Ant-Man and the Wasp is Marvel’s first film to come out after the insanity that was Avengers: Infinity War just a few months ago. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena and Michael Douglas provide us with some pretty hilarious moments and action scenes in this sequel to 2015’s Ant-Man… just don’t think about it too much. The quantum realm is the latest plot tool that Marvel is throwing our way after the magical Vibranium in Black Panther and the millions of timelines in Infinity War. How did this movie come to be exactly? Step inside the pitch meeting that started it all. It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience.

I definitely agree with your point about needing more emotional weight. It's something you even mentioned in the Quantumania PM, that our main characters not only get transferred to another dimension which was previously shown to be inescapable but also go up against a villain who is formidable enough to kill Thor, yet every single one of our heroes escape unscathed. It doesn't make sense for there to be no immediate consequences (Kang is a long term consequence). While things can be explained away (they can escape because they know more than they used to about the dimension, etc) it doesn't make sense that the entirety of the Pym family escapes alive and that Cassie is more or less the same person coming out of the film. The reason Infinity War hit so hard was because we saw our heroes lose. We need more of that moving forward

Im interested in hearing more about how you are able to put these scripts together so quickly and efficiently. How many times to you need to watch a movie (especially one still in theater) before you get everything you need? Do you have kind of a formula or pattern to look out for when watching a movie and building your jokes? It seems like you have a very good knowledge of film making and story telling. Do you have any background in literature or film making?

I do have a question this time: when you record the characters, if you've already done some for one character do you listen to it as you go or just go off a script and then see how it all sounds when you put it together? I'm curious because your timing with yourself is so perfect in these it legitimately sounds like listening to 2 different people have a conversation.

The later seasons need a Producer Guy commentary. 2. How to you go about getting permission to show clips of these movies in your videos? I would love to do more movie review videos but the copywrite claims make me nervous, is it hard logistically, does Screen Rant take care of it? FYI, Those last two questions don't count when I said I have 2 questions because they were part of the last question. Thanks again for making us laugh, looking forward to the next video.

Two of the best Marvel movies, Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, had absolutely zero punching bags, and it really showed in the quality of the films. Literally, every punch and action piece in both of those movies had lots of consequences--personal and social--and by the end of the movie the audience actually feels bad for every punch thrown.
I wish we had gotten more of that kind of storytelling before everything fell apart.
