  • Orange Bentley revisit + Yaris GR!
A few months ago, the Bentley visited WhiteDetails for a Minor Detail only to be turned away as the rear offside quarter had been compromised with several burn-throughs and miss matching paintwork. The supplying Bentley dealership covered rectification costs and the entire offside has been painted. In the episode, the Bentley finally receives the paint correction along with Modesta BC04 ceramic paint protection and fabric hood treatments.

You definitely need an assistant. Since Terry moved on you definitely have been struggling and im sure you miss the workshop banter. Personally just my thoughts... You have a brilliant brand. It stands for absolute perfection. Watching "other online detailers", you are far beyond anyone else in the quality of your work. It really stands out and that makes you a world leader. I think WhiteDetails could become a franchise. The only issue being the management and ensuring the QA of those WhiteDetail Franchises to make sure they are working at the level required by the brand. But that could potentially be a financial gamechanger for you.

Jim it was nice to see the final story of the Bentley GTC. I think if anything your videos continue to show how low the standards are for many paint and body workshops in the UK. Also you and your business need at least another dedicated detailer to help assist and continue the great work you show us. This will hopefully give you a little extra time to keep making the videos or like some other automotive channels you bring in a 3rd party videographer (finances allowing) to shoot the cars and the processes for you ? Anyways keep up the great work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Must be pretty frustrating for the new owner of such an expensive and beautiful vehicle to know that the Bentley dealership where they had the paintwork done to find out that they have AT THE VERY LEAST ONE disaster of an employee that has ZERO clue what they are doing with paint correction!! If I were the General Manager of that paint business I would review all my employees experience and find the one fool that either has no experience or lied on his/her qualifications and fire that person. Then I would bring in an expert (like Jim) and have EVERY employee that touches paint on a normal daily basis as their job and make them RE-LEARN how to do their job properly and not ruin such beautiful paint! What a disgrace that there are Bentley dealerships out there passing of such horrible quality workmanship!!! (sorry for the vent)

It might not just be the pandemic, Jim. You are at the very top of your game, and as they say, it’s lonely at the top. You set yourself such high standards and that’s what makes White Details special. It’s also why it’s not scaleable as a franchise - because the USP is you. Your job requires you to be analytical, you inherently have to look at luxury objects and identify what isn’t perfect about them. You improve them to a standard that no one else could reach and most people couldn’t appreciate, but you are probably still not happy with your work. You can look at Ammo NYC for ideas of where it can go, but I think you are invested enough in your work, it’s time for some self care. Focus on what you need. Your NZ trip was so good for you and it was cruel that it was cut short. Consider speaking to someone... it can really help. I hope you don’t mind... I can just identify with where I think you might be at. I’ve watched your channel for a long time and your work is outstanding.

Seriously Jim, I know a lot of others have already said similar, but we NEED someone like you in the detailing game.
Your levels of workmanship and professionalism are a standard to be held up to many, many of the other companies out there.
Plus, you are holding companies, car manufacturers and dealerships to account when no-one else is brave enough to do it. It's helping to keep them more honest.
The UK detailing industry would be losing one of its absolute best if you decided to pack up and do something else.
Then who will people bring their cars to when other "detailers" have done a rubbish job?

Perhaps co-locate to a shared auto facility where you can do your own thing in your own space, but have the ability to interact with others. There might be demand from others who do detailed work ( or any type, not necessarily auto related ) to co-locate and at least have a lunch-bunch/ Friday drink bunch to unwind.

    Jim, excellent work mate, truely you are gifted ,not only as a detailer but as a person. I understand the isolation that comes with this unique craft and your way of operating, if it's any kind of help to you and your mental health look at it like this;
Your not actually alone while you work, each and every one of your subscribers are with you mate and when you piece to camera you truely are talking to us and we truely are there, we are listening, we are watching we are with you mate.
Just hope it helps Jim, and no matter what the future holds for you or what ever decision you make just know your subscribers are with you and behind you and will allways support you.
You havn't been the same since Terry moved on, so Jim, take on an apprentice and pass your knowledge on and have the company you not only need during the working day but as a human we are happier when we have company.
Thanks for reading my comments Jim. Take care mate.

Get yourself an apprentice. You could teach everyone else, by teaching them.
Keep your chin up, we're all in it together, even if you feel alone at times, you 'aint, I promise you that!
    👍🏻

Tough times indeed atm for us all. Just got to keep chipping away tho. Fab work on that lovely coloured car, it really turned out nice. I would only echo other comments and agree that you definitely need another comedy work buddy:)

As great a car detailer, I think you need a clean break and change of career to something more rewarding.
To me having been a viewer for a few years, you just don't seem at all a happy man and with losing your
Assistant and lockdown I looks like to me your heart just isn't in it. Believe me there is more to detailing cars.
Get out and see the world more. Being couped up in that white room is messing with your head. Good luck.

So Toyota decided to put a wrap on the carbon fiber because it exposed when they produced it they did not put a gel coat on the exposed carbon fiber, Jim I bet the Toyota paint was pretty much flawless for years my dad would order this color on his Toyota does he work for the forklift division of Toyota! Everything I noticed on Toyotas and Audis or how consistent the panel gaps are!

like lots of others Jim, love your work and it is your passion which drives your excellence. Taking on a mate would seem like the ideal thing to do,. Your well being is the most important thing and breaking that isolation given the extremely long hours seems crucial. Good luck and take care

Jim keep that chin up you have the best detailing channel out there, as far as feeling down, don't focus on the 2 or 3 things that are not going well in your life but be thankful for the 50 or 60 good things, that will make life fun again, God Bless!

Another great recovery paint job. Did you polish the chrome strips with the same paint cutting and polishing compounds.

Great work as always Jim. You’ve got me hooked on the cartec 3000! What brand panel wipe do you use?

Great work as always. But my question is why Modesto over others. I am new to coatings. And I see a few places use Modesto. Does it have superior scratch resistance over anything else in the market?

Jim I hope I speak for a few others, but we would watch your videos even if it was a wall mounted camera and before and after shots. Yes you add a brilliant narrative but if you're bored of the process for now then please consider that as a means to keep us addicts happy. Keep up the brilliant work mate, you are appreciated.
