    Original Description:
Find out how an exhausted screenwriter managed to shove Iron Man, Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Black Widow, Thanos, Tyrion Lannister, Star Lord, Groot, Gamora, Drax, Mantis, Shuri, Hulk, Thor and MANY MANY MANY more heroes into a single Marvel movie. Whew. Kind of nuts.
In Avengers: Infinity War, the stakes have never been higher, as Thanos executes his very vague and not very well explained plan of wiping out half of all life in the universe! Despite not being able to do so for the past 18 Marvel movies, collecting the 6 Infinity Stones necessary to complete this task is #supereasybarelyaninconvenience. The question now remains, how is Marvel Studios going to top this one?

How do people insist on taking literally any joke and saying it in an out-of-context, unfunny way is beyond me honestly. Even when corporations do it for advertising I'm always baffled that PR don't see how jarring those memes look without the proper context and setup, but when supposed "fans" do it? Absolutely mind boggling

Like, I noticed you haven't covered blockbusters like Mission Impossible and Dune. Were they just good enough to avoid getting a Pitch Meeting?

    • @UncleCyborg

He did do one on the Mission Impossible franchise, just not the individual movies.

+ Loki is alive (idc if it’s a variant)
+ Hiemdall is alive in Valhalla
    + Vision is back
    + Thor’s eye is back
    + Thor’s hammer is back
+ RDJ is supposedly in talks to come back
*The only thing* that had lasting stakes was that it ruined Quill and Gamora’s relationship

Hey Ryan, could you do a series on Pixar like you did Twilight or Harry Potter? They’re still pretty recent so they should get good views, and the concepts especially of the older movies should work really well with your format. Your Soul and Toy Story pitch meetings were some of my favorites and I bet you could do a bunch more great ones on other Pixar movies.

Question: aside from certain genres (such as comedies not really working for the Pitch Meeting-treatment), is there any specific formula / typical tropes that lend themselves perfectly for a Pitch Meeting? In other words: do you have a mental list of check boxes that you tick, or is the whole process of picking a movie more organic and mostly based on loose ideas?

I've been feeling that superhero fatigue recently as well. I didn't watch She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Loki, Shazam 2, Blue Beetle, or The Flash, and I don't really plan on watching The Marvels or Aquaman 2 any time soon, soooo... yeah.
With that in mind, have there been any times where you had to write a pitch meeting for something you had absolutely zero desire to watch, and how did you go about preparing yourself and pushing past that feeling?
I hope you're doing well and that you stay in good health!
