  • A simple little bag that is useful for make-up, sewing notions or a cute bag for the kids! I used wynciette for this bag, Cute Animals and Light Grey Check, but try canvas, cotton, linen, denim, faux leather, cork or any fabric you like!
    Materials from www.debbieshore...
    You will need:
    2 pieces of outer fabric each measuring 10" x 5" [26cm x 13cm]
    2 pieces of contrast fabric each measuring 10" x 3" [26cm x 8cm]
    2 pieces of contrast fabric for the lining each measuring 10" x 8" [26cm x 21cm)
2 pieces of fabric for the handles each measuring 18” x 3.5”
    12" [31cm] zip or longer!
    20" x 8" [51cm x 21cm] fusible fleece [H630]

No Debs!!!! I made this as a gift for one of my friends .... and I ended up having to make 34!!!! Another friend saw, and another and a friend of the friends etc. ! But it is truly a winner. What I did now is when I make a tote bag I copy the exact fabric schemes to this smaller bag and I sell it as a combined item. The girls (and boys) loveit! I adapted the tote bag to also have the same handle layout as this small one, but I made the zipper closure of the tote bag with side panels.

Great idea! I'm having trouble deciding how much to charge. My friend wants me to make 8 for her to give away as Christmas presents. Would you mind sharing your price for the large and small? And the for your two bags together. I was thinking $30 for the small but is it too much. Thanks, I understand if you don't though.

I try to watch your Live videos, but time does not always allow. Thank you SO much, Debbie, for taking the time to produce the short tutorial versions of the projects featured in your Live videos. You always give great directions and explanations for each step of construction.
This is a fabulous pattern and tutorial! I love how easy it would be to resize the bag and add interior and/or exterior pockets from your other demos.
    Stay well!

Hi Debbie I am very anxious about sewing anything with zips. This tutorial has been really helpful, so will have a go at making this cute little bag. I have watched many of your tutorials, you explain everything so well and I have been able to make a few items. I am a novice at sewing but feel that with your guidance I have improved, so thank you. All I need to do now is master the cutting out of fabric as mine often tends to be slightly different sizes. Yet to master the rotor cutter as I have weak hands. But thank you again. Jax

I just made a bag similar but no handles and it only has one color fabric on the outside and then on the inside of the lining is a different color. I really really love your bags!! Thank you for the inspiration I'm going to go start another one but the way you've done yours.

I was wondering if sewing the top and bottom outer pieces together first then laying the two completed front and back over the fleece would be easy and would avoid sewing those two pieces after the fleece had been ironed on which would make a smoother front and back. A line of stitching can still be sewn at the seam area.
