    FYI the video is flickering because your electrical system is 50 Hz and your camera is set to compensate for 60 Hz (North America).

    Can you add a GPS locator to the Luba lawnmower and wire it into the battery full-time looks like there’s plenty of room I’ll be anxiously awaiting to see your video. This is something that absolutely everybody who owns a Luba would like to know and be able to do.

    • @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913
      @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913  Год назад +1

      Yes absolutely possible to do. But be carefull not to let the tracker drain the battery too low or it will trip the BMS in the battery pack. I havn't tripped a luba battery yet, but many battery packs will not automatically reset when you put them back on charge.

    Hard to see from the video but are the blade motors brushless? Did you get any more info on the battery, it's hard to judge the height of the pack but was curious to know if they used prismatic or cylindrical cells.

    Would you mind commenting on the likelihood of....
    1. Swapping out the antenna in the back for a better/stronger one (could see drilling a hole and mounting a stick style antenna up) to possibly improve positioning?
    2. Any chance of swapping out that 10ah battery for a better/larger one that is more compact?

    • @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913
      @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913  Год назад +1

      I think changing the antenna may make a small difference and raising it wouldprobably make a reasonble differce to some yards, but would make it impractical to mow around low hanging trees and bushes.
      For the battery I suspect you could absolutely do that, there may be some minor incompatibility issues with the minimum and maximum charge voltages from the firware, but it would likey work ok.

    Thanks for the video. I thought the machine felt substantial compared to the competition so it is nice to see inside. Only down side for me seems to be battery replacement in the future - having to take the whole thing apart to undertake this service, rather than having a simple battery slot. I've very pleased with my machine

    I have been thinking of adding a small LTE router inside there, which will supply Luba with it's own local WIFI. For that a +5V power must be available. Can you tell, if there is a place where +5V can be take easily?

    • @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913
      @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913  Год назад

      Sorry I havnt look to see if there is a 5V rail or pins to take this from. But you could use a dashcam hard wiring kit and connect it straight to the battery. Just be very aware that if you run the battery voltage too low its BMS will trip and could be dificult to get it to charge again without jump starting it with another battery.

    The disk shaped antenna will be for receiving GPS from the satellites. There is a separate Short Range Device (SRD) receive antenna for transmissions from the RTK and another for WiFi/Bluetooth. There is a picture showing these antennas as part of the FCC report which is on line. The same picture shows the SRD and Bluetooth/WiFi modules. From the picture the SRD module sports a Semtech LLCC68 LoRa chip + 32MHz crystal which is capable of receiving (and transmitting) in the range 150 - 960MHz. On the Luba it will be receiving only and presumably the same chip on the RTK transmitting only. It will be using one of the Industrial Scientific Medical (ISM) bands of freqs in this range reserved for such devices, also appropriate to the regulatory authority for the region.
    The reason I researched this is I need to elevate the RTK link antenna without elevating the whole RTK above a parapet. The link antenna has an SMA connector so I should be able to fit the RTK below the parapet so it isn't visible but has an unobscured view of the satellites and then I can extend the link antenna by a coax above the parapet. For positioning purposes I'm pretty sure it is the RTK GPS antenna that is important, whereas the link antenna could be anywhere, as long as the coax isn't too long and losses not too great.

    • @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913
      @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913  9 месяцев назад +1

      If the motor is not jammed by some foreign object and has a high current or rpm error then it will probably need a new motor or motor driver board. Check to see if it spins freely when it is turned off. This will rule out if there is something just jammed in the motor that could be found and removed.

    MAMMOTION: Aber VORSICHT, wenn ihr den Support braucht. Wenn du kein Tester bist, bekommst du nicht einmal eine Antwort, wenn du etwas wissen willst, was nicht in der Beschreibung steht. In meinem Fall wollte ich nur wissen, ob, wenn ein Haus mitten im Garten steht, die Verbindung zum LUBA auch auf allen Seiten des Hauses gewährleistet ist. Außer die erste Antwort mit lapidaren Hinweis auf das Handbuch, keine Reaktion.
    But BE CAUTIOUS if you need support. If you're not a tester, you won't even receive a response when you want to know something that isn't in the description. In my case, I just wanted to know if, when a house is situated in the middle of the garden, the connection to LUBA is ensured on all sides of the house. Except for the initial response with a curt reference to the manual, there was no reaction.

Buy from a local dealer so you get the support you need. I will be taking a detailed video in the comming week explaining more about RTK positioning. IM not sure what your quesiton really is, but if you are talking about the signal from the RTK antenna to the LUBA then the signal will pass through most object in its way and you should get very good coverage on all sides of your house.

    • @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913
      @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913  Год назад

      Only software limitations. Some 5000s have the full rubber wheels but these are mostly phased out now. The 3000 has a limitation to reduce the max mowing speed and reduces the max areas from 10 down to 6. Thats it every thing else is the same.

    Is there any room to put gps tracker inside?

    • @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913
      @robotlawnmowersaustralia7913  5 месяцев назад

      yes absolutely. We install airtgs inside the robot for our customers all the time. We dont recomend using the battery of robot mowers to power trackers, so as long as you have a tracker with separate power supply it will work well. Using the robot battery usually leads to the robot battery tripping its BMS and sometimes not able to recharge.

      yes this is true. The robot is pretty heavy and if dropped it will very likley break the axle. We have repaired a few broken axles now but not many. Later models and the Luba 2 havea slightly stronger design, but it not that much stronger.

The physical design makes it pretty much unserviceable by the owner, from disassembly, to the availability of parts.
