So this is where the DaVinci action originates from... been looking for this for over a week, so glad I found it!
Actually this has nothing to do with the DaVinci action which I have never seen. This is my own idea that I came up with while playing around with standard pencil drawing techniques.
@@HTGGeorge , well, I could be mistaking, but I do believe that the technique you so kindly share in this video are greatly used in the DaVinci action. You should check it out.
Though I can appreciate these actions that people are creating and selling online, I'd rather figure out how they do it and try to recreate it myself... I am now on the hunt for figuring out how to get these crossed lines created that make images appear to be technical sketches.

Neet thing is you do not really know how it will turn out till you get finished. You get the idea in your head and just start working at it till it is something you are satisfied with. Much room for creativity and effect with this technique

Hi Rich, I was never really completely satisfied with the standard technique everyone shows here on RUclips on how to make a sketch look. It works but it doesn't have enough adjustments for my liking. So I played around a bit and came up with this new technique. Since this is based on Filters it is very adjustable. You can take this basic technique and do a lot of variations on it. This one video is a good example if you compare this to the same technique I demonstrated in PSE. This time I left the color in on the second filtered layer and it gives a different outcome. I left all of the filter settings the same but those are easily adjusted as well. I will love to see what other people do with this new trick.

I send out 8X4 Christmas card with a nice picture theme on the gloss side and something that is great on the mat side like a pencil drawing or B&W or other. I am going to use this technique on inside this year with some kind of Santa/Coke Cola throwback. This will look great! The front has a Bokeh Christmas lights with Santas arm holding a single red/burgundy ornament, refection of mom and I kissing and a missile toe hanging above it. Some saying about christmas and love above it.

You're welcome. This is one of my personal favorite techniques that I have come up with. Reminds me a lot of the good old days when I used to do this type of thing the hard way, with charcol and pastels. It is real hard to make a computer photo manipulation look like it was actually created by hand, I think I came close with this one.
