A BIG thank you, you are the only person doing a setup of the Mavic who actually mentions how to fit and where to fit the props. You got a sub for that, plus we didn't have to put up with that usual RUclips opening of "Wassup" It's nice to hear an actual normal human being.
Gee, it's almost 2 years since the Mavic was released, in fact the Mavic 2 has just been released.
I have to say, your almost having TOO MUCH FUN!, but like the man says: There's a whole lotta things that I've never done, but I ain't never had too much fun. Well I'm having fun right along with you, and it's so interesting to me, to be watching this in 2019, having now, my own Mavic Pro, and watching your reactions to it all. I have to say, I'm so impressed with your whole production on this. Extremely professional, but with a relaxed feel. Love the big screen you put the Go4 ap on. I was getting a little blah lately about drones, but after watching this, I'm all pumped up again and ready to go out and fly. Thanks for a great instructional video and keep up the good work. Marc T.
Thanks so much for the kind words. Happy to hear they're helpful, and we hope you'll subscribe!
James B and TVS Pro, I’m really enjoying these tutorials. Thanks very much indeed for making these videos.
you do such a great job, really enjoy watching your shows! mine is coming tomorrow, have the inspire1,liking the portability of the mavic
I'm getting ready to do it finally. Looking at so many videos, including professional videos regarding the usage of drones in their business. Yours are very informative, and even though I am planning on enrolling in a future class for August, I will watch as much as I can of your videos. Yes, I'll contribute. And I will look at your site for ordering information, because I am pretty positive I'm doing this. I'm an older gent, and I'd like to find something I can have fun doing, and perhaps make a little money. I know something about video, about flying (private pilot once), and I try to enjoy life. Thanks TVS Pro for your very informative videos. I realize this is an older one, but it is still relevant.
Fantastiskt video. Thanks from Finland.
Awesome! Glad to hear it was beneficial to you! Thanks for watching and welcome the subscribe!
TVS PRO. IKUT NYIMAK YAA🙏🤝👍

I didn't need convincing as to whether I would get the Mavic or not but this video bro has TOTALLY confirmed how damn excited I am about it.
As soon as I see a box like that at my post office, I'll be one happy camper, WOOHOO!!!
You are so genuinely excited about this drone. Really cool!
So am i!
Very thorough instructions.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Great video! You were right. I bought this because of it's portability and travel.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this in-depth unpacking and explanation of flight....
No problem! Glad it was helpful!
thanx for the vid mate! finally they have arrived in australia.
Thank you. Im new to the Mavic pro.
I from Brazil. Good job´s!
Again very nice vid! keep it up!!
It's best to keep the antenna's on the controller at a 90° angle in relation to the controller and not flip them backwards like you have here (at 12:15 for instance). This directs the radio-waves upwards, flipping them back or down directs the waves down too. Especially because this controller works on 2.4- to 2.483 GHz and these micro waves are very directional. Just a tip.
thank you...
Nice drone love it
thank you for really great easy explanation tutorial ! help me a lot
You're welcome! Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!

love your vidos
I have an Android Nexus 6P that uses the Micro USB Type Connector. This is the ONLY video I have seen that confirms the MAVIC Pro comes with it. I even contacted DJI via email and even they could not confirm it. THANK YOU
Awesomeness!
Thanks for this! I found this very helpful.
Fantastic!
Thanks I was swinging it the wrong way I’ll try again great video thanks
James, great video! I have a Mavic waiting for me when I get back home from my current deployment. Would love to fly with you and learn the ropes when I return. I'm just up the road in Ogden. Thanks Col D

Terrifice! Have fun and be safe! Thanks for watching, and we welcome the subscribe!
Great video and very detailed. You look slightly nervous [rightfully so] when its on hover over the table near you.
Great video...gonna subscribe. Thanks a bunch for all of the info.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
So many reviewers complained that "You can't fit everything included in the bundle into the provided carry bag." Thank you for showing that it is not true!
For sure!
very clear video! finally some grownup who is not riding a skateboard like a 15 yr old!
Thanks for watching!
Nice Video thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Trent!
The lens cover should not be left on as you said. Behind the lens is a fan that draw air in and over the heat sink and exhaust out the back of the drone, this helps keep the drone cool. If leaving it on as you say can cause over heating problems. Hopefully you can change your comments on this part of the video.
Clear and concise, good job. Thanks. Sure, I caught the thumb ring..... pointless for Billy Bob's comment below especially since it had nothing to do with the content of your video. Experienced droner with multiple Phantom models as well as an Autel. No rush in getting this Mavic in the air. Thanks again and Semper Fly!
Awesome to hear, and you're very welcome! Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Thanks for that fantastic video. can not wait to get my mavic pro. Thanks again and thanks youtube ;-0
You're welcome! We have them in stock: www.tvspecialists.com/?post_type=product&s=mavic
Awesome, thank you all.
No problem! Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
I've been flying the Mavic for 2 years now and in all that time I've calibrated the compass maybe 5 times. You only need to do that if the app asks for it really.
Your lens ever fog up?
Great video series. The most informative on the web IMHO. I received my Mavic Pro this Tuesday but have not yet powered it up since we had a major snow storm here in Montreal on the day I got it! I work in a school and was thinking of flying it in tripod mode around the gym, but I'm not sure about compass calibration indoors. Would calibration work indoors? I noticed that you calibrated it in your studio and it was fine so wondering if I could do that. Thanks for the very helpful vid collection :)
Absolutely. We do compass calibrations indoors and outdoors. Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Great and informative video. But, I have to disagree about keeping the plastic protector on if you race your drone. First, don't race your drone. It wasn't design for racing. Second, the plastic protector, when on, covers the air vents behind the camera, and you wants as much free flow air moving into the vents to cool your system down.
Hello Juan, when we produced this video 8-9 months ago DJI actually advised and advertised it as a drone that is capable of drone-like racing. Wasn't till month's later that DJI and users discovered that it does indeed block the air vent. However, you may want to try racing with it. I've gotten it up to 44mph and is super responsive! Lots of fun! Thanks for watching!
Great video, I learned several things and just subscribed. How do you get the app to record what you're doing, like what you had up on display on the tv?
Because we are using Apple devices, we can airplay to a Mac, and there are apps available that will record whatever is on the display of the Mac. Pretty simple. Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Do not fly with the gimbal plastic on it will over heat quickly DJI is warning against this the fan intake is behind the humble and camera and can't get airflow to the fan to cool down the innards... just a little tip to save people time sending there fried mavic to DJI or extra money for repairs. Good videos keep the good work up
You are correct Drone U. Thanks for watching!
Do you recommend calibrating the IMU with a new drone? Or only calibrating it when the conditions indicate yellow/red?
TVS PRO . VIDIO YG LAIN MANA APA GAK PERNAH BIKIN SOBATKU . KERENA SY CARI2 KOK GAK ADA 🙏🤝
I find the problem and I already fix it yesterday ,because even dealer dosent know when I ask him he tray to help by wrong way ...thank you ..but I advise any one buy drone from shop plz stay with them until they finish doing adjust for compass,,,for first time you have to do it other way will show signal for GPS loss ..good lake every body
Great Video! My "Fly More" DJI Mavic showed up a few days ago and I have been taking my time pulling it out of the box and getting it set up. I have one question. I have an old iPhone 6 that is sitting around without cellular service as it was replaced by my new iPhone 7. Am I able to use my old iPhone 6 as my full time video screen or will I need to use my iPhone 7 with active cellular service? I may be happy that I didn't trade my iPhone 6 in.
Absolutely! No cell service or wifi is ever needed to fly these. However, for firmware updates and syncing flight logs, etc you do need a connection of some sort; wifi or cell. But out and about? No prob!
A great unboxing and great review for beginners like me! My DJI MAVIC Pro will arrive tomorrow and that video was hopeful to me! I've got a question. At the moment I'm at Texas, but I'm living in Europe. And my question is, do I need to register my drone if I will stay at United States no more then a month? It's not a problem for me to register it, but do I need? Thanks TVS Pro for that video! So hopeful!
As of today, hobby/recreational RC operators no longer need to register with the FAA (According to a supreme court case that was finalized today 05/19/2017)
that`s why it only had prices for business flying. I could not find the $5. all the vids talk about. So no numbers or anything?
What do you use to stream what the Mavic sees to the monitor behind you ? I thought that their video feed was proprietary and can only be streamed using their gear or app ? Thanks ! Nice video btw.
Airplay to an Apple TV. And thanks! Glad it was helpful!
There is a little sticker yellow on top of the gimbal does pull out
Feel free to remove any stickers
Do you guys do repair, I crashed my DJi Phantom 3 just bought the Mavic I want to get the phantom 3 up and running again.
Hi!
I have watched your videos and they are very instructive thanks for them!
I have been trying to update my new Mavic pro for 3 times, but when I try to download the update it takes so long until the battery is completely discharged. I noticed that when the battery goes down after 50% to 30% it starts making noises and I try to turn off the control and the Macvi of the buttons, but it does not work to the point that I have to let it completely discharge the batteries .I think another reason which it takes a lot of time for the update is because when I turn on the Macvi and the control the internet signal in my house goes away for a while. Are you think that the Mavic has something to do with the Wi-fi in my house is gone?
I appreciate any help!
Fantastic to hear! Thanks for watching and we welcome your subscribe!
Thanks for doing the video. I have a question: Don't you need to do an IMU calibration because of all the bouncing around from shipping and it coming from China
Check the sensors when you first power it up to make sure, but wouldn't hurt. Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Great Video - I just received my mavic - looks great. I've decided to use an ipad mini 4 with cellular with the cntroller. This may be a dumb question but, using a mini do I need to sign up with a carrier for a second phone number? I have a 6s and I'd like not to have 2 phone numbers. Thx
No WiFi or cellular connection is needed or required for DJI flight operations. It is for firmware updates, but that's it. So if it were me, I'd save the money and just buy a standard iPad, not a cellular iPad. Thanks for watching, and we welcome the subscribe!
Hi how do you get the display on TV? I want this feature for my Fatsharks
You're not supposed to fly around with the gimbal cover on it, because it restricts air flow through the vents in the front of the mavic behind the gimbal.
I know this video is old, but I just picked up my first DJI Mavic and it’s amazing. My only question is, why does it come with 10 props instead of 12? There is only 2 Props pre installed on the Drone itself and then you have to take 2 of the full set of spares to make it complete. I don’t understand this?
I just got mine and had the same question. Like one full set for the mavic and a half set for spares....should have included another bag with 2 more sets of props
Hi James.
I really enjoy learning from your videos, many thanks.!!!!
I have a question?
How can I get my Mavic Pro to fly in a NO-Fly Zone area? I live in Washington DC and flying here is prohibited. Sometimes I can drive an hour from my home to practice, but in my house I have a great area to practice, so but my Drone does not take off because it is in Zone of NO-Fly.
I know I have to disable stereo vision sensor and enable Multiple flight modes.
What else should I know?
I appreciate any advice!
Sorry, you'll need to take that up with the President of the US. No hope for you really if you live in DC.
I live in Nevada, do you know if we are going to have to register this drone to fly at all? Thanks!
Yes, whether you are a "hobbyist" or a "commercial" operator, both require registration before the first flight. Checkout knowbeforeyoufly.org for further details.
I hate to ask this, but... There are three stickers on the Mavic when you unbox the drone. Two are on the legs and it is obvious the you remove them. the third is on top of the gimbal. Is it safe to remove that too
Yes, you can remove any of those stickers.
RPM . MAAF APA GAK PERNAH . NGUNGGAH VIDIO LAGI YG BARU 🙏🤝
i am planning a trip to africa in august , will the airliane have any issues with the pro's batterys?
They shouldn't as they are less than 5000mAh and less than 100wh
would you mind sharing box dimensions and net weight of the standard package? Awesome video btw..
The box weighs 4.3lbs, and dimensions are 9.8 x 9.7 x 4.5".
Di I have to go to a paddock to calibrate as it keeps saying mag interfierance
write a book on the Mavic pro please
Do you have to register this? I tried downloading Go4 an hour ago and it is still downloading to my Iphone X
Great Video. i am unsure & confused if I should download DJI Assistant 2 App for Apple phone. Not sure what the purpose is and need. I have Apple Phone 6 & I Pad , and have Asmus Laptop. What is your opinion?
I prefer using apple products with DJI systems. The 6 and iPad (depending on it's generation) should work great; just ask yourself do you want little screen or big screen. And the Assistant 2 software is for a laptop, and the DJI Assistant app is for Ronin, RoninM, and RoninMX. You want the DJI Go 4 app on your iphone or ipad to use with Mavic, Phantom 4, Inspire, or Spark. Thanks for watching!
Thanks. Why does the manual for DJI state to download the DJI Assistant App. It is confusing!
What do you mean, " need a wifi connection to update"? Please explain further.
My i-phone has a wifi, Is this what is needed?
or
Do I need a wifi connection from a computer to the internet. Called a ""HOTSPOT"" at a place like STARBUCK's. They offer wifi connections.
.
This part up the s/u is not understood.
.
Why can't you guys be in Minnesota as well? I'd love to come talk to you guys about products.
LOL Thanks for the compliment! Hit us up for sure if you're in town. We've been at the same location for over 60 years.
Will the i-phone provide the wifi connection needed to provide an update
or
do I need a computer wifi connections to sign on for updates..
This is not explained clearly.
You can use a cellular connection to perform firmware updates, but it will most likely be much slower than if you're connected to WiFi
I'm thinking of buying a DJI Mavic, but I'm a little confused. Do you have to attach a mobile phone or tablet to fly it? I have a Windows phone, and it's virtually impossible to get apps for it
For Mavic, most use a phone, but you can use a tablet. DJI systems are only compatible with iOS and Android.
You do not need to use a phone
I have an iPhone X which I connect to the controller and then push the on/off button. Nothing happen. I downloaded the DJI4Go and DJI assistant. Familiar with both apps but wanted to review in case I was missing something. Nope! Everything seems to be ok as far as apps are concerned. Now, this Mavic Pro came straight out of the box, watched your video (good info) and got stuck on attaching the phone to the controller or should i say the phone works fine but the controller never turned on (black screen). Is there something more that needs to be done? Your thoughts? Thanks!
The process for turning on the controller is the same as the Mavic itself. Press release, then press and hold. Same to turn it off.
I just bought my mavic pro about a month ago
I noticed in the video mode I only have the option when shooting 4K of 24 fps
I am not shown the 30 fps option Why?
Not sure, it should. We recommend you contact the dealer from whom you purchased your system for in depth trouble shooting. Thanks for watching and we welcome your subscribe!
Hi! What are dimensions and weight of this package?
You said THE BATTERY CHARGER CHARGES YOUR SMART DEVICE WITH THE CABLE..
Do you know at what rate and what voltage.. because if it's a low voltage kind of useless because it will take forever to charge your phone...
so when you have the phone updating it will also update the drone itself?
When doing the update through the app it will update the Mavic and the Mavic radio. Thanks for watching!
Does any one know what is QR scanning code is? I am getting this question to set up my drone, I am trying to enter the hand control scanning labels but it just rejects every time I try it. Any suggestions please?
The QR codes are mostly for serial number scanning for the manufacturer. Really nothing that you will need to worry about.
hello dear , I bought new mavic pro , I loss signal in GPS when fly and written no image ,than show return to home ,, please could you advise
Sorry, too difficult to troubleshoot through the comment system of RUclips. For in depth training and troubleshooting, please contact the source/dealer from whom you purchased your system. Thank you for watching, and we welcome your subscribe!
my control have some issues i cant get connect with the drone after i do the update can you tell me how i can make the link with the drone i try to do the way went i get and i only used 2 times after update was bad the control only say connect it"s all
Hopefully the dealer/source from whom you purchased can offer some support for this, but most likely your radio and Mavic are on different firmwares. Turn on the radio connected with a smart device, but don't turn on Mavic. Give it a few minutes in the home screen and I'd be willing to bet it'll say there's a firmware. Update, turn off, turn back on with Mavic and should work. Good luck, and thanks for watching!
Your new video says is not available in Australia. Could you please doble check as I think it is a very interesting for us here down under.
The one titled DJI mavic pro full instructions.
Thank you so much
On my feed, it says that video costs $1.99 to view. And I live in the states (and not very far away from where TV Specialists is located.)
Yes, it is paid content this time around.
Hi Alex,
I apologize for the inconvenience. It should now be available to you.
hI, I'm also interested about the video DJI Mavic Pro full instructions, but it's not available in my country (Greece). Do you think could be available?
Asterios, we have made it available in Greece. Try it now. Thank you.
Hi,
you're videos are great! just a quick question does it work well with an iphone 5s?
thanks
Haven't ever tried. DJI's site will have a list of compatible devices. I had no problems with my old 5s with a P4, I1, and P3 Pro. Thanks for watching, and we welcome the subscribe!
you guys actually sell these, and you can't answer a a simple question like this to a potential costumer?...... hmmm!
Terribly sorry! DJI says it is, but only way to be certain would be to test it. If I had an iPhone 5s at my disposal, even with a friend or employee, would be happy to test it out for you.
www.dji.com/mavic/info#downloads
"iOS Version v4.1.3.
Requires iOS 9.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone 5s, iPhone SE, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Air, iPad Air Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad Air 2, iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 3 Wi-Fi + Cellular, iPad mini 4 and iPad mini 4 Wi-Fi + Cellular. This app is optimized for iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus."
Nope most people are not using iOS devices. Something like 88% of the market share worldwide now is Android. And 77% in America.
;)
Yea all the poor losers who cant afford a 1000 dollar drone
;)
Questions my lens foggy when i go outside. Is there anything I can do for that?
Try foccusing it in the app, I also thought it darn broke. It was all blur, Just had to focus
Guys, please let me know what app you are using to control the Mavic? I know there is the DJI Go and the DJI Go 4 but I've heard ppl complaining about both. I just got my combo set yesterday and I'm ready to fly, this is my second DJI quad.....the first one is a Vision 2 +. Also as you guys know, they ship an extra full set of blades (4) with the quad but their are only two pairs attached to the Mavic......so you don't actually get a full replacement set all you get is one extra pair.....WTF?
Yes, when we created this video the DJI Go 4 app had not been released. That is the recommended app to use, but will still look very similar. In the $999 Mavic, yes, it comes with just 1 pair as a spare, and the $1299 comes with another 2 pair. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the swift response, now can you enlighten me about the NFZ which no one seems to talk about in these videos (which I'm sure would adversely impact sales). I live about 15 miles from the nation's capital of Washington D.C. and it seems that I am stuck in some silly @$$ 30 mile radius NFZ which means my "bird" will not take off.
knowbeforeyoufly.org is a great resource for airspace availability. And yes, if you live in D.C. flying is very restricted there, and the system will not let you fly.
