Famine, genocide, violence and witnessed rape. Andrei had experienced nearly everything a person could, and then went on to murder over 50 people.

Since discovering your podcasts on Google, I've become hooked and listened to every single release you put out. I like that you give more information than most are game to do, even when it makes you uncomfortable. I enjoy your voice and also the fact that your name is a merge of my oldest daughter and my mothers names, an added bonus of course.

Obviously what Chikatilo did was reprehensible, but I actually have some sympathy for him. So many things went wrong for him during his childhood, that if reversed, maybe he has a more normal life. For example... if he gets stuck living with his father, instead of his mother... he may have had an easier time. Sometimes kids just don't get a fair shake... including Andrei's victims. Everyone is a victim in this story... so sad.

Jessaroo You hit the nail on the head and that is exactly why I make these podcasts. I want you to know the full story so that we can, at the very least, get a more accurate picture. Thanks for listening.

This dude was sick and evil smh. It's possible that because of what he went through it made him who he is. He was commiting the murders during the war so, they weren't paying attention at first. The police officers are at fault too, just like with most serial killers with a high body count, they were either suspects, or caught, but let go on technicalities. If the schools had turned him in they could have saved lives as well.

Idk about the nazi soldiers violating women, it wouldn't surprise me but I've seen how they acted in different occupations and they wouldn't act that way in places like Norway and France. Dreadful time, Americans violated french women when they went there, all sides were just wrong, awful people.

Nazi soldiers did have Slavic prostitutes, which imo is just as bad.

I think, if the Nazis violated women in the Sowjet countries exclusively, then due to the indoctrinated hatred for the "communist archenemy", if you want.
