Takeaway notes to read 1 book per week
Keep an active book list - To read list (you can use audible or notes on your phone)
Test your reading rate (lines p/m or words p/m) and look to improve and record this regularly
Median No. of words in a book is around 64000. Based on a reading rate of 200 words p/m this would take you 320 mins in total to finish or 45 mins reading per day.
Schedule time to read in your diary.
Do you reading in a place where you can focus and wnt be distracted, remove all distractions?
Schedule your reading times around your peak body cycles and time it with your natural peaks and not ebbs - Review chronotypes
I added a few additional in there.

I think reading speeds depends on which type of book you're reading. For example reading a novel or something easily comprehensive takes lesser time than reading a book whose coceptsare completely new to you for example a quantum physics science book

So as Jim said "Common Sense is not Common Practice". I love the idea of scheduling 45 minutes per day to read and I'm going to start incorporating this in my life. I did the reading test and I'm at 350 words a minute so hopefully at that pace I can do more than a book a week. But I'm excited to see what comes up. Also, what's on everyone's book list?

@@francis2k488 you can test your wpm by copying text and use online tool for speed reader. Paste it there it will display one word running through the text. You need to paste amount of words you want to test yourself. For example I want to test how fast I can read 500 words at 250 words per min. At the end check your comprehension. See if you can explain to someone what you just read. If you can't keep decreasing speed. Because only being able to comprehend what you read will help you otherwise u r just wasting time.

Jim Kwik, what if a child more than 35 years ago use to Read a Book every two days?!?!?!?!?! That was ME. My mother "had" to restrain my reading because there wasn`t enough money to buy So many books, So by the age of 12 I was reading my parents books, literature by classic wide-known authors from the world: Leo Tolstoi, Dostoievsky, Honoré de Balzac, Jorge Amado, Eça de Queiroz, and.So many others. I also used to do a wish list for Christmas and Birthday suggestions, So people, family and friends could have options to give me useful presents! I did that steadely until my late twenties!
After being a Mother of two, I couldn`t manage to Reading a Book a month, but soon got back to this Heathy habit of mine! I Am Now 44 and my teenager kids Love reading, an average of two books per month. We Are tottaly Book Lovers! And apart from Reading skills, a Book is a treasured friend here! 💟 Rita, Portugal
