Replacing a bail spring on the daiwa regal s2000i. Find the schematic on your reel for the correct part replacements. Your reel may look different, but all spinning reels are basically the same. This reel is an anti-backlash system, it is 14 years old and still going strong! Check out my other fishing videos by proanglersteve!

*Great reel, **enjoyable.fishing** recommend very smooth and I love that you can change from left hand to right hand so easily. Gave it a 4 on durability because I haven’t had it long enough to rate it. Doing good so far.*

Thanks Steve. You inspired me to go back and look at my Shakespeare Omni 2004.040 left sitting. I found a small variation. The long end of the spring went to the small hole in the bail arm first and with the arm screwed back in place and then I could press the short end to the pin size hole on the base. Now to go and find those elusive Scottish trout.

Pat Campbell Thanks Pat! Bring your favourite reels back to life while saving a bunch of money! I service all my reels every year, sometimes twice a season. Ensures smooth casting, quiet and effortless retrieving. High quality reels are the easiest to service, while cheap baitcasters or spinning reels require higher maintenance and are more difficult to disassemble or have limited access to the gears. Most older reels are the easiest to service as they were made to last. Newer ones have less access or harder access to the gears and other components, although newer reels are designed with better gear ratios.

You buy a bail spring from a small reel repair shops. They will most likely carry a spring for every reel. Look online to find a reel repair place near your location.

I have a problem with my bail on my reel. The other day i tired to fix my bail bc the bar was bent. So when i unscrewed both sides of bail a little L shaped piece left out , but only on one side. Btw it doesn't have any springs at all in the bail system. I don't know how to put it back in .

My reel has a coil spring in it. I cannot figure out how it goes back in. When I put it in, it seems to be keeping the bail from moving and I haven't found any tutorial for how it is supposed to be installed correctly. It is a Shimano Sedona. Any suggestions?

I hope this reply isnt too late. Try seeing if you installed in backwards first, if not add some grease to the spring and toggle it into the hole. Shimano is very good with service. They have reel schematics readily available on the internet and their service center is located in Peterborough, Canada.
