    The pole is probably aluminum, not stainless steel. The point being, it's not regular steel that can rust since that is magnetic.
    There was no step by step guide when I went into the app. In the video I was assuming there would be. Maybe when I logged in, it bypassed the instructions?
    There are two screws for the front bumper on Luba 2 that were not needed on Luba 1, I missed that.
    This is a pretty decent setup video by mammotion showing the screws. ruclips.net/video/MxKXJeDuFeg/видео.htmlsi=UlY0052Gw5uuH0qL

    Thanks again for all the info. I installed the RTK in my attic and it went perfectly. I conected it to a 2x4x12 and the RTK is about 14 feet up, about a foot from the spray foam. The extra cable that came with it made it east to reach the outlet in my attic. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video.

    I have a 60" cut Dixie Chopper that I have mowed with for years. I went to pick up some spark plugs at the dealership. They sell Dixie Choppers, Grass Hopper, Bad Boys, and 3 other brands that I can't remember, as well as tractors. Anyways, the lady asked me if I had mowed any this year yet. I smiled real big and pulled out my phone and showed her my Luba 2 5000H mowing. She went nuts. "Wow! That is incredible! Where did you get it?" I told her what all it will do and she just kept going on about how awesome it was. I was laughing inside, thinking these machines are going to put you all out of business in probably 5-6 years.

    Thanks for the video. I ordered my Luba 2 3000H today. I'm super interested in any hints about an attic install. I'm very similar to your house (asphalt shingles, spray foam conditioned attic). I have a spare 110 outlet in the attic too. Question... Should I mount it as high as I can, or is just being in the attic enough?

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  Месяц назад +3

      When I set up Luba 1 last year (then returned it when Luba 2 was announced) I put it up as high as I could reach (around 8') and it was spotty. So I got a bucket and moved it up another foot. Then the actual RTK was at the top of the wood I put the pipe clamps on in this video. Then I had no issues. So height helps, but it was still a few feet from the top of the roof and working fine.
      Going back to Luba 2, after this video, I did end up sliding the RTK down about 6" from the rafter ridge. It seemed to pick up an extra 2 satellites. I wasn't having problems, but I needed to mess with it for some reason I can't remember.

    Hello Hezekiah, thank you very much for the good video from Luba 2. I'm interested in whether the RTK antenna under the roof also works, is the signal reception good there? How thick is the roof and do you have real clay tiles on it or something thinner? That would be good for me to know because I'm planning to buy the Luba 2, thank you Ralph from germany

      I have an asphalt shingle roof, underlayment, OSB, 4" spray foam, 5.5" mineral wool insulation. I'm not confident, but I'm 51% sure that moving the rtk down about 6 inches increased my GPS count by 1 to 3 on average. But that's the cool thing about these systems, you can move them around and reset and try again.

    Thanks for the video, I thought RTK was solar powered as they advertised. Did you got any solar panels for RTK?

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  3 месяца назад +1

      It was a little misleading in the initial advertising and main product pictures. But they do clarify, the solar panels are NOT included, it says this on the product picture on the listing, and if you scroll to the bottom of almost any luba 2 page, the last part of the page is "What's in the Box" with both pictures and a written list. Some people in the forums were looking at product pictures and guessing what's in the box, but they actually list it out at the bottom of the page.

    Question. I just got my Luba 2. I set up all my areas today and did a test mow. If I move my charging station about a foot will have to start over?

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  Месяц назад

      Nope! Just put Luba on the charger manually, and go to settings, then relocate charging station. It will be greyed out of its not charging, it needs to be charging. You can do it again when the GPS quality is better too, anytime it's charging.
      If you relocate the rtk, then you need to remap. But every time you remap, you'll get better at it.
      If you could help me out with a vote, I'd really appreciate it. No personal info, just tap vote then tap it again after it says "success". I'm trying to get enough votes so mammotion can't ignore me. cont.st/uZnrsv_nThtij?g=1

    • @HezekiahDomowski

      The signal will be best if you put it outside, above the tallest peak of your roof. But the attic is good enough to work without issues if you have an asphalt shingle roof.

    whats the material of the roof? If my roof is metal will it work? Also, does the RTK antena plug into the base? If yes did you use an extension cord set a path to the base from your attic?

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  3 месяца назад

      I have a standard asphalt shingle roof. I don't know about a metal roof, that does seem like it might cause issues. But you can try it. Luba one and Luba 2 are both shipped with the wires needed to connect the rtk directly to the base, and they're also shipped with a separate power supply as seen in the video. The rtk does not connect to the base for anything but Power. So if you're using a separate power supply there is no connection to the base. It wirelessly connects to the mower either way.

  • @metalsteel5631

    if you use the rtk extension cable, can it still connect to the base station? or will the extension only work with the rtk power brick?

Is there specific cable extention for the cable from RTK if I can run it from the further part of my yard that is on the hill?

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  2 месяца назад

      The rtk plugs into any normal outlet. Any extension cord will work, you'll just need to figure out water proofing depending on your situation.

      @HezekiahDomowski had to come up with different solution since I didn't want to bury and sleeve the cord. Went to QP store and built j mount out of plumbing pipes with the wall shelf L bracket that have hollow space. Pain in the ass and now I still have to find the wall stud outside to drill in.

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  Месяц назад

      It's possible because satellites communicate with radio waves, and radio waves go through walls. They are very far away, so the waves are weak, and so obstacles can easily block them. But one layer of shingles and one layer of plywood and some insulation is not enough to block them.

    How well does the Rtk work through attic boards?

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  3 месяца назад +1

      Great, on luba 1, I got more satelites in the attic than when it was next to the luba in open air. And the best part is that on all sides of the house the luba and RTK has a fairly strong signal.
      One thing that is overlooked is that the advertised "accuracy" (is it like 2cm?) it doesn't matter how accurate it claims it can be, it is NOT that accurate when the satellites and connections are weak. It's somewhere around 6-12 inches at the worst accuracy, and after that it will pause and wait for better accuracy.
      Hopefully LUBA 2 is better about that with vision to correct for lack-of-precision in the GPS, but I don't know how to measure that.
      But for Luba 1, in the attic was definitely a more stable, less pausing, connection.

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  3 месяца назад +1

      Also, you can see my next video where I made a map, and it had no problems making a map. On Luba 1 it would yell at you when making a map if the GPS signal was poor. it would pause and make you wait for a better signal before letting you proceed with making the map.
      No such errors with this setup: ruclips.net/video/dXznh5VWzf8/видео.html

      @@HezekiahDomowskiI am looking to purchase the Luba 2 and I was fretting on what to do with the dang antenna - it looks hideous to put in your yard - I have a small property in suburbia but tired of cutting lawn all the time and don’t want to have to bury cables for perimeter - I wasn’t sure if the app told you the Rtk connection status somewhere for how many satellites it can detect? Main reason I want it is to maintain short grass - I have Bermuda and would like that 1 inch cut but I always struggle to maintain and not scalp the lawn - always seems like it’s easy at the beginning of the season but then going on vacations I let it slide and then by end of summer I’m at 3” cut height

    • @HezekiahDomowski
      @HezekiahDomowski  3 месяца назад +3

      @@matthewm7867 the short answer is yes.
      It tells you how many satellites the rtk sees, and how many in common it has with the mower, and tells you how strong the connection is between the mower and the rtk. Power users will drive their mower around watching the stats, then move the rtk and repeat. The main thing for me was hugging the house, how many did they have in common? Putting the rtk in the attic let's it see so many, it's far more likely to have more in common with the mower. But the signal between the rtk and the mower was weaker until I moved the rtk another foot higher. Originally with Luba 1 I put it around 8' off the ground in the attic. Going to 9' helped me keep a more stable connection between rtk and mower.
