I ordered the bike on July 24th..... I got it today. It's flawless.. expert packing, no scratches, the battery was fully charged.. perfect! Just put air in the tires and ZIP! At 63.. I have new roads to explore.. thanks for your outstanding videos.
If you pull the brake lever it will stop the motor from activating in the turn. Just pull it enough to release the power. That is what I do and it works great.

The LECTRIC has enough unique handling and power characteristics (surprises) that I’d be a little hesitant to let anyone just jump on it and take off. The combination of the short handlebar, 4” x 20” knobbies, bike weight, and electric propulsion make it necessary to get the feel of the bike in a safe environment before hitting the trails. The engineers put a lot of thought into how to administer the electric power. It has things like walk mode and cruise control, along with a throttle - but the Pedal Assist function (PAS) is the most interesting. There are 5 of them, with 4 and 5 being used only for 20+ And 24+ mph. But 1, 2, and 3 are what get used most often. 1 helps you maintain 8 mph, 2 helps with 12 mph, and 3 helps maintain 16 mph. The idea is that as long as you’re pedaling, then PAS will help you maintain that PAS’s mph.

Usually if I take turns, specifically tight ones, I press on one brake slightly because the motor won't engage with the brake pressed. Also a lot of companies are trying to copy this bike design....but this company was first to give people a complete bike for decent price owned mine about a year now.
That’s what I usually do too but sometimes you forget. I ran into a curb the other day trying to film something not paying attention and turned the pedals too far LOL.
@@JeremiahMcintosh lol...kinda a habit now for me. The brakes are the truth, they will stop you on a dime, but also require little pressure to make those tight turns. Save myself from running into many joggers usually at intersections. Good videos....I will be watching. Peace.
I haven’t seen any videos that talk about how to ride the bike and go through the gears and display modes. This will be really important as I have never actually had a bike with a different speeds
When you're pedaling too much shift to a higher gear, when it's too hard to pedal shift to a lower gear, it's as simple as that! You'll want to start out no higher than pas 3, once you're used to how the bike reacts in the various modes, it will start to become second nature to you. Pas 0 is just a bike with seven gears, (a fairly heavy 65 lb bike!), pas 1 gets you to 7 mph with little effort, Pas 2 - 10mph, pas 3 - 15, pas 4 about 17mph, and pas 5, about 20 mph, unless you set speed to max, then it's about 26.5 - 28 mph.

Thanks for all the tips Jeremiah. Received my black XP 6 days ago. Took about one week for delivery which I thought was slow since I only live 90 miles from Phoenix AZ. It came with the panniers which surprised me. Perhaps it was because I emailed them about the slow shipping. It shipped the day after my email and I got in 1 day after fedex got it. I love the bike!
Definitely check your brakes. I didn't and they worked but I did notice after a few months they started getting weaker. I adjusted them at the handlebars several times. I got a flat tire about 10 months into owning the bike. I purchased a tube from Amazon and took the bike to a bike shop. I had them replace the tube and adjust the brakes. When I got it back, those brakes were adjusted *properly* and had I applied as much force as before, I would have went over the handlebars. Those brakes were *tight!*
Hi Jeremiah, just got my wife’s 2.0 step through and I found an easy way to fold and unfold the bike. Put a plastic coffee can under the stand by the sprocket and pivot the front wheel around. This gives you easy access to the battery and keys without needing three hands. Less chance of dropping the battery. You won’t have to hold up the bike. This video as well as the others that you shared on the Lectric XP are very informative and helpful. I ordered mine on May 5th, and would get the bike by June 20th. I am really excited. I have been cycling to my office in wake of pandemic(I used to take bus before, and it might be risky now, to take public transport). I don't know how to drive a car and having an e-bike would be a boon to me. After going through all the videos, I believe I would be better off as compared to my manual bike, especially on the hilly routes of San Diego. Thank you so much!
Bought two XP models a year ago. 1400+ miles between the two of them, 1250 on mine. Tried $4250 bikes with less power. The display needs a waterproof cover, one filled with water Riding in the rain and needed replacement at 973 miles. A plastic bag and zip ties can prevent that. One power supply replacement under warranty. Two flats. A brake rotor truing tool essential. I put a zoom suspension seatpost on both, now a Suntour NCX on mine. It is a better upgrade. I put crankbrothers double shot pedals on mine, clip in on one side, flat on the other. They are awesome on 1-2 hour rides. Keep up the great videos!! Very informative!
Thanks Jeremiah for doing this video it's so critical and necessary for safety and to make sure the bike is in optimal shape to get the most out of it and to prevent any damage that can be caused. Most people are not aware that any bike received new is not ready out of the box to just jump on it and ride without adjustments made to bring it up to par especially with the brakes in fine tuning them and cleaning any residue like you mentioned. I was going to get a Lectric after much research but the wait time was going to be too long and I ended up getting a different kind that was in stock and shipped within a week of ordering so I can have the most time to ride and enjoy it for the summer while the weather is still good. I was going to order the black color. I still may get one for the folding capability when needed since the one I got doesn't fold and is more of a mountain ebike that has front fork suspension. @@JeremiahMcintosh I got the 2020 Nakto Super Cruiser ebike. I've had it for a couple weeks and I just needed to attach the front wheel, seat and handle bars. It did need some adjustments especially with the brakes and I really like it so far. It's pretty fast and heavy duty and the front suspension fork is great!

I ordered mines in black I have already ordered a bunch of accessories from seat post the seat itself a helmet with lights and turn singles. I live in the city so I definitely want too be seen. Even my seat has rear lights. Before I go and get the rear sprocket I'm going to want to see what it is like just as is. Let me say this I have watched alot of RUclips information on this bike but you have been the most informed and you have experience and explain your work to the best of your ability. Hands down you are definitely a goto. Much Respect bro 💪.

I totally agree not to use peddle assist when turning shapely, I turned from stationary with ped-ass on and I almost fell off, so always have ped-ass mode off and move on a turn using your own peddling power. It’s like having someone behind you, giving you a push as you turn which is not good.
We have had two since October. Ours arrived in good shape. Like you said the brakes needed adjustment. The derailer also needed adjustment. There are a lot of youtube videos on how to do this.
Jeremiah… Just ordered my bike yesterday. I have been watching your videos and its really good to see all inputs about it. My new black Lectric 2.0 is coming soon! I hope the battery will be a good brand and not a generic one. I’m thinking to call before they ship it. Let’s see. I’m planning to do a commute to work every other day. 19 miles one way! Let’s see how many trips I can put on this one : ) I don’t want to buy another car! While companies are calling employees to be in office i think this is a great option. Studying bike trails as well. Jeremiah, you have done so much for this company that the least they could you is send you another one for the wife. BTW I sold mine and got a step thru from another brand. I found it too hard to mount and dismount at my age, I actually fell down twice and I have bad hips, can't take a chance of getting hurt at age 67
I agree! I have a lot of time invested in making these videos but I do it to help out other people. I recently asked them if they had an affiliate program and they said no😩. I’ve been looking for my next bike for future videos to do some comparisons. Maybe Juiced bikes, Rad Runner Plus , Rattan Fat Bear, Eahora X7...who knows I’m a little limited on cash but I would love for them to send me their new step through!

I dont know why people want to remove battery. I have had my XP since July 2018. I have neer taken the battery out. I never fold it back up. I filded it once to take it to the river, but it was too much of a hassle. SCratched my bumper on my 2021 Prius. I wouldnt have done it, but I had a flat. Some people talk about changing gears etc. I dont bother with it. My bike is in 5 gear. ALL THE TIME. ( wouldnt care if it had no gears. I hate deralleur gears. Im not training for Tour de France. But I guess some people want the exercise. I hate exercise. Im 72 yrs old, Im strong enuff..Good video. Enjoyed it. Oh BTW I had one of the old style rear luggage racks. It rode real low. FOr some reason it had bentconnectors. U couldnt put any weight on it. The taillight was about 1/4 inch from the fender. I had to jam a piece of styrofoam between iit. I saw another guy on here had the same problem. Well I went around and round with Lektrik. At first they pretended like they didnt know what I was talking abut. Sofinally they offered to sell me a better one. Nice of them. Now I have two. It cost me 59 bucks. If I upgrade I wont get aLektrik. I was one of their first customers.I ordered before they had ever shipped their first bike. I meanI was a believer. That should have been worth something.
Spot on, Jeremiah, about peddling in assist mode while turning. Came close a couple of times while turning in restricted places ie; pedestrian railway crossings, etc., in power mode 1. I ride a Ryder, "Fatty" Folding Ebike, 48V 250w (Not legal in my country to have/ride the 500w bike.) which has plenty of power for me. Have achieved a comfortable 80klm's in pedal assist mode. SO TRUE! I am always paranoid about letting smeone ride that has never been on one. When turning around, in the middle of the rode, DO NOT LET PEDALS MOVE AT ALL!! You will crash into curb and bust your ass maybe. Its not a defect. They all are like this. Just be careful. SOmetimes I even bump it down to PAS Zero.
Jeremiah, thank you for all these interesting and informative videos. The information provided and reading an on line copy of the owners manual gave me a big head start and greatly reduced the learning curve of owning, maintaining and riding an electric bike. Received my step through style XP last week and was able to take several short rides weather permitting. Living in the north east this early in the spring nighttime temperatures drop into the 20's and I was concerned about the minimum storage temperature of the lithium ion battery. No mention of it in the owners manual so did a quick search and found this information: Store the battery at temperatures between 5 °C and 20 °C (41 °F and 68 °F). NOTE. The battery self-discharges during storage. Higher temperatures (above 20 °C or 68 °F) reduce the battery storage life. Perhaps this could be added to your list of must know tips. Thanks

Yeh, good tips. One I could say on my new 3.0, my rear tire was rubbing something or other with every rotation, I found that they bolted it on kinda wobbly...readjusted it when mounting the foot pegs for passenger . Another one, I needed to mess with my derailleur set screws a little bit to get it to shift and function best as able for the budget Shimano setup. But man, this bike rocks!...although wish it had an 8th gear.

Purchased mine on January 31 received it February 10th. Only thing I have a problem with is the charging port plug doesn't want to stay in. Other than that it's great. I love it. Best purchase I've ever made.

THANK YOU! I have only 22 miles on my new ST 2.0. My battery was down to 42V so I tried to remove it to charge and could not get it out if the bike. Found this video and figured it out. I had not popped out the charging plug and it was wedged in there. All good now!!👍🏻 Michele

Just got the 3.0 yesterday..noticed when in gear 7, the chain was in #6 sprocket, thought out of adjustment, but when watching this video, sure 'nuff, the derailer guard was preventing it from going into the #7 sprocket!! THANKS!!

I remember with the brakes the cable stretched a little. I did The adjustment and it almost threw me over the handlebars

This video as well as the others that you shared on the Lectric XP are very informative and helpful. I ordered mine on May 5th, and would get the bike by June 20th. I am really excited. I have been cycling to my office in wake of pandemic(I used to take bus before, and it might be risky now, to take public transport). I don't know how to drive a car and having an e-bike would be a boon to me. After going through all the videos, I believe I would be better off as compared to my manual bike, especially on the hilly routes of San Diego. Thank you so much!

Bought two XP models a year ago. 1400+ miles between the two of them, 1250 on mine. Tried $4250 bikes with less power. The display needs a waterproof cover, one filled with water Riding in the rain and needed replacement at 973 miles. A plastic bag and zip ties can prevent that. One power supply replacement under warranty. Two flats. A brake rotor truing tool essential. I put a zoom suspension seatpost on both, now a Suntour NCX on mine. It is a better upgrade. I put crankbrothers double shot pedals on mine, clip in on one side, flat on the other. They are awesome on 1-2 hour rides. Keep up the great videos!! Very informative!

Thanks Jeremiah for doing this video it's so critical and necessary for safety and to make sure the bike is in optimal shape to get the most out of it and to prevent any damage that can be caused. Most people are not aware that any bike received new is not ready out of the box to just jump on it and ride without adjustments made to bring it up to par especially with the brakes in fine tuning them and cleaning any residue like you mentioned. I was going to get a Lectric after much research but the wait time was going to be too long and I ended up getting a different kind that was in stock and shipped within a week of ordering so I can have the most time to ride and enjoy it for the summer while the weather is still good. I was going to order the black color. I still may get one for the folding capability when needed since the one I got doesn't fold and is more of a mountain ebike that has front fork suspension. @@JeremiahMcintosh I got the 2020 Nakto Super Cruiser ebike. I've had it for a couple weeks and I just needed to attach the front wheel, seat and handle bars. It did need some adjustments especially with the brakes and I really like it so far. It's pretty fast and heavy duty and the front suspension fork is great!

Thanks for the info. I heard things I haven't heard anywhere else, and I've watched quite a few videos. My wife and I ordered our bikes about two weeks ago and looking forward to our first ride. I ordered mines in black I have already ordered a bunch of accessories from seat post the seat itself a helmet with lights and turn singles. I live in the city so I definitely want too be seen. Even my seat has rear lights. Before I go and get the rear sprocket I'm going to want to see what it is like just as is. Let me say this I have watched alot of RUclips information on this bike but you have been the most informed and you have experience and explain your work to the best of your ability. Hands down you are definitely a goto. Much Respect bro 💪.

I totally agree not to use peddle assist when turning shapely, I turned from stationary with ped-ass on and I almost fell off, so always have ped-ass mode off and move on a turn using your own peddling power. It’s like having someone behind you, giving you a push as you turn which is not good.

We have had two since October. Ours arrived in good shape. Like you said the brakes needed adjustment. The derailer also needed adjustment. There are a lot of youtube videos on how to do this.
Jeremiah… Just ordered my bike yesterday. I have been watching your videos and its really good to see all inputs about it. My new black Lectric 2.0 is coming soon! I hope the battery will be a good brand and not a generic one. I’m thinking to call before they ship it. Let’s see. I’m planning to do a commute to work every other day. 19 miles one way! Let’s see how many trips I can put on this one : ) I don’t want to buy another car! While companies are calling employees to be in office i think this is a great option. Studying bike trails as well. I need to master the maps to fine the best options! Again thanks so much for all the time and effort you put on this videos. 🎉

Jeremiah, you have done so much for this company that the least they could you is send you another one for the wife. BTW I sold mine and got a step thru from another brand. I found it too hard to mount and dismount at my age, I actually fell down twice and I have bad hips, can't take a chance of getting hurt at age 67

@@Amy-fu1tp I got the Veego Semi fat for $1000 it's a step thru and lighter than the Lectric XP with a lower seating position as well. For ,me it has enough range and power, I am not racing anyone.

How long did it take?
I dont know why people want to remove battery. I have had my XP since July 2018. I have neer taken the battery out. I never fold it back up. I filded it once to take it to the river, but it was too much of a hassle. SCratched my bumper on my 2021 Prius. I wouldnt have done it, but I had a flat. Some people talk about changing gears etc. I dont bother with it. My bike is in 5 gear. ALL THE TIME. ( wouldnt care if it had no gears. I hate deralleur gears. Im not training for Tour de France. But I guess some people want the exercise. I hate exercise. Im 72 yrs old, Im strong enuff..Good video. Enjoyed it. Oh BTW I had one of the old style rear luggage racks. It rode real low. FOr some reason it had bentconnectors. U couldnt put any weight on it. The taillight was about 1/4 inch from the fender. I had to jam a piece of styrofoam between iit. I saw another guy on here had the same problem. Well I went around and round with Lektrik. At first they pretended like they didnt know what I was talking abut. Sofinally they offered to sell me a better one. Nice of them. Now I have two. It cost me 59 bucks. If I upgrade I wont get aLektrik. I was one of their first customers.I ordered before they had ever shipped their first bike. I meanI was a believer. That should have been worth something.

Spot on, Jeremiah, about peddling in assist mode while turning. Came close a couple of times while turning in restricted places ie; pedestrian railway crossings, etc., in power mode 1. I ride a Ryder, "Fatty" Folding Ebike, 48V 250w (Not legal in my country to have/ride the 500w bike.) which has plenty of power for me. Have achieved a comfortable 80klm's in pedal assist mode. Many thanks for your helpful tips.
SO TRUE! I am always paranoid about letting smeone ride that has never been on one. When turning around, in the middle of the rode, DO NOT LET PEDALS MOVE AT ALL!! You will crash into curb and bust your ass maybe. Its not a defect. They all are like this. Just be careful. SOmetimes I even bump it down to PAS Zero.
Jeremiah, thank you for all these interesting and informative videos. The information provided and reading an on line copy of the owners manual gave me a big head start and greatly reduced the learning curve of owning, maintaining and riding an electric bike.
Received my step through style XP last week and was able to take several short rides weather permitting. Living in the north east this early in the spring nighttime temperatures drop into the 20's and I was concerned about the minimum storage temperature of the lithium ion battery. No mention of it in the owners manual so did a quick search and found this information:
Store the battery at temperatures between 5 °C and 20 °C (41 °F and 68 °F). NOTE. The battery self-discharges during storage. Higher temperatures (above 20 °C or 68 °F) reduce the battery storage life.
Perhaps this could be added to your list of must know tips. Thanks

Yeh, good tips. One I could say on my new 3.0, my rear tire was rubbing something or other with every rotation, I found that they bolted it on kinda wobbly...readjusted it when mounting the foot pegs for passenger . Another one, I needed to mess with my derailleur set screws a little bit to get it to shift and function best as able for the budget Shimano setup. But man, this bike rocks!...although wish it had an 8th gear.
I bought the white, step through. I’ve been waiting about a week. I just received notice that some, or all , of it will be shipped within a few days. I’m over the moon!

Just ordered one for my husband and i saw a couple this past weekend with there's i had been looking into your bikes but seeing the couple's bikes and talking to them made me make up my mind they had nothing but good to say about your company and they looked so happy on your bikes thought you should , cant wait to get ours.

Purchased mine on January 31 received it February 10th. Only thing I have a problem with is the charging port plug doesn't want to stay in. Other than that it's great. I love it. Best purchase I've ever made.
Just unboxed mine. Took almost two weeks to get here and display was smashed in transit. Called and they're sending a replacement display. The rep said it was easy to replace, so we'll see. Great tips in this video, especially cleaning brake rotors.

THANK YOU! I have only 22 miles on my new ST 2.0. My battery was down to 42V so I tried to remove it to charge and could not get it out if the bike. Found this video and figured it out. I had not popped out the charging plug and it was wedged in there. All good now!!👍🏻 Michele

Just got the 3.0 yesterday..noticed when in gear 7, the chain was in #6 sprocket, thought out of adjustment, but when watching this video, sure 'nuff, the derailer guard was preventing it from going into the #7 sprocket!! THANKS!!
