@@Saltyscales can you do a video or explain to me how to reassemble the click pin on the rotorhead of a lews speed spin mh200 ,i took it apart and the pin went flying outa the spring and i cant get it back the way its suppose to go,ive gotten it in there and put it back together but the bail wouldnt budge so im definitely stuck and cannot find a video to show me ANYWHERE online
Your video actually helped me and I don't even have your particular problem. I didn't know how my Bail trip strike was supposed to go and that 1 second part of your video just saved me from buying a new real. Thanks for posting helpful videos.
I learn so much from your tutorials. I would have never thought about repairing my own reels if it wasn't for you and your help. You really make it look easy.
The spring and click pin are probably the most helpful bits of instruction. I figured mine out before you got to it in your video. But I think that is going to be the trickiest part for the average person trying to repair or maintenance their reel.
Thank you! I took my Berkeley reel apart to grease and oil everything and couldn’t figure out how to get the bail back on, practically identical parts…..you stopped me from throwing the whole damn reel away out of frustration 😂
I am shocked how shimano reels can have this problem. I have had some 40 euro fishing reels form almost 20 years and they work perfectly. I was thinking of getting some shimano reels but after watching this video i changed my mind. Thank you for sharing this issue with us!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! This is the same as a Technium 4000fc and I was getting to the point of binning it! No other site comes close to matching your level of detail in re-assembling the bail arm.
thank you so much you really helped me fix my reel and the overtightening tip helped a lot I was wondering why my bail had so much resistance all it needed was to be a little bit loosened!!! now it's snappy and nice like how it used to be thank you so much!
Thanks so much for the vid took apart a differnt rod n couldnt get that spring and pin back in for the bail to flip back n forth. On the reel i have had a slot i was puttin the pin in a didnt notice the single hole right next to it been trying to fix it for about a month and couldnt find anything on this finally got it thanks to your video
Thanks for your vid spent days on a self help! Nothing ! they all skipped around that area now I no why! Took my vintage Shakespeare stigma apart an oops shot that silly arm an spring across my living room 5 times before I gave up! An 2days later just happen upon ya! I heard angles sing!!
Man you save me from going crazy, I could not work out how to get that bail spring worked out. Now that you have showed that the pin has to actually go into that little hole in the bail arm, both my reels are so smooth now. Great video, very clear and good instruction.
The side of the bail that you did in the video is good for me. The other side is the one I am having trouble with. Do you know what size screw is on the other side?
Thank you so kindly for this tutorial. Shimano should put "WARNING!! BEWARE!!" On the schematics paper for this part when you're about ready to open it lol!! Opened up pandoras box when I decided to see if their was dirt in that area. The spring came out the piece that went in it. Took a while to fix it. And it flew all over several times. Had to get my flash light out to search. Lost a piece and just took the piece off an old shimano reel I don't use anymore and presto!! Got it to work. A little resistance but it opens up and clicks which you want that so the bail will open and stay.
Nice video Joshua. I have cleaned/repaired my reels for years but they are so old now that getting parts is hit and miss. My newest reel is around 20 years old. But maintenance and care they have worked pretty good. I also have a couple from my grandfather that works "OK." Not as good as a new one but oh well! Take care and Be Well Buddy!!! 👍👍👍
So thanks to your video I was able to have a better understanding about what was going on with my Saragosa (very similar assembly) turns out I had the same issue, unfortunately I can't seem to find a new rotor for the reel so I cheated and super glued that screw in lol. We'll see how long it lasts. So far so good! 👍🏻
Thanks for this vid, I unscrewed the bail arm apart and the spring/pin/sleeve (12:35) came out of the mechanism and I had no idea how to put back... classic tinkering problems
Thanks so much for this video mate. I took my Nasci apart for a clean and the click pin launched into outer space so I can definitely relate when you were like nooooooo hahaha. It's all fixed now and works a treat. Cheers
I've fixed a reel with this problem buy drilling the hole out some and getting a piece of aluminum tubing that fits in the new hole and tapping the tube cut to fit and then super glue it in new hole
Shocked Shimano sent that at no charge.. Reason I have mostly Penn Reels is you can get parts locally.. Great video and good teaching video.. Thanks for sharing.. Always your fan and subscriber..
So f**king glad you did this, my Sahara was in need of maintenance and that spring fell out. I was in shock that I was dumb enough to think I could fix it and loan behold RUclips university helped me out. Thank you thank you thank you.
how do you fix the bail arm part that is higher up on the spool. My metal bail arm came out of the hole that it goes in and i cant figure out how to insert it and make it stay?
Good video - wish I would have watched before I disassembled my Nasci! The click pin and spring fell out and got lost. Trying to source them from Shimano but the spring is discontinued! There's another site that has the parts but dang $25 shipping lol
Thank u for the info. I could not for the life of me get that spring back. An finally ur trick got me to use my pole after 6 months which i also got another pole bc i was just fed up with it an wanted to "PISS SOMEONE OFF AN GO FISHIN!!" 😂SO AGAIN THANK YOU
I love to rebuild and restore reels. I haven't worked on a Stradic before, it looks to be quite simple. I know some of the components you have to hold your mouth open and lick your nostrils to get the components back in the right place.lol. great tutorial! What was the work surface you were working on? Thanks for the hard work!
My Stradic is about 8 years old and I’ve taken it to be fixed a couple times. Soooo hopefully there is a fix now that will work ???? When casting the bail will close! Started when fairly new and had it fixed a couple times. Having to place a finger on it to keep it open gets old! Imagine seeing a nice school of fish and you need a dependable reel and the damn thing slams shut🤨
Ended up throwing my reel away cause I couldn't put the bail back on. I tried putting it on and the spring and pin shot all the way across the driveway. Not even going to attempt to find it
Shimano quality has sure slipped in the past few years, but they still want a pretty price for them. I fixed that problem on one with a little JB Weld.Just fill in where the threads are,but not covering the hole.Wait for it to set,and use a smidge of blue Loctite on screw.Very little needed. Now when you get the bail assembly back together, just start the screw and make sure it is not cocked. With a little pressure turn it in snug.Too many over-tighten and that is why threads get pulled out. No ugga-duggas needed in reel repair.
i killed mine tryin to reassamble the damn thing. the pieces jumped out before i could get a good look at how they fit! the bale is bent to hell! i got a washer left over! damn it mannn!
I definitely got my monies worth, I've had this reel for four years and caught hundreds of fish including tarpon and cobia. I would spend the money again.
I got 3 and have had no luck with any of em.i ve had to replace bearings in all of em and an anti reverse in the c14+.and shimano wanted money for all of the parts.they were all barely a year old. i regularly clean and maintain my reels once a month so i was highly disappointed considering the money i spent for them.

You can do it!

Thanks for this vid, I unscrewed the bail arm apart and the spring/pin/sleeve (12:35) came out of the mechanism and I had no idea how to put back... classic tinkering problems
There are lots of little parts that is for sure. 👍
Still cant put mine back together. I'm just thinking of throwing it out and getting a new one

Thanks so much for this video mate.
I took my Nasci apart for a clean and the click pin launched into outer space so I can definitely relate when you were like nooooooo hahaha.
It's all fixed now and works a treat. Cheers
