Mate, watched three of your videos and best Mavic tutorials I've watched to date. From across the pond, on this little island we call Britain, we thank you...
Great video! Super informative, especially to laymans like myself! A bit on the long side but hey, you covered a lot of modes with examples so it's still great!
Hello James, great work with your instructional videos, they are very informative. It is a welcome addition that you include regulatory information found in FAA, sUAS Part 107. Please allow me to reciprocate your efforts; please note that the FAA mandates that "No person may act as a remote pilot or VO for more than one unmanned aircraft operation at one time." We are in this together, helping one another with FAA compliance adds relevance and promotes competent and safe sUAS piloting.
You are absolutely correct. Where we were is a remote test site for unmanned aircraft. We would never perform any UAS operation that contradicts regulations or the safety of others. With permission from the only other individual that dared to be out there in the bitter cold that day, we performed that test. Also, my camera man was in possession of the additional radio and held while we swapped radios for the other to perform autonomously. We applaud you and your being stalwart to drone law and safety! Thanks for watching and welcome the subscribe!
Mike, we sincerely apologize you feel this way. We always keep our systems to the latest firmware, and if we were near any airport it wouldn't allow us to fly, or you would also see the Class B warning error messages on our screen. The location is a test site and public RC port sanctioned by the FAA with approvals up to 400 ft. I'm also an instrument rated private pilot of 15 years, an 333 Exemption holder, and an AMA member. If we violated any laws, why would we risk posting videos? Or better yet, we simply could avoid the topic and simply delete these types of comments and questions. We again apologize if you have not benefited from our instruction. We are advocates of the law and our purpose for these videos is to educate and inform. We thank you for your concern as we are all in this together. Thanks for watching!
Yes, there is. An RC fixed wing. There was one other individual out there that day. We apologize for the misunderstanding. We did mention "RC Port" at the beginning of that scene, and we just assumed most would know it's not an actual airport when we mention the size of "20' x 600" as most airfields for full scale are usually many thousands of miles long and often times over a 100 ft in width. Thank you again for your concern, and we will most definitely be more clear in the future. Good luck and happy flying!
This weekend will be using those intelligent flight modes. I think its safe to say I will probably be having more fun than I have had in a long time with my clothes on!
Sounds great! Just be sure that there are two of you there performing this test, as Part 107 requires that a pilot may only operate one drone at a time.
Doxie, please read carefully. Yes, there are new rules coming. However you currently still need to register, regardless of Hobby or Commercial use: "The new rule, which takes effect in late August, offers safety regulations for unmanned aircraft drones weighing less than 55 pounds that are conducting non-hobbyist operations." Also, please keep in mind that this particular video of ours was produced in Februrary, so things can continue to change after this video's production. Thanks for watching!
Andy, we are well aware of the Taylor vs FAA case. Please remember that videos posted in the past, either from us or any other video ever posted on RUclips, unfortunately isn't able to keep up with current events. We thank you for your helping us stay on track, and thank you for watching. Please remember that any of our content may at any moment be outdated.
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother for the last couple of days :)
I appreciate the comparison of the two drones using active track. However, I would like to know how the inspire 2 active track would compare to the Mavic 3 active track.
Great stuff on the Mavic and I've subscribed! Here's my comment...I've been scouring the universe for comprehensive info / tutorials on the GO 4 software. I've been in touch with DJI about a manual and they keep referring me to the Mavic Pro manual v1.2 which has little info about the software. Would you pleeeeeze consider doing an in-depth tutorial on the GO4?? I hate having to learn a fairly complex system by trial and error. Keep up the good work!
me here is another test you could try, so you put mavic in active track, put a rc air plane on the runway and take off and see it mavic will actually take off and follow
That is a good test! Thanks for the suggestion! Our guess though, is that it would be very similar in this test...meaning, it likes larger objects to track.
I wanted to ask about Mavic's remote control if there's a way to lock the remote control while using the flight mode. For instance, I'm in profile mode and I want to ride a bicycle and put the remote control in the backpack making sure no buttons will be pressed accidentally. I can't find this information. It's not convenient to hold the remote control in your hand and ride a bicycle. I'm planning to do it only in open spaces so don't really need to be concerned about controlling the Mavic.
ATTI stands for Attitude. This means it will maintain altitude, but not attitude. Meaning, it does not have a GPS signal so it will drift and not lock position horizontally, but still maintains its altitude (because the barometer is still working). Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
On the phantom 4, you said you have a tablet that is 2x's times brighter than normal, are those compatible with the phantom 3 standard? if so where can one buy one? Thank you sir, great video i subscribed as well!
Hello Rob, thanks for watching and we welcome your subscribe! And yes, the Phantom 4 Pro+ comes with its own monitor. We have them in stock, ready to ship, free standard shipping in the contiguous US: www.tvspecialists.com/product/dji-phantom-4-pro-2/
In your opinion is the added brightness of the Pro+ screen more important then added screen size of the iPad mini? Thx. fyi... U guys are providing the best instruction vids on RUclips, period!
Sir i have inspire 2 and i want to fly it in "Draw" mode. But in my DJI app i dont have this mode available. Please suggest some technique to fix it thanks in advance.
While in active track you will have complete control of its altitude. Within DJI's Go app, it does not allow the ability for it to autonomously descend or ascend during active track.
how are you??? Thanks for the videos are very good. I bought the MAvic 10 days ago and I am making the first experiences. I have problems that I can not connect the Tablet to the controller (a Nexus 7 of 2 Gb Ram), it does not "bind" to the control, runs the program but does not connect. I have NO problems with my Samsung S7. I disconnect the phone and connect the tablet, the program runs but says NOT CONNECTED Could you help me?
We apologize, unfortunately it's too difficult to do in depth troubleshooting through the comment system of RUclips. We recommend you contact the dealer/source from whom you purchased your system. Thanks for watching!
Hello Sir! I am Naseem Ahmad from Pakistan . I have DJI Inspire 2 which i will be using to map landslides here in Pakistan for my research. I want to ask . How could i automate the Inspire 2 to fly it over a landslide on the mountain to feed its path and it take all the images automatically. Moreover i want to ask which one is the best mode to map landslide e.g. either normal , tripod, or terrain mode. Please suggest me any mode and also a relevant video by which i can automate the uav to capture images automatically over an area. Thank you so much in advance
Hi Naseem, thanks for watching! For what you're wanting to do the DJI app will be very limited. You could fly the route and set waypoints and then it'll fly the route automatically. But you'd still have to take the photographs yourself. There's no way to set points of where/when you'd like it to take pictures. You may want to look into 3rd party apps such as Drone Deploy, or Autopilot from Flight Logic. The flight modes will be much more advanced and capable.
You would think, but we sell a bunch of those hoods, and after nearly 6 months of those being available....not a word. I've never experienced any difference either. Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
You are correct. Please keep in mind that we can't backdate an uploaded video. In Feb of 2017, when this video was posted, it was required to register for either hobby or commercial use. The updated laws of only registering for commercial applications didn't come out until Aug of 2017. Thanks for watching!
You are correct. But please remember this video was posted in February. The updated law of only registering commercial applications didn't come until August.
Mate, watched three of your videos and best Mavic tutorials I've watched to date. From across the pond, on this little island we call Britain, we thank you...
Awesome to hear! Thank you for watching, and we welcome your subscribe!
Awesome! You are the only one explaining the modes!! Really nice
Thank you! We appreciate it, and glad it was beneficial for you! Thanks for watching and please subscribe!
Thanks for answering my questions about the Inspire 2 intelligent flight modes.
Great video! Super informative, especially to laymans like myself! A bit on the long side but hey, you covered a lot of modes with examples so it's still great!
Terrific news! Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Great video....! you guys explained it well on each fly mode. Gives me a good understanding thanks.
Great! Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Great video training...loved the Terrain Follow flight mode #subscribed ...as always Stay Creative James
You're welcome, and thanks for watching!
Drone police in full force . Great video I've tracked my p4 before it's pretty easy an if it loses track it stops
Great to hear you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!

Thank you for taking the time to make these video's. Great information.
You're very welcome! Thank you for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Great video - learned alot and will help me get started with my new Mavic!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
Very cool video! I'm going to try getting both drones out at the same time this spring and try some of those modes! thanks!
Sounds great! Just be sure that there are two of you there performing this test, as Part 107 requires that a pilot may only operate one drone at a time.
Good stuff and interesting test of active track quad on quad. Great info in your videos and good humor too.
We appreciate that! Thanks, and thanks for watching! We welcome the subscribe!
As of June 2017, you don't currently need to register your quadcopter. Things are in flux, check current regs.
Doxie, please read carefully. Yes, there are new rules coming. No. Any registration done through the DJI Go app is strictly for DJI use; completely separate from FAA law/registration.
TVS Pro Look up Taylor vs. FAA before you pretend to know about the legalities.
Andy, we are well aware of the Taylor vs FAA case. Nice Video. But you forgot to add that in the ActiveTrack-Spotlight Mode you get a mix of Tracking a subject and Course Lock.
Dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. I've been binge watching with my brother for the last couple of days :)
@Waylon Josiah yea, have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
I appreciate the comparison of the two drones using active track. However, I would like to know how the inspire 2 active track would compare to the Mavic 3 active track.
I have to agree with silent knight!! super vid!
Thanks! Thanks for watching, and we welcome your subscribe!

Excelent ! ty :)
I think the active track would work better if the contrast of the item being tracked is high. Like having a bright color on the target.
Agreed!

Also what is 'YAWING'? You've mentioned that a few times and I'm not clear what that means.
Thank you for all the valuable information. Does the Phantom 4 monitor work with the Mavic ?
The monitor can't be removed from the radio, and the P4 radio and Mavic radio don't operate on different channels within the 2.4G frequency.
Like your videos. What is the ATTI mode in the Mavic?

Yup ;)
I live in Kuwait but i can't order the mavic from the amazon

Can you please tell me where I can purchase a hood like the one you were showing for the Mavic? Thank you.
For sure! There is a link to our website at the end of the video. We currently have it in stock.
i have the draw feather on my phantom 4
How about the Inspire 2 intelligent flight modes? Can you please make a video for that. Thanks-Phil DeVore
All flight modes discussed in this video pertain to the Phantom 4, Mavic, and Inspire 2 series.
TVS Pro Thanks again
what tablets would you recommend using, mine just can't keep up with the cam.
I've always utilized iOS devices. I know the iPhone 4 can't keep up, but I had no problems with my older 5S. Currently I use iPhone 7 and iPad Mini 4.
Has anyone reported signal issues with the hood attached? Seems to go against all logic to cover the antennas.
You would think, but we sell a bunch of those hoods, and after nearly 6 months of those being available....not a word. I've never experienced any difference either. Thanks for watching and we welcome the subscribe!
You're welcome. Thanks for the reply and for the helpful videos.
Will it track RC planes?
I'm sure it would if it was going slow enough without sharp/abrupt agile movements.
does the Mavic have the 'DRAW' mode?
Sorry, the Draw function is only featured in the Phantom 4 Pro/Pro+
I️ thought you only have to register if your flying commercially?. I️.e. being paid for the flight
The updated law of only registering commercial applications didn't come until August.
do you need a permit to fly in nyc? asking for a friend
No clue, never flown in NYC. Totally depends on where it is you're flying. Check with local laws.
