Nice Video. Clear voice. No music. And you gave us the relevant steps without extraneous information. Thumbs-Up! I now have confidence in doing this myself.
Great video! The only thing I would say is. Don't use an impact on the engine cover, it's wildly excessive and can cause the valve cover bolt to come out with the engine cover. It also transfers energy on the right stud directly to the valve cover bolt and could potentially strip it out.
I just did mine today. Start to finish was 4.5 hours. If I did it again, I could do it in 3 hours. Tips: remove alternator, some say you don't have to but it helps angles plus I couldn't get the water pump out with it in place and even swiveling it. Completely removed it. Remove the plastic shroud underneath, three 10 mm bolts and about five clips (push pull tabs). Buy a magnetic 10mm socket. The bolts are all 10 mm for the pump. Consider removing the motor mount and jacking up the Motor. I'd try it next time because fighting the frame rail was a total nightmare. Buy denso brand only. It's twice the price but ten times the quality.
Oh ok I just went into the descriptions. I see the water pump. Wow thanks for including everything you used in there too! Not just the part and torque specs, but the tools as well with links jic we want to get them as well! Subbed! 👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome instruction. Good lighting and camera angles as well. Question. How do you get the pump bolt off that is behind it and out of view? Also, how much coolant does it take? Would I measure this by watching the fill line on the reservoir?
I would add, taking off front right tire and peeling fender shroud back aids in access to lower bolts, otherwise bad words may be said. Also some after market pumps are different. Beware what you buy and make sure you have enough of the long bolts if pump is different. The extra bolts that came with the pump I bought were not used. Had to go to the fastener supply to buy 2 more long bolts.
One huge question that i cant find the answer to. On a 2006 Toyota Matrix base, what is the direction of the impeller? I see "exact fit" that are reverse and clockwise (standard) i got rid of the old broken water pump and since the new one is in place i have no heat and a cold lover rad. Hose. Thinking the new pump is pushing water the wrong way!
This is awesome! Thank you for the detailed video, including the torque specs. Also, what brand waterpump is that? Do they all come with dual type gaskets?
Only issue I just found out is if your replacing the water pump with an aftermarket one from a chain auto parts store you might have an issue with those 2 longer bolts. I need to know exactly what size those smaller bolts are so I can find two more where the two longer ones won't workout with my aftermarket water pump.
"now that we have all our bolts out of there",,,,,, POOF magic! I must have missed something? "now that we have all our bolts started",,,,,,, POOF magic again! I must have missed something else?

This is how a video should be. Good video angles, good lighting, clear voice, naming the sizes for each nut…you got it all!
This guy is excellent and has a good speaking voice. Clear, concise easy to follow directions and no awful background music!

Professional video! 👍
nice lighting and clear video angels. perfect explaining things.
Five stars.
Didn’t think oem had a gasket. Just the round rubber seal. Maybe aftermarket comes with gasket?
5:48 How you got all the other bolts out, that is the hard part that needs to be shown.

What’s the Aisin gasket part #? Mines didn’t come with it.
Cool! Just ordered my pump through your web site!
Dont use o-ring and gasket both. One or the other, o-ring is better. Use a little RTV on either
How did you unscrew the other screws of the water pump?

Why mine doesn’t have that paper gasket do I need that one or just the rubber seal ok?
Rubber usually better

Thanks alot for the video did the rad and waterpump and new serpentine belt thanks to your video!
Sorry you skip too many damn steps. I'm having an issue getting the bottom 2 screws off the water pump but u skipped how you got it
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
where's the bolt to compress the piston? I don't see what you're talking about
Is the water pump really torqued with inch pounds and not foot pounds?
Is it the same procedure for next generation with 1.8l engine?(2013)
Great video,,you are a great teacher, thanks

Nice showing. Thanks
What size are the bolts on the water pump itself? Also do you really need to drain your coolant to change the water pump?
Yes, that's what the first step of draining the radiator was all about
wow good video !!!! so cool!!!! good info
Thank you😊
Where is the thermostat housing?! I cannot find a single tutorial on where it is on a matrix and can't find it anywhere
Where can I get that paper gasket?
Thank you so much !!
80 inch what's the convert that into foot pounds
Why does jt keep looking like rightly loose?
Buena explicación
Muy bueno, solo lo q no entendí es por q dise q el refrigerante es 50-50
Éso lo dice por si usaste anticongelante sin diluir, si lo usas diluido ya no es necesario diluirlo
"once you flush the system, blow out any remaining fluid" wym blow it out??
Thanks..
