    Thanks for posting. I’m about to start my hotshot business as soon as I get my CDL license which it should be soon. Since I’ve been in trucking school I understand the importance of driving speed limit and have greater respect for semi drivers and people who obey the law. Your CDL license is your life and any violations can break a company.

    Very smart guy. I did the same on my 2012 cascadia. I have a champion 4250 generator since my 5th wheel is enough far away from my cab, and a floor portable 9000 btu a/c, and I connect the ac exhaust in the passenger side window, in a piece of aluminum sheet that I cut molded same like the glass, but leave a hole in where I connect the a/c exhaust. We do what we have to do, to survive in this tough times...😉👍

    My sleep position is same but without a formal mattress per say. I just filled in the low spots on the floor w small pillows then two exercise mats then I cut the foam out of old mattresses 2 layers equalling 9" of foam. Then I go round and round and round just like my dog do and settle in snug as a bug. I sleep better in my truck than I do at home.

    I have the Predator 2300 watt inverter/generator. Small enough to fit in my toolbox. Has 1 gallon gas tank that lasts 10 hours if it doesn't get to cold. Ain't got nothing for summer yet.

    There used to be a company that made rear window Sleepers for pickup trucks just big enough to have a single bed inside. That and I'd love to see somebody actually put together some type of diesel Apu and a separate AC system allowing to disconnect the engine AC compressor to see what type of mile per gallon increase you would get. I'm willing to bet that set up would pay for itself in 2 years or better and be much better return on investment because of the reduction in where on the motor.

    Most truck stops sell a 12v heated mattress pad that you sleep on. I have slept at down to -18° f. And I don't have an Arctic grade sleeping bag either. I haven't really figured out how to stay cool yet. Have a Milwaukee M18 fan but not really put it to the test yet.

    Nice setup, I’ve hauled that exact same load before out of Elkhardt and the guy at the drop off location was a bit of an ass!
    I had a 2020 Silverado, and it was a badass truck, but I now drive a Peterbilt. I was beginning to have def and sensor issues and I only had 45,000 miles on the truck. How’s your truck doing?

      I would highly recommend custom ordering your hotshot truck. Hotshot work is trucking. This way you get what you need, and not what you don't. The emblem on the hood, isn't as important as the job the vehicle is performing!

    Do you still have this unit? And do you think the ac unit could keep up with texas heat for a truck trying not to idle during the day?
    I have a job where I'm in the truck all day and idling is costing me a ton of money, do you think the unit could keep the truck, at least where I'm sitting in the seat, comfortable?

    • @gmstrucking155
      @gmstrucking155  Год назад +3

      Of course. I love the unit. I still have it and still is going strong. If its 110 outside and you plan on using it in the blazing sun then you will need to cool the truck off inside with your truck ac for a few then throw on the unit. Otherwise it will take some time to cool the cab down but you will be comfortable for sure. This unit has saved me so much money and maintenance cost.
