To those of you who ain't played Ace Combat before and will play this, have fun in the skies alongside a great cast of characters. This game is half a decade old now, but is still amazing and worth playing. To those who like me only played Assault Horizon Legacy on the 3DS before this, same universe but you arent Phoenix this time, this game takes place around two decades later with many wars taking place between the events of AHL and 7. Oh and to those who played AHL's extra missions....be ready for a familiar foe's "child". Iykyk when you play it.
I also played the 3DS one and then gave Ace Combat 6 a try but didn't like the difference in controls. Does anyone know if know if Ace Combat 7 allows you to move the plane "Star Fox" style, where the direction you move the stick is where the plane will end up facing? Or is it more like 6 where moving left and right tilts the plane 90 degrees instead? Also, the final extra mission on 3DS where it was you vs 4 laser drone planes was unreal.
Even if you aren't into planes or dogfighting, check this game out. The story is absurd, the OST is outstanding, and the mission design is very diverse and interesting. It's a shockingly good game.

Their mission structures often don't revolve to just "blow up everything" as there is a puzzle structure in missions, you have true freedom on how you want to tackle mission objectives. Ace Combat is a game where listening to the mission briefing is actually important in order to not fail the mission. And oh, there's not many checkpoints and missions often go to 30 minutes.
Played this game for the first time a month ago. New to the series and wasn't expecting much....my god I'm so excited to play it again. This game made me such a huge fan of the series.

Nintendo always knew about its marketed audience. It's Namco that's the issue. Most no one in that company wants to port games to Switch, and those that do end up making shoddy ports because Namco left them out to dry (ie, no funds, resources, support). Even the producer of this game commented on it being a very attractive platform, but Namco was screwing them out of a potential Switch port back at launch. It's a miracle that it's getting a Nintendo port at all
NO WAY I was under the impression that the Switch could never handle this game in particular. If they managed to actually get it working well on Switch…Then we have a peak game coming in July.
Reminder that CPPR and Saber Interactive somehow managed to cram entire of The Witcher 3 into switch. It's doable but you'll need some belkan witchcraft to be able to pull it off. (and a lot of ghrapical downgrade)

This game had one of the most epic and emotional final arcs IN GAMEPLAY I ever experienced in a game. You literally feel like you are the only one who can change the course of a war and save the world from absolute chaos and destruction, and not because you are some kind of chosen one or have some kind of superpower but more like you are the only one the ability and skills as a PILOT to really make a difference in this war and go face to face with the single most skillful pilot in history. This is a game where you REALLY see a difference and have a great sense of growth as a PLAYER and as a pilot in the way you control your aircraft and generally how you play the game compared to when you start the game getting used to the controls and feel of the mechanics. Please make yourself a favor and play this game that made me fall in love with this series.
What a god tier game AC7 was. The older games are good too of course, but whata surprise to see 7 come to Switch. I wonder how the framerates will be though. I may check this out just for another excuse to replay it. Also, Ace Combat has some of the best music out of any game, that's how incredible it is. If I recommend anything, look up the OST for the series, it's what sold me years ago.
AC7 was a great game in it's own right, but it's more like a cautious comeback in terms of everything - story is mediocre, gameplay is one step forward and three step backwards compared to previous parts, but the presentation and online multiplayer is fine. They've proved the point and let us scratch an itch for a fast paced aerial combat, but they should definitely put more effort and/or creativity in the next installment to keep it up.
Got this game a few days after it released on PlayStation. The emotions it makes you feel.. they are amazing. To this day, even the trailer still makes me smile. To Skies Unknown…
Engaging gameplay and beautiful soundtrack as usual for Ace Combat. Daredevil gave me goosebumps because of how well it fit with the action on screen. Ace Combat is always a mix of love/hate to me, but in a good way because they put you in tricky scenarios where you're flying under, over or in the middle of hard to maneuver areas for extended periods of time where it has me going "I hate this, but it's awesome." That said, while I love what they do with the gameplay, if it wasn't for the music I'm not sure I'd be as into it. Unfortunately, I always feel like it's the fans that take note of it and when it comes time for things like awards, there's no mention.
This is a must have. I still play this game on Xbox. Hopefully a lot of Nintendo players will do the multiplayer. I am a hunter of Russian birds😂😂😂😂😂😂 stealth birds also…. I’ll be waiting for you in the sky. GO DANCE WITH THE ANGELS!
From a distance I always thought Ace Combat games were simply some generic fighter pilot sim, but as soon as I heard the soundtracks from this series, I haven't been able to stop listening. This is a great reminder that AC7 is in my backlog and I need to get to it!
To me, Ace Combat is like the Metal Gear of flight sims. Not in the sense of gameplay, but in the sense of insanely ambitious stories that never cease to amaze me

Just finished the campaign on PC, and oh boy what a great game! Pretty challenging on higher difficulties too. Very nice that now we have Ace Combat in modern portable systems too!

I’ve never been so excited about a game I’ve owned for 5 years already on PlayStation!! Whoever hasn’t played Ace Combat you are in for a thrill! Read up on the back story though so it makes sense.
To whoever plays on the Switch and has not tried this on any other platform: Play this. It might be kind of cheesy and ridiculous, but man, what a ride. WHAT. A. RIDE. If you played Assault Horizon Legacy on the 3DS, this is all that and much, much better. Enjoy it. Oh, and the soundtrack. My goodness... blew me away. I'll debate whether to get this as well, although I already own a physical copy on the PS4 and have it on Steam as well. Playing it on the go would be amazing.
Not gonna happen - products containing licensed properties has a hard times being re-released, because there should either be really big demand just to cover the licensing, not to mention to pay for development and make a profit, or all the planes to be replaced with a fictional ones, which is s big change and will most likely decrease the game's estimated sales even lower.

Just finished the campaign on PC, and oh boy what a great game! Pretty challenging on higher difficulties too. Very nice that now we have Ace Combat in modern portable systems too!

If you played Assault Horizon Legacy on the 3DS, this is all that and much, much better. Enjoy it.

I'll debate whether to get this as well, although I already own a physical copy on the PS4 and have it on Steam as well. Playing it on the go would be amazing.

Not gonna happen - products containing licensed properties has a hard times being re-released, because there should either be really big demand just to cover the licensing, not to mention to pay for development and make a profit, or all the planes to be replaced with a fictional ones, which is s big change and will most likely decrease the game's estimated sales even lower.
