      Will this work on my Apple Watch 4, or will I need a newer version? I wanted the latest one, but when it didn’t measure blood glucose, I decided to wait till that was available as this feature was my main reason to upgrade.

      Just bought it . Can’t get it to work!!! Reached out to them by messenger (only way to reach out , they said it doesn’t work because of the Apple Watch new firmware upgrade and that they will be asking Apple to fast track their fix sometime next week. There is no one to talk to, and for now I just paid $150 for an Apple Watch strap that is not very attractive and has no additional functionality. Piece of shit item , and a piece of shit company. Don’t walk -RUN away from this company!!!!!!!

    Since this measurement does not have to be continuously monitored, I wish this product was more of a stand alone handle bar you hold with both hands (to read the conductivity).... at the time of measurement.... and then leave at home. Then you don't have to carry it with you, does not need to be miniaturized, does not need to run on a battery or be designed for battery life, etc....

    One big problem with these reviews - no mention how expensive aura plus actually is and that almost all of the good data is behind the paywall. Also how accurate is this on wrist electircal impedance against the dexa aka gold standard (probably not accurate at all). Literally a 30 dollar bathroom scale will do a better job at tracking all of the info. Also you should probably take the measurements at another time not after your workout since you will be rather dehydrated and it can cause the body water measurement to be off. The recommendation is early in the morning once you have gone to the restroom. With that said this totally a promotional review.

  • @macbugde
    @macbugde 2 года назад +22

    The reason Apple doesn’t adapt “everything” is simple: accuracy. It has to be as accurate as possible.
    This aura band is nice but - a big but - I doubt you have 14% body fat - but then again I am not sure. That’s just body fat levels of athletes - in general, the way it measures the data through impendance is not considered accurate. It’s indicative at best and all the scales you can buy to stand in use a similar tech. But it would just not be accurate enough to have Apple “guarantee” some level of accuracy like with their heart monitor function etc.

    • @TheMagicPin
      @TheMagicPin 2 года назад +1

      14% body fat is a perfectly normal and healthy level. There's no reason to put down people just because you think they're unhealthy.

    • @macbugde
      @macbugde 2 года назад +6

      @@TheMagicPin I didn’t say unhealthy at all. Where did you take that from? Saying that body fat index has to do with health is far fetched - anorexic people are not healthy.
      All I am saying is that that’s a very low number and usually athletes aim for it and the impedance-based measurement is inaccurate. Everything else happened in your head.

    • @UmCrafteiroBebado
      @UmCrafteiroBebado 2 года назад +1

    I see a lot of questions asking if it’s accurate. Being in health my whole life. No process is technically perfectly accurate. However what this will give you is a baseline to see progress. I use an electronic scan at my gym and it’s about 3% body fat off of the calipers i use. But I still scan once a month to see if my diet or training is working during a bulk or cut. I would love to have one of these to check my daily progress. I especially love the hydration feature for peek week to know if I’m getting too dehydrated for a show. Looks like an amazing product. Maybe My kids will get me one for Father’s Day.

I bet in the fine print that it probably mentions that the information it provides are not reliable for medical use and that they are an estimation or a rough calculation. I get how the watch can measure HR, breathing, ECG is a bit gimmicky for the mere fact that it needs to read electric impulses and it doesn’t account for which arm the watch is on (actual ECG readings are different based on which arm). This thing is a FAAAARRR stretch trying to measure body fat, and water content from the touch of your hand. Absolutely nonsense, might as well ask a fortune teller for these information, and hey it might even be cheaper than this sponsored content.
