Lovely bag, I'll give it a try but the circle handle gives me a bit of hesitation. Bet you've heard the old saying about teaching old dogs new tricks, well this vintage lady isn't afraid of trying new tricks! Thank you for teaching me new sewing tricks!
Oh! Very very nice bag that I know I absolutely have to make! I can already see a friend using this bag I will make for her. And a matching wallet from your other tutorial. I will also make a set for myself. Thanks so much for sharing!
As soon as I saw this bag knew it would be ideal for a gift bag. Admittedly I found attaching the bias binding on the bag tricky but overall I love it and it is the first of many, thank you for inspiring me to do more.
I love it! I’ve been planning to make a lunch bag in this shape but I didn’t consider quilting the outside. I think I’m going to make that change. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Debbie do you think bosal would work instead of the fleece? Love this bag, will be making lots, my first one turned out as a great success. I would like to make it as a handbag for myself.
hi debbie this bag is so adorable ive made my first one today and its spot on , however i hate bias binding stitching it on . isnt their a way that this bag can be done without aoo the raw edges showing i mean when you turn it through and you have to put the binding on
I Love It! 🥰 I’m on the hunt for a better type of sewing machine than what I have, could you tell me what type of sewing machine you are using? My machine always give me tension issues, even after re threading & placing a new needle as needed for the fabric. Your response is greatly appreciated.
Debbie, if you have mentioned the name before, forgive me asking but what is the brand of heat erasable pen(s) you use? Thank you as always for your clear and concise tutorials.
When you have to cover the curves, you need the stretchiness of the fabric . That is only made available when you cut the fabric on the 45 degree angle , called the bias. When you cut on the grain line ( runs parallel to the selvage ) , there is zero stretch. When you cut on the cross grain, which is perpendicular to the grainline , it has very small stretch, very small. Therefore cutting on any straight edge will NOT work out nicely on covering a curved edge. That’s only works when you have to cover a straight edge like the long straight edge of a table cloth. ( I am a newbie at sewing , so I hope my explanation helps…. I have been watching many sewing videos from all over to improve my understanding . Once I understand , it sticks with me.) Good luck sewing this nifty project. It’s too pretty for me to “gift “ away unless it’s for my own family and I can get it back to reuse it again when the next occasion of my gift giving to them rolls around . As my sons said, don’t waste your time , effort on people who don’t appreciate handmade gifts. Put those in paper gift bags. Keep your handmade stuff for those who will treasure what you took time, effort and love to make.
Love the way you make it so easy for us. Judi xxx

It's either the top or the handle that would need binding, there's no way of turning it through if you sew both I'm afraid...

I use frixion, always patch first!
Lovey guilted gift bags. =^^=
Ms Debbie, can I not cut the binding from a straight angle instead of on the bias?
If you do that your binding won’t lie straight and will pucker up , Debbie does explain this in the video x

Sorry overslept & missed live stream
Can't find the measurements
May want to spell check the name on the video.

Thanks!
Your welcome. Loved the video.
I prefer chalk to mark, you are certain it will go away.
