The Greeks came in this island 3500 years ago to build villages and towns and not to conquer and built Lapithos and Kyrenia. The Ottomans came to Cyprus 550 years ago as conquerors to kill and take over. The army of Turkey in 1974 killed thousands of Greek Cypriots to make them leave their homes and villages in the North of Cyprus and therefore committed genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Kyrenian Greek Cypriot Christian population. I come from Lapithos and as a Greek Cypriot i am not allowed by the illegal TRNC authorities to live in Lapithos. The same for all the Greek Cypriots. Even if our houses are there they don't allow us to live in our houses and villages unless we recognize the illegal Turkish authorities and accept the army of Turkey in our lands.

I've been to cyprus on a holiday last October. My God it was fun, and yes there's loads of cats. Make sure to both visit the north and the south when visiting cyprus, it's going on a holiday in 2 counties in 1 trip (watch out with rental cars tho)
@Kaan Karaca of course you are allowed to enter the areas of the Republic of Cyprus that are controlled by the legal Cypriot government, as every person that is a citizen of a third country recognized by the Republic of Cyprus like Turkey with a visa, but you have to enter through a legal entrance that is controlled by the Republic of Cyprus such as Larnaca or Paphos Airports or Limassol or Larnaca Ports. If you came from Turkey to the occupied parts of Cyprus to the north and try to enter through the checkpoints to the free areas of the Republic of Cyprus you would not be allowed to go through (or in some extreme cases arrested) for an illegal entrance to the territory of the Republic of Cyprus through an illegal entrance that is not controlled by the Cypriot government.

They are military bases (one is an RAF base the other an army base). The main reason they are there is to counterbalance the Turks. One of the reasons the Turkish armed forces didn't occupy the whole island when they invaded is because they didn't want a military confrontation with the UK. Iv read the UK would be willing to give them to Cyprus in a reunification deal ?? I doubt turkey would agree to that

As a person who lived in Northern Cyprus for 2 years, I can say that it was literally amazing and it’s like a mix between the Uk and Türkiye. The harbours are amazing, their people are so nice, and there are actually no crimes or no bad stuff there, oh and also there are cats everywhere.

The Greeks came in this island 3500 years ago to build villages and towns and not to conquer and built Lapithos and Kyrenia. The Ottomans came to Cyprus 550 years ago as conquerors to kill and take over. The army of Turkey in 1974 killed thousands of Greek Cypriots to make them leave their homes and villages in the North of Cyprus and therefore committed genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Kyrenian Greek Cypriot Christian population. I come from Lapithos and as a Greek Cypriot i am not allowed by the illegal TRNC authorities to live in Lapithos. The same for all the Greek Cypriots. Even if our houses are there they don't allow us to live in our houses and villages unless we recognize the illegal Turkish authorities and accept the army of Turkey in our lands.
When you fight, you call it peace, but when the Turks defend themselves, you call it genocide. Do you want to remember bloody Christmas? You wanted to unite with Greece and massacred the Turks.

I've been to cyprus on a holiday last October. My God it was fun, and yes there's loads of cats. Make sure to both visit the north and the south when visiting cyprus, it's going on a holiday in 2 counties in 1 trip (watch out with rental cars tho)

If you came from Turkey to the occupied parts of Cyprus to the north and try to enter through the checkpoints to the free areas of the Republic of Cyprus you would not be allowed to go through (or in some extreme cases arrested) for an illegal entrance to the territory of the Republic of Cyprus through an illegal entrance that is not controlled by the Cypriot government.

They are military bases (one is an RAF base the other an army base). The main reason they are there is to counterbalance the Turks. One of the reasons the Turkish armed forces didn't occupy the whole island when they invaded is because they didn't want a military confrontation with the UK. Iv read the UK would be willing to give them to Cyprus in a reunification deal ?? I doubt turkey would agree to that

Also, Northern Cyprus is an independent place and is not governed by Turkey. In fact, Northern Cyprus is currently a more democratic place than Turkey. As a Turkish citizen, I learned in a documentary in the 8th grade that Cyprus' cousin was occupied. Right now, there is not even the slightest connection between Turkey and Cyprus.

As a person who lived in Northern Cyprus for 2 years, I can say that it was literally amazing and it’s like a mix between the Uk and Türkiye. The harbours are amazing, their people are so nice, and there are actually no crimes or no bad stuff there, oh and also there are cats everywhere.
