype and in the end just shrugged. It was meh.
I feel like I want this segment to be called “L’s? OH! L’s!”
See, this is why I love the comment section. Your funny joke is now OUR funny joke, comrade.
In all seriousness, that might be the title for the 2024 version. Shit, that’s good.
@@gregowen2022 Go with my blessing. Dasvidaniya.
Legit I’m pretty sure is mostly so popular because the music was good. That’s why the second one didn’t do as well, the songs for the most part weren’t as good, though there were a couple hits
C.V. stands for Curiculum Vitae which roughly translates from Latin to Course of Life. so it's your life story.
Can u subtitle the lyrics? I don't mind the music choice but for some reason I can never make out what is being said in them. So when u use them for your point or joke unless I already know the song it doesn't land.
I’m genuinely serious when I say “why didn’t I ever think of that?”. It’s so obvious now!
Starting this week, I’m doing it, thanks!
How dare you know about my halfway chair
As an IT person, with some experience, I call the fires of vengeance upon thee! You can not convince me, that Windows is better than Linux, except for some front-end stuff and some gaming. For everything else The Penguin rules supreme, simply due to so many tools, that are open and tuned to Linux. plus, the architecture of the system makes it more convenient for coding and troubleshooting, plus backup system is loads more user-friendly and I won't even speak about infernal updates and BSODs, which were The Bane of my existence for over 18 month while I participated in Microsoft Driver Certification process.
Haha, it’s likely just too complex for those of that like Mr paperclip to help us. You could convince me if you said that by using Linux I didn’t have to worry about HAXM or Hyper V or whatever. I was trying to fiddle with apps using Xamarin a while back and it was horrible. How can a whole ass PC not emulate what the little rectangle in my pocket can do?!
Curriculum Vitae
Yes rise up frozen haters. Demand better villains, or at least one that is in more than like 10 minutes of the movie. And don't market to me a funny comedy movie about a silly snowman then give me a princess movie. The marketing totally lied to me and I'm still mad about it
I only use Linux on my computers, but I still like your video :) Hope you are doing well.

Was wondering if you were going to review American Fiction. I got to see it early and it was a good commentary on the pandering of the current entertainment industry as a whole and I would love your thoughts on it!
Honestly hadn’t heard of it, but I appreciate you putting it on my radar
