It is nice to get away and do something fun with your teen! I miss shopping with my mother, she passed in 2018. We used to go all the time until she became disabled, and she was my enabler too lol. Since she lived with us she got to enjoy seeing what my husband and I would bring home from our once a year "anniversary" antiquing day. It was something we looked forward to every year, it was the day we set aside to celebrate our day and to be off the farm just before Christmas, and for obvious reasons we haven't gone the last 2 years. Before covid we started taking a grandchild with us to have that wonderful experience and to give them each a day with nana & papa alone. Each of them loved the freedom of buying something with their chore money or whatever papa chipped in lol. They all live with us so its hard to have that solo day at home. We are hoping to be able to resume our tradition by next Christmas, I so miss it! By the way, love antiquing with Laura & her mom and loved that lime phone, we have a red one lol.
I was so excited this morning, when I saw this “Mom antiquing” video!! I had to leave for a couple of hours, but it made it all the more special when I arrived home, knowing I had this wonderful video to watch! These videos are my favorites, but I do love the annual “Laura’s favorites plants” videos too. Ok, I love them all, I admit it. Keep ‘em coming!

Me and my mom used to do this quite often back in the 80’s and early 90’s. Mom is now 86 and can’t get around like she used to. I so enjoy these videos as it reminds me of so many wonderful times with my mom. Cherish them, Laura!
I took my girls to every thrift, flea and antique place in our area at least twice a month. I told them my car brakes for those kind of shops/stores. Now they are grown and life is busy for them we rarely do this together. We miss that. However, my gals are good to call me when they are out on their own at thrifts, fleas and antique places to tell me all of the wonderful stuff they are looking at and wish their old mama was there with them to pay for things for them. They know I will do that!

I loved it when Laura said to her mom about the boots with the mud on them "what a hobo!" I fell out laughing with them. Also, I really loved the tall skinny black lamp. I love shopping with them.

I love these moments. I lost my mom to cancer just before Christmas, and we used to "go antiquing" together, try on silly hats and giggle, and marvel at all the treasures we found just like y'all do. She had a green thumb too, and your channel helps me carry on that tradition. Mom handed down her dragon wing begonia propagated from the original plant that my great-great-grandmother owned (!) which is still flourishing in my care thanks to one of your videos. And your feature on repotting African violets reminded me of my grandmother's obsession with them. So when you share with us, please know that your videos teach but also conjure cherished memories. Thank you for always bringing us along, Laura.
My heart goes out to you. I know how difficult it is to lose your mom. Sending up prayers for comfort as you grieve.

I have two sisters, and when we shop without the other we do the exact same thing! We made it a tradition to always pick up something while we’re out for eachother. Makes for the best meet ups and catch up stories.
Oh what I'd do to have a shopping day with my mom. I grew up riding shotgun in her big old station wagon going to tag sales, barns sales and even digging for old bottles behind old houses. Cherish every minute with her! Life is but a blink.
My mom and I used to do that, too! She called them "Junk Walks" and I remember them with pure love. I am so glad someone else had that kind of fun, too! One time, Mom and I were digging around in an old abandoned house and ran into a bear! What a memory!
Me too! I was the youngest child by 10 years so my mom and I spent MUCH time together. She has mild dementia now and I treasure those memories made with her❤️
@@LaurieEggleston37 My mother unearthed a snake and that was the last of the bottle digging for her. I was always amazed she could figure out where the dumps would be because of the placement of the house and the rock walls etc. She once dug up a complete brandy decanter set with all the glasses. Not even a chip out of one.

Monica was probably minding the store with Dad. We love Monica. It just showed how much Monica is with them in Spirit! Like all family and friends that we love. They are always with us.
I love watching you and your mom together! She is such a great sport trying on all of the hats. I love that she thinks her head is too big for the hats but they all end up being big on her! You are so funny calling her a hobo just because she has a little smudge on her shoe. And then, when you called your dad a hayseed, I laughed out loud! You have such a special relationship with your family and it is so wonderful that you have introduced them to us. I feel as though I know all of you and I look forward to watching your videos so I can catch up with what my friends are up to. After asking my 7yr old niece if she wanted to go antiquing with me and walking thru three antique shops.....she ask me to step outside so that she could tell me a secret.
When we sat down on the porch swing she said, "I wanted to go outside & whisper so I don't hurt anyone's feelings.... Aunt Patti, I can tell that these items have been used " lol

Laura, THANK YOU for sharing this recent trip with your Mom! You know, these experiences aren’t only fun for you two, they are GREAT for people like me! I never had the chance to do something like this with my Mom, or my two sisters. Since then, because my daughter’s husband is in the military no where near my home in Seacoast NH, I haven’t been able to do these things with my daughter either. She does really have different taste than I do, I fit right into what you and your Mom enjoy, which makes this type of video SUCH a treat!! There are THE most INCREDIBLE shops that you two visit, with very reasonable prices compared to the New England area. So PLEASE continue to do this sort of video, and show us, if you will, the locations of where the pieces are placed. I am a wee bit envious, I must admit to you, and EVER so happy for you and your family. You have achieved two of my most cherished dreams. The English styled greenhouse, your Hartley, and a beautiful black baby grand, a Steinway, no less!! Good goin Girl! Your joy brings me joy-THANK YOU!!

Laura, Thank you for sharing your shopping adventures with your mom. My mom and I used to do this but she now has advanced dementia and most days she doesn’t remember who I am. So I love to watch you with your mom and remember these special days. These videos bring me so much joy. Thank you!
It’s a long painful road… I was and am in the same situation. Just know you are not alone.
Later these kind of memories will take the place of most of the bad memories of the difficult times…weirdest thing…my mom didn’t know who I was either …until the nursing home staff put up the Christmas tree…Mom knew me again, until it went away…the following year the dementia had progressed even further, but again when the tree went up her memories of us sharing holidays were strong enough that she knew me again…she passed a few months later…a blessing…

My mom passed 4 years ago at 65. 😢 miss her so much. I enjoy these videos a ton. Enjoy all the time you have left love each other and thank God for the 👪. A moms are unreplacable. That's garenteed.

I said, "Yay!" when I first saw the post title. Posts like these are some of my favorites because they remind me of the fun times my mother and I had when we shopped. She is 90 now and has dementia but she still remembers our shopping trips so vividly. Thank you for letting us follow along as you and your mom make sweet memories too. And that gold glitzy hat she tried on made me laugh outloud 😅

By the way, I have the miniature cast iron stove you showed at 29:30 and my grandchildren love it. My seven-year-old granddaughter especially will spend hours playing with her dolls and this stove. I am anxiously awaiting all the blooms this spring! Blessing to you and your family.
