    WOW! That was great! My problem is coming up with such stories though. Maybe, by training my mind will come up with more pictures and stories.

    • @gie4349
      @gie4349 3 года назад

      Yes. I need to practice my creativity and imagination, too. And also, I'm struggling with feeling childish / foolish in practicing this method. It did work, though... tremendously. So, I have to learn to fend off this feeling and keep my eyes on the prize (which is better memory).

    • @andreaadams7335

  • @oshanewilliams8865

    My biggest take away was that the story and the pictures definitely proved most effective in recalling the words in the correct order both forward and backwards. I definitely will try to apply this in my own quest to better memorize.

    This was something I needed to help with language learning because I've heard a few times of how visualizing the words will help remember and at first I didn't understand how to go about because ofc it was ridiculous to have like say a helium balloon take and hydrant to the skies but at the same time while doing the exercise and seeing how effective it was now I think I can try language learning but have a different perspective on how to learn and recall words that I"m trying to remember

    There is a question always bugs my mind. In order to remember something we link it to something else, with stories and emotions. However if we cannot remember that bound thing we cannot remember the original thing we need to remember. How can we remember the linked item to remember the original item? Thank you!

      If you really want to learn something It helps to visualize what it is you want to remember and if possible try to imagine what it feels like and smells like or tastes like but if it's just arbitrary stuff your much less likely to remember it. This has always helped me as well as practicing my recall of it when I have nothing else to do and always tell yourself as if it's fact that you have a great memory. You are what you believe you are and you have the ability to do whatever you believe you can do.

    Because I have seen you talk about visualizations before I imagined pretty much dragging an image into photoshop and arrange the words into like a poster. Hydrant and balloon in the middle, batteries standing and laying in front, barrel to my right side of the hydrant, a board in front of the batteries, a diamond next to the batteries, and for knight rider I first thought of KITT (knight industries two thousand ;p) but I wanted it even clearer so I put up a knight on a horse on my left of the hydrant. Then you said ox and since I have cows it connected easy but putting an ox next to a knight on a horse I thought "that's weird" which made me miss the toothpaste so then I heard sign. So if I had not missed the toothpaste I would have gotten all 10 right the first try. :)
