I think 2023 is the year for torque wheels. Previously a lot of riders chased higher speeds sacrificing torque. But it is so refreshing to ride a torque-y wheel.
@@2cells1pack I hope you're right and couldn't agree more. I have a 16x, RSHT, and Shermax and torque is the overarching theme of all of those wheels. Going above 40 mph on an electric wheel has never been my bag, or anyone else's I know who rides really. Tourque on the other hand is where it's at 🤯🤠😋
I've really appreciated your input on previous questions about the Patton, so one more. I assume Leaperkim planned on power pads covering the sides of the battery boxes, so if I cover the side of the battery boxes myself with self adhesive loop material (anticipating future accessory attachments) am I insulating an important cooling/heat sink surface for the electronics?
Thanks. We will definitely make more videos testing out other wheels. It takes a lot of time and scheduling to make 2 person videos - so they will probably come out less frequently. Also vancouver weather works against us and we try to film on every sunny day we can.

From my limited understanding -> the increased suspension travel, pedal height, and taller battery boxes will be more designed for offroad/ heavy trail/jump use. The Patton suspension is more set up for comfort and a plush ride and therefore would be better as a commuting/light offroad/trail/jump use. this is my personal findings. by no means am I a hardcore trail/jumper.

We actually did purchase a better helmet for her, however the size was too big (Shoei EXZero). I had to send it back for a size change, so it'll be a week or two.
yes... they are. And there's no structural ridge similar to the V12. (V12 also has similar issues with the 4 bolts breaking. This was a concern for me.
@@2cells1pack Although I do love the stainless hex-bolts (definitely a step up from wood screws) but the galvanic action between stainless and aluminum doesn't bode well for longevity. PURPLE Loctite (light-duty) may be necessary for these connections. Wondering if there's another material that would be suitable, like the anti-galling Permatex Copper Anti-Seize lubricant or No-Ox electrical connection paste? Suggestions?
Galvanic action between stainless steel screws and large aluminum pieces isn't a huge cause for concern, especially since it is only the threaded part that is in constant contact. Yes, there is cause for concern for binding -> if you live in certain wetter parts of the world, or in the winter when roads are salted (this can accelerate the binding). However, I'm not sure this is a huge concern personally. Stainless Steel screws securing big pieces of aluminum are fairly common IMO.

It was the 62lb one. "Without bottoming out" has a lot of caveats depending on what you're looking to do with it. Are you doing mainly urban riding? Or trails? Or jumps?
@@skobuffs7 if you're doing sets of stairs, I think the 62lb should be good. I'll be doing a more long term review in which I'll get other riders of different weights to also give it a try. At that point I'll have a better idea of what the ideal weight ranges are for each suspension and type of riding.
Hi Chris, it’s Christine. I rode the Patton a little bit longer and took it out for some jumps. I weight 95lbs and with the 62lb suspension, I don’t find it stiff, it is just perfect for my weight. But I do feel that when I do jumps, the shock does go down quite a bit.
is this the wheel with 66lb torque, being a light rider such as yourself christine is the 66lb suspension stiff or you have it adjusted where riding on roads suspension doing good job
We had both 62 and 66. The one with the kinetic colourful pads was the 62, and the one with glow pads is the 66. The 66 was stiff for her on regular road riding, but stairs and trails she preferred it.
I haven't tried an S22 Pro yet, but if I were to compare it to the S22, I would say the Patton is more effortless (less body swinging) to get it to move.

Nice! Too bad you didnt do a head 2 head with the current small suspension wheel standard, the T4. As alot of us have some experience (I own a T4 & its my goto gnarly offroad machine), it woulda been good to have an idea of the pluses & minuses. A review without a standard reference can be oftimes too vague for the consumer. EG when you say its got torque, do you mean it has RSht standards of torque or?? FWIW I regularly climb 30+ degrees on the T4, on dirt so that by itself doesnt say much. & I'm only bout 15-20kgs lighter, if that. I like the build of the Patton but it sure looks like its gonna have a busy summer competing with the new & lighter Commander Mini & BG's Extreme

I didn't get too deep into those tests, since it was a first impressions look. However, I did do some max acceleration tests (0-60 in 5 sec type of test) and it had first beep at 67kph
These pads are unique to eevees. I don't believe there are pads that come with the device? But I could be wrong. There are also some pads with the reflective sides - that are designed with the Patton toe clips in mind but I'm not sure if they're actually included.
@@2cells1pack im referring to the pads in ElectricDreams review in china, e-ridesUK review in UK, hsiang’s review in NYC, they all come with the same pads and compatible with the jump pad mechanism, i think some of them say its included. Is eevees the only distributor without the stock pads?

for most EUC, it is a bit of a struggle to do a tire change. It's the nature of the beast due to it's compactness and symmetrical design for weight balance.
They are already doing better than devices from previous years. In the current state of EUC, manufacturers are still trying to figure out how to make a good product. Water intent designing -> and other creature comforts usually come afterwards.
@@oliverer3 its really not that difficult to make it good waterproof. Maybe 3 usd extra in production. There's just no valid excuse for this. Especially that the board is flat on the surface so any water will definitely reach the board. This would ok for a 20 usd toy. Not for a 3000+ euc where a cutout can end in hospital.
@@bobdebouwer7835 I mostly agree but it is pretty damn difficult to design something to be weatherproof while still being easy to disassemble and not adding considerably to assembly cost, installing weird shaped orings is expensive yo. With that said they could certainly have done a good deal better than that.

You're totally good to do that. I do that with all my wheels, doesn't affect cooling/heat sink in any way (maybe super small effect but negligible)

If you strip threads in the battery case, install heli-coils. I'd say it should have been done from the factory.

No, the S22 did not have new sliders. It's bone stock except for the pads

The suspension on the Patton (62lb) was extremely soft for me (240lb) - to their defense, we rode it out of the box without any adjustments.
Would you say that it's better than the s22?
That would depend on what you use your wheel for. Different wheels are good at different things 😉
