This. Good info. Fun locales. Family friendly. And did I say good info? :) Plus if you've been a long time viewer, it's kind of funny to watch the kids grow up.
It is amazing the weather at the South Point! Raining like crazy and you can see the clouds hovering everywhere. But, in those 12 miles, the winds pick up going from the windward side to the leeward side and just watching the clouds stay at bay by the winds is so cool. 12 miles and the weather is completely different.
Oh, I wish we could go back. The Green Sands Beach is worth the walk, but do not swim there as there are rip tides and strong currents. Great to know about Ama’s Kitchen Food Truck. Mahalo nui.
I wish I would have found you're channel before I went to the big island last month for the first time. Wow did we miss alot. Thanks for you're videos. I will be watching everyone of them before my next trip.
Thanks for the video! We will be back on the BI in October for our 7th or 8th time and can't wait. We love it so much. I'm sure you've done it but one rainy day we did the Red Road and had the best time. Thanks again!
We haven't explored Puna much! The Red Road sounds very pretty. Thanks for sharing! Enjoy your trip in October. We have a lot of BI videos coming out this winter and spring. We already booked our next trip back!
Punalu'u, yes!! We stopped there as part of the Grand Circle Island Tour a couple years ago. LOVE the malasadas!! We need malasada vendors on the Mainland now! 😜 Black Sand Beach was wonderful too with all the turtles hanging out ❣
Thank you for another great video on my favorite Hawaiian island! It’s great to see more budget-friendly places to stay. Don’t know if you agree but I’ve found that the Big Island is less expensive- especially if you’re willing to forgo the oceanfront resorts or vacation rentals with all the fancy amenities. You’ll still have a great vacation-it’s Hawaii after all!
We live in the South Point area, Discovery Harbour, and love it! I am always looking at others travel tips for new things we have never seen or explored as there is so much to do down here. The weather is usually phenomenal with a light rain but most days sunny and temps ranging in the low 80’s year round.
The Yurt looks like fun, right?! We enjoyed our stay (thanks for hosting us Jonathan!), it is convenient to get to the National Park, and it is a great price. Learn more here: theqult.com/ Thanks for watching and have a great trip to Hawai'i!
I just got back from spending time on Oahu and Kauai- your videos made me actually go back to Oahu to go slvisit Pearl Harbor again. I wound up spending the whole day visiting the Arizona Memorial, the Bowfin, the Missouri, and the air museum of the Pacific. I also loved your suggestions for Kauai, it had been a number of years since I was there- so long ago that sugar plantations were still in operation the last time I was there. Thank you!!
Thanks for your videos. I’m learning lots. We’ve been to Big Island many times but have not yet gone to south point or green sand beach. We are seniors so not going to hike to green sand beach nor does standing in a truck to get there appeal to us. However, it would be great to just see the beach. Are you able to look down at the beach from the parking lot (something accessible)?
Thanks for watching! I'm afraid you have to hike or drive to the beach to get a view of it. It isn't viewable from the parking lot or an observation point. You can walk the actual south point to see the fishing and the lava caves.
We recommend the Outrigger Kona. The hotel is in better condition and Outrigger has been investing in the property. Plus, it is a walk away from manta ray night snorkeling.
Our family has been to Hawaii 3 times using your guides to help us plan for new islands. Invaluable!
Wow, thanks for trusting us with your Hawaii trips!
You guys have a great channel! Thank you for sharing all the Hawaii goodness for those far away
Mahalo Ron! Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoy the Hawaii adventures.

Agreed! I wouldn't swim at south point or the green sand beach. There are deaths every year at south point from swimmers and cliff jumpers.

I'm glad you found us now! Enjoy the videos for your next trip! Our website is a great resource too. Mahalo!

I'm glad you could stop along this area! Most drive by on their way to Volcanoes National Park. The turtles are always there chilling on the beach!
Love those malasadas and they are gentle on my tummy. Took 4 to eat for the day until my 14 hours of flying back to Boston. 🤓

Thanks for the comment Susan and for sharing! You live in a beautiful and relaxing spot. There are a lot of farm tours that we will be back to do!
Just came back from Kauai.... your content really made our trip amazing! Just wanted to say thanks!!!!
Wow! thanks for sharing! Kauai is a wonderful place. We're glad you had a good trip.

It is a nice area and full of lovely people. Congrats on the move to Fern Forest!

Headed there in March can’t wait
Have a great trip to the Big Island!
Peaberry!
Peaberry: get fancy with the best of Kona coffee.
@TheHawaiiVacationGuide it is quite good. My hot take on Big Island coffee: I like Hamakua coast coffee better than Kona. 😬
Very informative. Great adventures.
Thanks so much Joe!

@@TheHawaiiVacationGuideThank you.
Hawaiian Police have NO QUOTAS! Against the law.... But there are numerous speeders requiring policing. 🤙
thanks for sharing! It is an easy place to get a ticket due to the changing speed limits in the towns.
Going in April, been debating whether to go with Royal Kona or Outrigger Kona! Tough choice any recommendations??
We recommend the Outrigger Kona. The hotel is in better condition and Outrigger has been investing in the property. Plus, it is a walk away from manta ray night snorkeling.
Yahoo
What kind of sandals is Erica wearing? Brand ?
She enjoys Teva sandals for traveling in Hawaii. Good for walking and getting wet.
